Chelker Reservoir is a man-made lake in North Yorkshire, England. It lies in the parish of Draughton, immediately north of the A65 road, between Skipton and the village of Addingham. It was put into service in 1866 and serves the Bradford area; it is currently owned by Yorkshire Water. The reservoir's main inflow is the River Wharfe.

Bolton Abbey is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England, 22 miles (35 km) north-west of Leeds. The village lies in Wharfedale, near the southern edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and just north of the border with West Yorkshire. The village takes its name from the monastery now generally known as Bolton Priory, and is adjacent to the Bolton Abbey Estate, which includes the priory ruins and extends beyond the parish. The church of Bolton Priory is now the parish church of Bolton Abbey. Bolton Abbey railway station lies 0.6 miles (1 km) south west of the village, just outside the parish boundary. The parish had a population of 111 in the 2011 census.

Bolton Abbey in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, England, takes its name from the ruins of the 12th-century Augustinian monastery now known as Bolton Priory. The priory, closed in the 1539 Dissolution of the Monasteries ordered by King Henry VIII, is in the Yorkshire Dales, next to the village of Bolton Abbey. The estate is open to visitors, and includes many miles of all-weather walking routes. The Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway terminates at Bolton Abbey station one and a half miles/2.5 km from Bolton Priory.

Bolton Priory, whose full title is The Priory Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert, Bolton Abbey, is a Grade I listed parish church of the Church of England in Bolton Abbey (village), within the Yorkshire Dales National Park in North Yorkshire, England. There has been continuous worship on the site since 1154, when a group of Augustinian canons moved from their original community in nearby village of Embsay and started construction of the present building, which is now situated within a scheduled monument under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. Despite the loss of most of the Priory buildings during the Dissolution of the Monasteries, the western half of the original nave was preserved so that the local parish could continue its worship there. There is today a full liturgical calendar, although a programme of other events, which formerly included the Bolton Priory Celebrity Organ Recitals, the Bolton Priory Mystery Play and the Bolton Priory Live Nativity, is now reduced to the Bolton Priory Concert Series and the annual St Cuthbert lecture. The Priory is a member of the Greater Churches Network, and pre-Covid welcomed more than 160,000 visitors a year.

The Cavendish memorial fountain is a drinking fountain erected in 1886 at Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire, England as a memorial to Lord Frederick Cavendish following his murder in Phoenix Park by the Irish National Invincibles in May 1882. The fountain is a Grade II listed building.

Farfield Friends Meeting House is a Quaker meeting house no longer regularly in use by a Quaker meeting and now owned by the Historic Chapels Trust. It is located some 2 miles (3 km) north of the village of Addingham, West Yorkshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

Beamsley is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is just within the boundary of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and about six miles east of Skipton and two miles north of Addingham. The village lies immediately south of the A59 road and on the eastern bank of the River Wharfe. According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 149, reducing to 139 at the 2011 Census. The parish is bordered by West Yorkshire to the south. The former Beamsley Methodist Church has been carefully modified, by the Beamsley Project Charitable Trust, to become a self-catering holiday centre for people with disabilities. The quiet roads around Beamsley make it a popular destination with cyclists with the Tour de France Grand Départ 2014 passing through the local area close to Beamsley.On the other side of the A59 to Beamsley village is the site of Beamsley Hospital. This building was noted for its odd design of seven rooms radiating out from a central area. This meant that to go to a room you had to pass through a chapel which was an encouragement to prayer. The Hospital is now managed by the Landmark Trust as self-catering accommodation. Beamsley Beacon (also known as Howber Hill) is east of the village and rises to 390.7 metres (1,282 ft) above sea level. The Beacon is notable for its stone cairns, one of which is supposedly there to mark the burial site of a chieftain from the Bronze Age. Stones on the beacon were also used to construct a guard hut during the Napoleonic Wars.JMW Turner painted a shooting party on Beamsley Beacon in 1816.In 2015, a memorial was unveiled to the Royal Canadian Air Force aircrew who died when their Lancaster Bomber crashed into the beacon. Four of the crew died and four survived. The bomber was flying out of RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire when it crashed in fog around midday on 5 November 1945.Although small, Base 3 Systems, an analytics consultancy and N.Peal, a luxury cashmere designer, have head offices in the village.

Halton East is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of Skipton. The population of the parish was estimated at 90 in 2015.The place was first recorded in the Domesday Book as Haltone. The name is derived from the Old English halh 'nook' and tūn 'farm or village', so means 'farm or village by a nook'. "East" was added to distinguish the village from another Halton, now Halton West, 12 miles (19 km) to the west.Halton East was historically a township in the large ancient parish of Skipton in the West Riding of Yorkshire. It became a separate civil parish in 1866. In 1974 it was transferred to the new county of North Yorkshire.

Beamsley Hospital is an Almshouse building at Beamsley, near Skipton in North Yorkshire, and founded in 1593 by the Lady Margaret Russell, the Countess of Cumberland. She had originally intended for the construction of accommodation for 13 poor widows, a Mother and 12 Sisters, but by her death in 1616 only the hospital and chapel building had been completed. Her daughter, Lady Anne Clifford, added the front range which provided accommodation for local widows of little means.The north range hospital and chapel building is circular in plan and is constructed as two stone drums, one inside the other, the inner drum rises through the roof of the main building, and contains windows that provides daylight into a chapel that lies within the heart of the building. Around the perimeter there was originally accommodation for a Mother and six Sisters. The nearby south range almhouses block is built in two storeys with a seven bay frontage with three one storey units at one end. The buildings remained in use until the 1970s, after which point the Hospital Trustees passed the property to the Landmark Trust in 1983, which has restored and preserved the buildings and made them available as historical holiday accommodation.The north wing of the complex is Grade I listed and the south wing listed Grade II*.

Draughton (pronounced Draftun) is a village and civil parish, population 240, in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Skipton. The Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway passes under a road bridge some 550 yards (500 m) north of the village. On 5 July 2014, the Tour de France Stage 1 from Leeds to Harrogate passed through the village.

Barden Tower is a ruined building in the Parish of Barden, in Wharfedale, North Yorkshire, England. The tower was used as a hunting lodge in the 15th and 16th centuries, and despite a renovation in the 1650s, it fell into disrepair in the 18th century. The tower is now part of the Bolton Estate and is listed as a medieval fortified tower. Along with other buildings on the Bolton Estate, it is a focal point and many people visit the tower. It is also a way marker on the 100-mile (160 km) Lady Anne's Way long distance path.

Barden is a civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It consists of the hamlet of Drebley and a few scattered houses in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales. The parish also includes two areas of moorland, Barden Fell to the east of the River Wharfe and Barden Moor to the west of the river. Both moorlands are access land, and are popular with walkers. Barden Fell rises to the prominent peak of Simon's Seat, and Barden Moor includes two scenic 19th century reservoirs. Much of the parish is on the Bolton Abbey estate.The parish is sparsely populated. At the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was less than 100, and the census statistics for the parish were therefore merged with those of the adjoining civil parish of Hazlewood with Storiths. In 2015, North Yorkshire County Council estimated that the population of the parish was 90.Barden is derived from the Old English berdene, and means the valley where the barley is grown.
