Falkner Square

The Black Merchant Seamen War Memorial is a sandstone stone memorial, It is situated in Falkner Square, Liverpool. The stone is from the Liverpool Seamen's Hostel with a bronze plaque dedicated to all the Black Seamen who served during World War II. It was unveiled in 1993 on the 50th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic.

Falkner Street is a street mostly in Canning, with a short section in Edge Hill, Liverpool, England. The street, built during the early-mid 19th century, is named after Edward Falkner, who had previously commissioned the construction Falkner Square. Constructed at a time when Liverpool had less than 100,000 houses, the Falkner Street houses sold for around £1,000 (equivalent to £101923 in 2019) and were affordable to only the wealthiest 1% of the population.

Liverpool Women's Hospital is a major obstetrics, gynaecology and neonatology research hospital in Liverpool, England. It is one of several specialist hospitals located within the Liverpool City Region, alongside Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, the Walton Centre, Mersey Regional Burns and Plastic Surgery Unit and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. It is managed by the Liverpool Women's NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital receives approximately 50,000 patients annually and is the largest hospital for its specialism in Europe.

Canning ward is an electoral district of Liverpool City Council within the Liverpool Riverside and Liverpool Wavertree constituencies. The ward was created for the elections held on 4 May 2023 following a 2022 review by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, which decided that the previous 30 wards each represented by three Councillors should be replaced by 64 wards represented by 85 councillors with varying representation by one, two or three councillors per ward. The Canning ward was created as a two-member ward from the parts of the former Central, Picton and Princes Park wards. The ward includes Rodney Street, the Philharmonic Hall, the University of Liverpool, and the Liverpool Women's Hospital The ward boundaries follow Upper Parliament Street, Hope Street, Upper Duke Street, Roscoe Street, Mount Pleasant, Myrtle Street, Grove Street, Irvine Street, and Overbury Street.

The Merseyside Centre for the Deaf, formerly the Adult Deaf and Dumb Institute, is an 1887 Grade II listed building on Princes Avenue in Liverpool, England. In 2018 it was named by the Victorian Society as a heritage building at risk of disrepair. Initially built as a chapel for the Merseyside deaf community, the society said the "once grand" gothic structure was now in a "terrible state". For 20 years after it closed in 1986 it was run as a successful community centre for the local Igbo community but rising costs forced them out in 2007.The Merseyside Society for Deaf People (MSDP) is now a charity situated on Queens Drive retail park, west Derby. It has over 30 staff providing services across Merseyside, and moved into a new building in 2017.

On 14 November 2021, a taxi carrying a passenger arrived at the main entrance of Liverpool Women's Hospital in Liverpool, England. An improvised explosive device carried by the passenger ignited, killing him and injuring the driver. The police later declared it to be a terrorist incident. At the official inquest, on 30 December 2021, it was found that the device, manufactured and carried by the passenger, had been "designed to project shrapnel, with murderous intent".

The German Church (German: Deutsche Kirche) in Liverpool is in Bedford Street South/ Canning Street and is part of the German speaking churches of North England. The North of England German Protestant churches are members of the "Synod of German-speaking Lutheran, Reformed and United Congregations in Great Britain" and come under the care of the overseas department of the EKD (Evangelical Church in Germany). Services in German are held twice a month on the first (4:00 pm) and third Sundays (11:00 am). Regular Groups include a Faith discussion group, Wirral Circle and a Toddler Play Group.

Princes Road Synagogue is a synagogue on Princes Road in the Toxteth district of Liverpool, England. It is the home of the Liverpool Old Hebrew Congregation. It was founded in the late 1860s, designed by William James Audsley and George Ashdown Audsley, and consecrated on 2 September 1874. It is widely regarded as the finest example of the Moorish Revival style of synagogue architecture in the UK, and synagogues emulating its design can be found as far away as Sydney.

The Church of St. Margaret of Antioch is in Prince's Road, Toxteth, Liverpool, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Liverpool, the archdeaconry of Liverpool, and the deanery of Toxteth and Wavertree. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building.

The University of Liverpool Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology (also known as ACE) has 40 members of staff and over 300 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Welsh Presbyterian Church is a disused church on Princes Road in the Toxteth district of Liverpool, Merseyside, England. It is a redundant church of the Presbyterian Church of Wales, and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. Because of its tall steeple, the church has been nicknamed the "Welsh Cathedral", or "Toxteth Cathedral", although it was never an actual cathedral. In 2019, it received National Lottery Stage 1 funding to become a community hub after thirty years abandonment.

The Al-Rahma Mosque (Arabic: مسجد الرحمة, romanized: Masjid ar-Raḥmah, lit. 'Mosque of Mercy') is a mosque located on Hatherley Street in Toxteth, Liverpool, England, which can accommodate between 2,000 and 2,500 people and serves as the main place of worship and focus point for Liverpool's Muslim population, estimated at 25,000 people.
