KING-FM

KNKX (88.5 MHz) is a public radio station licensed to Tacoma, Washington, United States. A member of National Public Radio (NPR), it airs a jazz and news format for the Seattle metropolitan area. The station is owned by Pacific Public Media, a community-based non-profit organization. It operates from studios in downtown Seattle and downtown Tacoma. KNKX broadcasts from West Tiger Mountain in the Issaquah Alps with a power of 68,000 watts. The station originally debuted in 1966 as KPLU-FM, owned by Parkland-based Pacific Lutheran University (PLU). It became a community licensee in 2016 after a proposed sale to the University of Washington, owner of fellow NPR station KUOW-FM in Seattle, resulted in opposition from station listeners. KNKX runs jazz programs middays, evenings and overnight, and carries a variety of NPR programs in other dayparts, including All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! and Fresh Air. The locally produced BirdNote airs every morning.

KIRO-FM (97.3 MHz) is a commercial radio station licensed to Tacoma, Washington, and serving the Seattle-Tacoma radio market. It airs a news/talk radio format and is owned by Salt Lake City–based Bonneville International, a broadcasting company owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The studios and offices are located on Eastlake Avenue East in Seattle's Eastlake district.KIRO-FM starts weekdays with a news block, hosted by Dave Ross with anchor Colleen O'Brien. The rest of the weekday schedule is made up of local talk hosts, including the highest rated local talk show host in the nation, Dori Monson. At night, two nationally syndicated shows are heard, Coast to Coast AM with George Noory and This Morning, America's First News with Gordon Deal. Weekends feature shows on money, health, food and veterans, some of which are paid brokered programming. Nights and weekends, world and national news from CBS News Radio begins most hours. KIRO-FM's transmitter is on Tiger Mountain in Issaquah. Its effective radiated power (ERP) is 52,000 watts (55,000 with beam tilt). KIRO-FM broadcasts in the HD (digital) radio format. The HD-2 digital subchannel simulcasts co-owned KIRO (710 AM)'s sports radio format. The HD-3 signal airs KTTH (770 AM)'s conservative talk format.

KWDK (channel 56) is a religious television station licensed to Tacoma, Washington, United States, broadcasting the Daystar Television Network to the Seattle area. The station is owned and operated by Community Television Educators, Inc., a subsidiary of Daystar parent company Word of God Fellowship. KWDK's transmitter is located on West Tiger Mountain near Issaquah.

KQMV is the flagship station of the syndicated "Brooke & Jeffrey" morning show, hosted by Brooke Fox, Jeffrey Dubow, Jose Bolanos, and Alexis Fuller. The show is distributed by Premiere Networks.

The Issaquah Alps is the unofficial name for the highlands near Issaquah, Washington, a suburb of Seattle, including Cougar Mountain, Squak Mountain, Tiger Mountain, Taylor Mountain, Rattlesnake Ridge, Rattlesnake Mountain, and Grand Ridge. The term was invented in 1977 by noted nature author Harvey Manning within the pages of his trail guidebook Footsore 1, elevating their status from foothills to "Alps" to advocate preservation. Manning himself lived on a developed section of Cougar Mountain in his "200 meter hut". In 1979, Harvey Manning helped to found the Issaquah Alps Trails Club to care for the trails and to push for public ownership of the Alps. The IATC, which is headquartered in Issaquah (nicknamed "Trailhead City"), conducts frequent guided hikes throughout the Alps. The Issaquah Alps follow Interstate 90 from the shore of Lake Washington almost to the western face of the Cascade Range. The hills are composed of andesitic volcanic rock lying on top of older tightly folded rocks from the coastal plain of the North Cascade subcontinent that docked with Washington about 50 million years ago as the entire continent of North America moved west across the ocean. The Alps were heavily eroded by glaciers in the last ice age. The Vashon lobe of the ice sculpted Rattlesnake Ledge, steeply carved the east and west sides of Squak Mountain, and deposited a large erratic on Cougar Mountain, Fantastic Erratic. Cedar Butte rises abruptly from the moraine between Rattlesnake Ledge and the absolute front of the Cascades. It is sometimes considered part of the Issaquah Alps but it is a relatively young symmetrical volcanic cone and is therefore more closely related to neighboring Mount Washington to the east than the old weathered hills of the majority of the Alps.

High Point is an unincorporated community in King County, in the U.S. state of Washington.High Point, on the eastern fringe of Issaquah, is named for its location at the highest point on a railroad grade. Once the location of a significant lumber mill and railway station, it is now only a small collection of houses on large lots along I-90 at the "High Point Way" exit, and a Tiger Mountain trailhead.

Tiger Mountain is a mountain in the U.S. state of Washington. It is at the center of the Issaquah Alps, a small range in the Eastside region of King County, Washington southeast of Seattle. The mountain is part of a designated protected area, the Tiger Mountain State Forest, and has several recreational areas used for hiking, mountain biking, and paragliding.

Tradition Lake is located at the base of Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, Washington. There is a popular interpretive trail around the lake.

Issaquah Highlands is a planned community and mixed-use neighborhood in Issaquah, a suburb of Seattle, Washington, United States. The neighborhood, located northeast of downtown Issaquah at Grand Ridge on the Sammamish Plateau, was planned in the New Urbanism style and opened in 1998 after a decade of planning and construction. The Issaquah Highlands occupy 2,200 acres (890 ha), of which 490 acres (200 ha) are incorporated into the city and 1,520 acres (620 ha) are preserved as public open space. It plans to have approximately 3,250 residential units, 2.95 million square feet (274,000 m2) of commercial space, and 425,000 square feet (39,500 m2) of retail space upon full build-out. The neighborhood has an approximate population of 9,000 people as of 2015.
