The South Harz Karst Landscape Biosphere Reserve (German: Biosphärenreservat Karstlandschaft Südharz) is a biosphere reserve in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It was founded on 23 March 2009 and is thus the 16th biosphere reserve in Germany. Its recognition by UNESCO is pending.

Hainrode is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it is part of the municipality Südharz.

The ruins of Wolfsberg Castle (German: Burgruine Wolfsberg) lie on an eminence in the municipality of Wolfsberg in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. Of the once extensive mediaeval castle only a few foundation remnants survive.

Dankerode is a village and a former municipality in the district of Harz, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 August 2009, it is part of the town Harzgerode. It lies in the Unterharz, the eastern region of the Harz mountains, at an elevation of 420 m above the valley of the Wipper and has over 1000 years of rich history.

Questenberg is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it has been part of the Südharz municipality. First settlement traces date from 5th and 6th centuries BC. Above the place is the castle called Questenburg. Remainders of the castle (attachment walls and tower), on the steep mountain at the eastern periphery of the village can still be visited and is currently restored by the local Förderverein Questenburg e.V.

Wickerode is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 September 2010, it is part of the municipality Südharz.

The Wippra Dam or Wipper Dam (German: Talsperre-Wippra or Wippertalsperre, partly also Vorsperre Wippra or Vorsperre Wipper) is a dam on the river Wipper in the Harz mountains. It lies near Wippra, not far from Mansfeld and Hettstedt in Saxony-Anhalt. It was built between February 1951 and November 1952. It was built in order to ensure the supply of industrial water to the copper-processing plants in Mansfeld and Hettstedt. Its role in flood protection is rather limited because it was originally only built as an auxiliary dam. Plans for a bigger main dam further down the valley never came to fruition. The Wipper Dam also generates electricity using hydropower. The rated capacity of the power station is 22 kW. Its operator is Talsperrenbetrieb Saxony-Anhalt. The barrier itself is a gravity dam made of concrete. Guided tours of the inside of the dam are available. On the dam is checkpoint no. 219 in the Harzer Wandernadel hiking system.

Kleinleinungen is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it is part of the municipality Südharz.

Neudorf is a village and a former municipality in the district of Harz, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 September 2010, it is part of the town Harzgerode.

Drebsdorf is a village and a former municipality in the Mansfeld-Südharz district, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Since 1 January 2010, it is part of the municipality Südharz.

Kunstteich Neudorf is a reservoir near Neudorf in the Harz Mountains, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It is fed and drained by a small tributary of the Schmale Wipper, itself a tributary of the Wipper.

The Eine is a river, just under 40 kilometres (25 mi) long in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, which rises southeast of Harzgerode in the Harz mountains at 420 metres (1,380 ft) above sea level. The Eine flows north of the B 242 federal road to Friedrichsrode in an easterly direction and then swings northeast into the Harz Foreland. The river channel runs through Alterode, Welbsleben and Westdorf to Aschersleben. The tributaries of the Eine are the Wiebeck, the Leine, the Schwennecke, the Mukarehne and the Langetalbach. Southeast of Aschersleben the Eine discharges into the Wipper at an elevation of 93.7 metres (307 ft) above sea level. The Eine gives its name to the Wipper-Eine collective municipality.
