Main Beach, Queensland

The Nerang River is a perennial river located in South East Queensland, Australia. Its catchment lies within the Gold Coast local government area and covers an area of 490 square kilometres (190 sq mi). The river is approximately 62 kilometres (39 mi) in length.

The Sundale Bridge is a bridge located in the Gold Coast region of South East, Queensland, Australia. Officially known as the Gold Coast Bridge, but locally referred to as the Sundale Bridge due to its proximity to the site of the former Sundale Shopping Centre, the bridge spans the Nerang River linking the suburbs of Southport and Main Beach. Opened initially in 1966, the bridge replaced the Jubilee Bridge, and comprises four separate decks and pier structures built at various stages and for a variety of purposes.

The Jubilee Bridge (1925–1966) was a bridge across the Nerang River in South East Queensland, Australia. The bridge connected the suburbs of Southport to Main Beach on the Gold Coast, providing the first road connection to Surfers Paradise. It facilitated the development of the Gold Coast beach suburbs and holiday resorts.

Main Beach Pavilion and Southport Surf Lifesaving Club are heritage-listed beach buildings off Macarthur Parade, Main Beach, Queensland, Australia. The Main Beach Pavilion was designed by Thomas Ramsay Hall and Lionel Blythewood Phillips of the architectural firm Hall and Phillips and built in 1934 for the Southport Town Council. The Surf Lifesaving Club was also designed by Hall and Phillips and built adjacent in 1936 for the club. They were added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 1 March 1995.

The Pacific Cable Station was built in 1902 in Southport, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia, continuing to operate for sixty years, finally closing in 1962. While most of the site has been dismantled, the Southport Cable Hut remains and has been listed on the Queensland Heritage Register and the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register.

Southport Pier is a pier spanning the Gold Coast Broadwater in Southport, a suburb on the Gold Coast in South East Queensland, Australia. The current pier was constructed in 2009, replacing a previous structure demolished in 1969.

Sundale Apartments is a 55-storey tower in Southport, Australia, occupied by Meriton Suites and privately owned apartments. The building is one of the tallest on the Gold Coast and is the tallest in the Southport area. It is located in the Meriton Retail Precinct Sundale Southport and trades as Meriton Suites Southport.It was built by the billionaire developer Harry Triguboff for $400 million, with the first units going to market in 2014.

Humphreys Boat Shed was a heritage-listed workshop and slipway at Seaworld Drive, Main Beach, Queensland, Australia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 31 August 2001, but was removed in June 2015 having been destroyed. However the remnants of the boat shed and slipway are listed on the Gold Coast Local Heritage Register. 

Main Beach light rail station is the only light rail station servicing the Gold Coast suburb of Main Beach. The station is serviced by the Gold Coast's G:link light rail system. Main Beach is located on the western side of the Gold Coast Highway opposite the intersection of Tedder Avenue, Main Beach's main street.

Broadwater Parklands light rail station is located on Queen Street in the Gold Coast suburb of Southport. The station is part of the Gold Coast G:link light rail system and provides direct access to Southport Broadwater Parklands, a large community park situated on the Gold Coast Broadwater.

The 2002 Honda Indy 300 was the seventeenth round of the 2002 CART World Series season, held on 27 October 2002 on the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit, Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia. The race was marred by extremely wet conditions. The initial start resulted in a multi-car crash injuring Fernandez and Takagi. CART officials allowed teams to repair their cars or pull out backups. Postponing the race was not an option due to international travel, limited TV window, and logistics of the street course circuit. The race restarted on lap 3 with slightly improved conditions, but went back under yellow at lap 10 where it would remain until the race was called at lap 40. Michael Andretti's team believed the race would be called once the race passed official race status of the full lap past the halfway point (35 laps plus one) of the original distance (70 laps, but the race was shortened to 50 laps by officials after the start crash), but officials instead waited until lap 40 to force each car to make two pit stops. This gave Domínguez his first career win in the slowest race in CART history. For 2003, rules were changed to allow the race to be called prior to halfway with only half points being awarded. This rule was not implemented by IndyCar after the 2008 reunification.

Narrow Neck is the name of an isthmus that separates the anabranch of the Nerang River from the Coral Sea in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is also the boundary between the southern end of the suburb of Main Beach and the northern end of the suburb of Surfers Paradise.
