Bec School

Tooting is a constituency created in 1974 in Greater London. It is represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2016 by Dr. Rosena Allin-Khan, a member of the Labour Party.

Ernest Bevin College is a secondary school and sixth form for boys located in Tooting, London, England. The school is all-boys for ages 11 through 16, but has a co-educational sixth form. It has about 1,173 pupils. The school was judged as 'requiring improvement' in a November 2018 report by Ofsted.

Hillcroft School was a boys' secondary school in South London. In 1960, it was established in Tooting Bec, being built on playing fields of, and adjacent to, the premises of Bec School. The initial complement of pupils were drawn from Hillbrook Secondary School in Hillbrook Road, Tooting, and Estreham Secondary School in Penwortham Road, Streatham (housed in the same building as Penwortham Primary School). Hillbrook and Estreham then closed. The school closed when it was amalgamated with Bec School in 1971 to create Bec-Hillcroft Comprehensive School. Bec-Hillcroft was renamed Ernest Bevin School, after the former Labour minister Ernest Bevin, in the next year. In 1996, the school was renamed to Ernest Bevin College.

Totterdown Fields was the first London County Council cottage estate built between 1901 and 1911 It contained 1244 individual houses built over 38 acres (15 ha). The estate was designated a conservation area, on 19 September 1978.

The King's Head is a Grade II listed public house at 84 Upper Tooting Road, Tooting, London SW17 7PB.It was built in 1896 by the architect W. M. Brutton.It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors. CAMRA describe it as "an historic pub interior of national importance". Grade II listing;- I 1896 by W M Brunton, a prolific designer of public houses. Perhaps his masterpiece and his least altered interior. Florid symmetrical composition; brashness of detail typical of late 19th century gin palace. Red brick with stucco ornamentation. Slate roof. Central portion three windows three-storeys, steep hipped roof rising to a dome. Large decorated lucarne over second floor windows, bears inscription "The Kings Head". First floor three pairs of French windows open on to verandah with iron balustrade and ogee roof. Ground floor splayed bay with entrance to bar. Flanking portion each side two-storeys plus mansard with pointed dormer behind balustrade. Wings each side 1 1/2-storeys, one window, ramped parapet pierced by a bull's-eye window on the left. Right wing a facade only; first floor window is blank with inscription "Rebuilt 1896". Interior rich with cut brilliant glass, patterned tiles and wrought iron. Today, Kings head is known as a busy sports pub. It was recently voted as "Best Pub in Tooting" by Londonist.com. During Euro 2020, Kings Head hosted the official trophy for a day, which brought hundreds of people from all around London. It appeared on ITV news.

It is located on the junction of Trinity Road (heading north-west), Upper Tooting Road (south-west), Balham High Road (north-east), Tooting Bec Road (south-east) and Stapleton Road (also south-east). The station is in Travelcard Zone 3.
