Bluefield University

The Walter McDonald Sanders House is a historic house that forms the center of the Sanders House Center complex at Bluefield in Tazewell County, Virginia, United States. It was built between 1894 and 1896, and is a large two-story, three-bay, red brick Queen Anne style dwelling. A two-story, brick over frame addition was built in 1911. The house features a highly decorative, almost full-length, shed-roofed front porch; a pyramidal roof; and a corner turret with conical roof. Also on the property are the contributing limestone spring house, a frame smokehouse which contains a railroad museum, a frame granary, and an early-20th century small frame dwelling known as the Rosie Trigg Cottage, which houses the Tazewell County Visitor Center. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

Bowen Field at Peters Park is a stadium in Bluefield, Virginia, United States. Primarily used for baseball, it is the home field for Bluefield Ridge Runners of the summer collegiate Appalachian League and the Bluefield University Rams baseball team. It previously hosted the Bluefield Orioles and the Bluefield Blue Jays of Minor League Baseball from 1939 to 2020. It was built in 1939 during the Great Depression as a WPA project, and it was rebuilt in 1975 after a fire. It holds 3,000 people. Seats are from the Anaheim Stadium and were installed in 1990s. The stadium is located in the city park of Bluefield, West Virginia, and is operated by the West Virginia city. However, the park straddles the Virginia–West Virginia state line, and Bowen Field lies completely on the Virginia side of the park. The Blue Jays added "Peters Park" to the ballpark name in May 2017, in honor of a local Bluefield donor, Charles Peters.

Mitchell Stadium is a 10,000 seat stadium in Bluefield, West Virginia. It was built by the Works Progress Administration in 1935, and is located in Bluefield's city park that straddles the West Virginia–Virginia state line. The facility serves as the home football field for the Bluefield State Big Blues college football team as of 2021, the Bluefield Rams college football team as of 2012, as well as the public high schools of Bluefield and its twin city of the same name in Virginia—Bluefield High School in West Virginia and Graham High School in Virginia. The stadium is in West Virginia, unlike the neighboring Bowen Field baseball park, which is in Virginia. This makes Graham unique among American high schools in that its home football games are actually played in another state. The stadium is actually, however, closer to the Graham High building than the Bluefield High building.

Graham High School is a public high school located in Bluefield, Virginia across the state line from Bluefield, West Virginia in Tazewell County, Virginia, as a part of Tazewell County Public Schools.

Easley House, also known as "The Breezes," is a historic home located at Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia. It was designed by architect Alex B. Mahood, and built between 1919 and 1922. It is a stone, 2+1⁄2-story, Tudor Revival-style dwelling with a one-story conservatory wing. It has irregular massing and a projecting gable. Also on the property is a two-story side gable stone garage. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Country Club Hill Historic District is a national historic district located at Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia. The district includes 51 contributing buildings in a residential area of South Bluefield. The buildings are primarily large single family residences with generous front and rear yards. The properties were mostly developed prior to 1940, and are representative of popular architectural styles including Colonial Revival, Classical Revival, and Bungalow styles. The Bluefield Country Club (1920) and some of the houses were designed by architect Alex B. Mahood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

Bluefield is a town in Tazewell County, Virginia, United States, located along the Bluestone River. The population was 5,096 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Bluefield WV-VA micropolitan area which has a population of 106,363 in 2020.

Midway is an unincorporated community in Mercer County, West Virginia, United States. Midway is located on County Route 11 near the northwest border of Bluefield.

Bluefield State University is a public historically black university (HBCU) in Bluefield, West Virginia. Despite being an HBCU, Bluefield's undergraduate student body is now over 80% white.

President's House, also referred to as Hatter Hall, is a historic home located on the campus of Bluefield State University at Bluefield, West Virginia. It was built in 1930 and named after President Hamilton Hatter, and is a brick, 2+1⁄2-story, Colonial Revival-style dwelling. It has one bay side wings and a hipped roof. Also on the property is a stone garage. The house was used as the residence for the college president until 1966. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Bluefield High School (BHS) is a public secondary school in Bluefield, West Virginia, United States. It is part of Mercer County Public Schools and is located at 535 West Cumberland Road. As of the 2018-2019 school year, enrollment was 609 students. The school built a new library in 1998, which was later named after longtime librarian Mary Chmara.

Jefferson Street Historic District is a national historic district located at Bluefield, Mercer County, West Virginia. The district includes 63 contributing buildings in a residential area of Bluefield known as Oakland Addition, originally platted in 1910. The buildings are primarily single-family residences with a few multiple family dwellings, and one church, the College Avenue Baptist Church. Houses are representative of popular architectural styles from the turn of the 20th century, including American Four Square, Bungalow, Colonial Revival, and Classical Revival. A number of the homes were designed by architect Alex B. Mahood. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
