At midday on December 13, 2009, Steven Koecher (born November 1, 1979) parked at the end of a cul-de-sac in the Anthem neighborhood of Henderson, Nevada, United States and got out of his car, an action recorded on a nearby home's security camera. After returning shortly afterwards, he retrieved something from the vehicle and walked away, with another security camera capturing his reflection in a car window. Koecher has not been seen since, although some activity was recorded on his cell phone over the next two days.Koecher's absence from his home, work, and church activities in St. George, Utah, was not noted for several days; eventually, the homeowners' association of Anthem, where he had parked, got in touch with his employer and then his parents about the abandoned car, at which time he was reported missing. Police had few leads at first, since it appeared he had intended to return to Utah and did not appear to be involved in any criminal activities. The reason for his trip to the Las Vegas area that day has never been determined; his family believes he was looking for work since he could not make the full rent payments on his apartment with the job he had. Searches in the area around where he was last seen yielded no evidence. Further investigation found credit card and cell phone receipts and witness statements showing that in the week prior to his disappearance, Koecher had been driving great distances around Utah and Nevada, including almost 1,100 miles (1,800 km) in one day. The purpose of these trips is also unknown; on one he stopped to visit a former girlfriend's parents and had lunch at their house.Joshua Powell, a West Valley City man suspected of murder in the disappearance of his wife Susan Powell – which took place a week before Koecher's – argued along with his father and brother that the two cases were related, suggesting the two were romantically involved and had run off together. Both Susan's family and Koecher's have dismissed that theory. The Koecher case has been the subject of an episode of the Investigation Discovery channel's Disappeared series.

Liberty High School (also referred to as LHS) is a high school in Henderson in the U.S. state of Nevada. It is part of the Clark County School District. Liberty considers itself to be a "classical school." This is because through Liberty's curriculum, one can study Latin, as well as focus on the history and society of ancient Rome and Greece.

Green Valley Ranch is a hotel and casino located within the eponymous community in Henderson, Nevada. It is owned and operated by Station Casinos, and includes a 143,891 sq ft (13,367.9 m2) casino. The resort was initially proposed by American Nevada Corporation, which received city approval to build it in 1996. In addition to a hotel-casino, the company also planned to build a mixed-use project to accompany it. Construction began in 2000, after American Nevada partnered with Station Casinos, which would co-own and operate the property. Green Valley Ranch opened on December 18, 2001, with 201 rooms and a 50,000 sq ft (4,600 m2) casino. While a locals casino, the resort was designed with an upscale element. Built at a cost of $300 million, it was Station's most expensive resort up to that point, and the most expensive locals casino in Las Vegas history. The resort includes various restaurants, a Regal Cinemas movie theater, and a spa. American Nevada's mixed-use project opened on adjacent property in 2004, as The District at Green Valley Ranch. A hotel expansion opened in 2005, increasing the room count to 497. Station took over full ownership of the resort in June 2011.

The District at Green Valley Ranch is a mixed-use development in Green Valley Ranch, a neighborhood in the city of Henderson, Nevada. It is located east of the Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino, and includes retail, restaurant, office, and residential space. The District, like the resort, was developed by American Nevada Corporation. Planning for a mixed-use project dates to 1996, as part of the resort plans. The District's first phase was opened on April 15, 2004, becoming the first mixed-use project in the Las Vegas Valley. A second phase opened in 2005, on a separate parcel located just east of the original phase. The District was hurt financially due to the Great Recession, and American Nevada eventually sold it to lenders in 2011. Vestar Development took over ownership later that year with Rockwood Capital as a partner, before buying out the latter's interest in 2015.

The Dollar Loan Center is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Henderson, Nevada. Built on the site of the former Henderson Pavilion, it is the home of the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League, the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League and the NBA G League Ignite of the NBA G League. The City of Henderson is the building owner with the National Hockey League's Vegas Golden Knights as its operator. The Dollar Loan Center seats 5,567 for hockey and football. Initially called the Henderson Event Center, on March 30, 2021, the Golden Knights and Silver Knights announced a naming rights partnership with Dollar Loan Center, a Las Vegas-based short-term loan company, for the arena to be called The Dollar Loan Center. The name of the arena is disambiguated with the article "The" to differentiate it from the company.The arena's primary function is to serve as the home of the Henderson Silver Knights of the American Hockey League and the arena was constructed primarily for that purpose. The Vegas Golden Knights purchased the AHL franchise known as the San Antonio Rampage on February 6, 2020, from Spurs Sports & Entertainment.
