Vilnius Airport

Vilnius Airport Railway Station is a railway station in Vilnius International Airport, Lithuania, which was opened on 2 October 2008. As for 2019, railbuses running between Vilnius Airport and Vilnius Central Station are the only passenger service of the station and are the fastest (7 min) and the cheapest (€0.80) way to go from the airport to the city centre, but there are only 7 trains during the day with intervals from 30 min to 5 h 45 min. Vilnius airport is one of the two airports in the Baltic states to have a direct rail connection with the city centre (the other one being Tallinn Airport, which since September 2017 has a direct tram connection to Tallinn downtown (with intervals of 6 minutes, journey taking by 19 minutes).

Swiftair Flight 5960 (operating as European Air Transport Leipzig Flight 18D) was an international cargo flight that crashed early in the morning on 25 November 2024 while on final approach to Vilnius Airport. The aircraft, flying from Leipzig/Halle Airport in Leipzig, Germany, to Vilnius Airport in Vilnius, Lithuania, was on approach when it crashed into the ground short of the runway, near a two-story house in Liepkalnis. One crew member was killed and the other three were injured. No one on the ground was injured.

Liepkalnis Winter Sports Centre is an alpine skiing area in Vilnius, Lithuania. It has 10 lifts and 9 groomed ski runs. All the pistes are lit and equipped with artificial snow making equipment. The centre is based on the highest point in Vilnius, Laimio kalnas, with a maximum altitude of 235.12 metres (771.4 ft) above sea level. The maximum altitude difference on the hill is 65 metres (213 ft).

Saint Alexander Nevsky Church (Lithuanian: Šv. Aleksandro Neviškio cerkvė; Russian: Церковь Святого Александра Невского) is an Eastern Orthodox church in the Naujininkai district of Vilnius dedicated to patron saint Alexander Nevsky. It was built in 1898 and closed by the Soviet government in 1959. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, it was given back to the Russian Orthodox Church, but due to the destruction of the interior of the building during the period of closure, it was not reopened as a church until 2012. It belongs to the Russian Orthodox Diocese of Lithuania.

Kurier Wileński (literally: Vilnian Courier) is the main Polish-language newspaper in Lithuania. Printed in Vilnius, it is the only Polish-language daily newspaper published east of Poland. A direct descendant of both the 19th-century newspaper of the same name and the Czerwony Sztandar newspaper, created by the Soviet authorities in 1953 as a means of Sovietization of the Polish diaspora left in the Polish areas annexed by the Soviet Union. The newspaper is a member of the European Association of Daily Newspapers in Minority and Regional Languages (MIDAS). According to TNS Gallup media research, Kurier Wileński 36,800 people or 1.4% of Lithuania's population read at least one issue out of the last six in summer 2008, but that measure dropped to 0.3% in spring 2010.

The Battle of Vilnius took place on 16 April 1702 in Vilnius, the capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, during the Great Northern War.

Automuseum Vilnius - is a museum of historical cars, located in Vilnius, Lithuania, in the former Taxi Park at the intersection of Darius and Girėnas and Pelesas streets. The museum operates indoors. Founded with private funds, it opened in May 2023.

Futbolo klubas Žalgiris, commonly known as FK Žalgiris, Žalgiris Vilnius or simply Žalgiris, is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Vilnius. The club competes in the A Lyga, the top flight of Lithuanian football. The club was founded as Dinamo in 1947. The club's name commemorates the victorious Battle of Žalgiris (Battle of Grunwald) (both names: Žalgiris and Grunwald are translated as "green forest"). Žalgiris has featured many Lithuanian football legends during its history including Arminas Narbekovas, Valdas Ivanauskas, Edgaras Jankauskas and Deividas Šemberas. They have won the Lithuanian Championship 10 times, the Lithuanian Football Cup 14 times, and the Lithuanian Supercup 7 times. The team's colours are green and white. The club plays at LFF stadium in Vilnius which has a capacity of 5,067. After beating Malmö in the second round of Champions League qualifying in July 2022, Žalgiris secured themselves group stage football and became the first ever Lithuanian club to qualify for the group stages of a UEFA club competition; where they dropped into the Conference League group stage after losing in the Europa League play-offs. They would finish bottom of their group with five points, and one win from their six games.

Futbolo Klubas Riteriai, also known as FK Riteriai or as Riteriai, is a Lithuanian professional football club based in Vilnius. Until 21 February 2019, the club was based in Trakai and was known as FK Trakai. Between 2014 and 2023, it played in the top level of Lithuanian football, the A Lyga. "Riteriai" means "Knights" in Lithuanian. The team's colors are volt green and dark blue. Before 2019, the team colors were yellow and blue. The club plays at LFF Stadium in Vilnius (capacity 5,067).

LFF Stadium (Lithuanian Football Federation stadium, Lithuanian: LFF stadionas), formerly known as Vėtra Stadium, is a football stadium in Vilnius, Lithuania. The stadium has a capacity of 5,067 people and was home of the Lithuanian national football team between 2012 and 2022.

Vilnius Central Railway Station (Lithuanian: Vilniaus geležinkelio stotis) is an LTG Link train station in Vilnius, Lithuania. The railway station situates between two neighbourhoods of Vilnius — Naujininkai and Naujamiestis — and on the edge of the Old Town.
