Brighton Hospital is one of the oldest alcoholism and addiction treatment centers in North America.

The Bingham House is a single-family home located at 13270 Silver Lake Road in Brighton, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Kensington is an unincorporated community and former village in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located within Lyon Township. Settled in 1831, Kensington suffered population loss when the railroad diverted the Detroit to Lansing traffic southward to South Lyon. The later building of I-96 and the Kensington Metropark in the 1950s caused the community to disappear.

Kensington Metropark is a unit of the Huron–Clinton Metroparks system located between Milford and South Lyon, Michigan, USA. The park covers 4,543 acres (18.13 km2). It has wooded hilly terrain and surrounds 1,200-acre (4.9 km2) Kent Lake (a dammed section of the Huron River). The park has an 18-hole regulation golf course, a disc golf course, toboggan hill, a nature center, a farm learning center, picnic areas, beaches, splash pad with water slide and boat rentals. An 8-mile (13 km) paved hike-bike trail, 19 miles (31 km) of horse trails and 7 miles (11 km) of hiking-only trails are available as well as connecting trails to other nearby parks. The only camping is in organized group camping or canoe-in sites. The park receives 2.5 million visitors a year. Kensington Metropark opened in 1947.

Kent Lake is a 1,200-acre (490 ha) reservoir lake formed by damming the Huron River near its headwaters. Kent Lake is mostly located in Oakland County, Michigan in Milford and Lyon Townships, with a small portion including its dam located in Green Oak Township, Livingston County, Michigan.Conceived as a large recreational lake (it was a 70-acre (28 ha) natural lake prior to impoundment), Kent Lake was dammed in 1946 by the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority. The current lake lies entirely within Kensington Metropark and Island Lake State Recreation Area. It has a maximum speed limit of 10 mph.

The Timothy and Lucretia Jones Warner Homestead is a farmstead and archaeological site (the Warner Site, designated 20LV334) located at 4001 Pleasant Valley Road near Brighton, Michigan.

Island Lake State Recreation Area is a state-run park in Green Oak Township, Livingston County, in metro Detroit in Michigan. The 4,000-acre (1,600 ha) park lies on the Huron River and Kent Lake, an impoundment of the river, just downstream of Kensington Metropark with which it is also connected by a bike trail. It is the third busiest park operated by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources with visitation of 1.09 million in 2008. The park is easily accessed as it lies near the intersection of I-96 and US-23. The park has a group campsite and a canoe-in campsite, several miles of hiking and biking trails, a shooting range, swimming and a couple of small lakes. It is the only Michigan park to have a hot air balloon launch area.

Green Oak Charter Township is a charter township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 19,539. In September 2005, the township board voted to incorporate as a charter township, becoming the second charter township in Livingston County.

South Lyon High School is a public high school located in South Lyon, Michigan, United States, and is part of South Lyon Community Schools. Its cross-town rival is South Lyon East High School.

Brighton Charter Township is a charter township of Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 census, the township population was 19,144. The township is bordered on the southwest by the city of Brighton, but the two are administered autonomously.
