Chislehurst railway station

Chislehurst Caves are a series of intersecting man-made tunnels and caverns covering some 22 miles (35.4 km) in Chislehurst in southeast London, England. From the mid-13th to early 19th centuries the 'caves' were created from the mining of flint and lime-burning chalk. Today the caves are a tourist attraction and although they are called caves, they are entirely man-made and were dug and used as chalk and flint mines. The earliest recorded mention of the mines and lime-burning kilns above dates from a 9th-century Saxon charter and then not again until around 1232AD; they are believed to have been last worked in the 1830s.During World War I the caves were used as an ammunition storage dump associated with the Royal Arsenal at Woolwich. In the 1930s the tunnels were used for mushroom cultivation.

Derwent House, on Camden Park Road, Chislehurst, Bromley, is one of a number of the locally renowned 'Willett-built' houses erected on the Camden Park Estate by high-class speculative builder William Willett in the 1900s. Willett bought the entire estate in 1890 with the intention of building on it all but the venture was not successful and he erected only a small number of houses there and on Wilderness Road. The remainder of the estate became the Chislehurst Golf Club with the mansion, Camden Place, becoming its clubhouse. Derwent House was erected in 1899. The design is inspired by the arts and crafts movement. It is of red brick in with a red clay tiled roof. It was designed by Ernest Newton and a ballroom was added in 1903 by Amos Faulkner (Willett's in-house architect). Faulkner also designed the detached motor house with carriage-wash canopy. Derwent is a Grade II listed building located within the Chislehurst Conservation Area. Willett lived in a similar Newton house further along at 88 Camden Park Road. A blue plaque on that building commemorates Willett as the promoter of daylight saving time.

Chislehurst Common is an open space in Chislehurst in the London Borough of Bromley in south-east London. It is jointly managed with St Paul's Cray Common. The common was used for cricket matches in the 18th century. It was the home venue of Chislehurst Cricket Club which played several known matches against London Cricket Club from 1738 to 1741. Cricket is still played on Chislehurst Common as the Chislehurst and West Kent Cricket Club has its ground in the south-west corner of the common on Cricket Ground Road.

Chislehurst Junction is an important railway junction near Chislehurst in the London Borough of Bromley, England. It is the point where the South Eastern Main Line and the Chatham Main Line pass over each other, with diversion chords between each line. These are arranged such that a London-bound train on one line can transfer to the other, and likewise for services heading away from the capital.

Bromley High School is a girls' independent school located in Bickley, Greater London. Originally located in the middle of Bromley, in 1981 it relocated to occupy new buildings set in 24 acres (9.7 ha) of grounds and playing fields. The Good Schools Guide describes the school: "Cool calm atmosphere pervades the corridors which are lined with notice boards announcing forthcoming events and successes. General impression is of a busy and active school."

Bickley is a district and a local government electoral ward in South East London, within the London Borough of Bromley and the historic county of Kent. It is located 10.4 miles (16.7 km) south east of Charing Cross, bordering Elmstead to the north, Chislehurst to the north-east and east, Petts Wood to the south-east, Southborough to the south, Bromley to the south-west and west and Widmore to the north-west.

Widmore is an area of Greater London, within the London Borough of Bromley and the historic county of Kent. It is located south-east of Sundridge, west of Bickley, north of Bromley Common, and east of Bromley.

Bullers Wood School is comprehensive girls’ school with a mixed Sixth Form academy school located on St Nicolas Lane in Chislehurst, part of the London Borough of Bromley. It is a member of the Bullers Wood Multi Academy Trust, along with Bullers Wood School for Boys.

Elmstead is a residential district in south-east London, England, within the London Borough of Bromley and the historic county of Kent. It is located north-east of Bromley.

Bromley and Chislehurst is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom since 2006 by Bob Neill, a Conservative.

Jubilee Country Park is a 62-acre (25 ha) public park in Petts Wood in the London Borough of Bromley. It is a Local Nature Reserve and a Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation. It was purchased by Bromley Council to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977, and opened as a park in 1981.The park is part of an extensive wildlife corridor together with Petts Wood and Scadbury Park. The London Loop goes through it. The park consists of extensive areas of grassland and ancient woodland. The grassland has a large population of the rare corkyfruit water dropwort, while midland hawthorns are abundant in the woodland. There is access from Southborough Lane, Blackbrook Lane and Tent Peg Lane.

Bickley railway station is on the Chatham Main Line in England, serving the town of Bickley in the London Borough of Bromley, south-east London. It is 11 miles 76 chains (19.2 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Bromley South and St Mary Cray on the main line. Southeastern trains branch from the main line south of Bickley and run to Orpington via Petts Wood. Thameslink services run either via Petts Wood or St Mary Cray on the main line. Bickley is in Travelcard Zone 5.
