The Bell Tower of Berlin Olympic Stadium was a 77-metre-high (253 ft) observation tower that was built in 1934 after plans by Professor Werner March. The steel skeleton construction was faced with dressed limestone. The tower is located at the western end of the Olympiastadion. After the Second World War Soviet troops accidentally set the tower's contents on fire and it was no longer stable. Therefore, the British engineers blew it up in 1947. The Olympic Bell – weighing 9.60 tons, which had survived the fire and remained in its place in the tower – fell 77 metres (253 ft), cracked and has been unable to sound since then. In 1956 the bell was rescued, only in order to be used as a practice target using anti-tank ammunition. The old bell survives to this day and serves now as a memorial. Between 1960 and 1962 the tower was rebuilt following the old plans, although the tower is now 77.17 metres (253.2 ft) high. In it hangs the present Olympic Bell weighing 4.50 tons with the German Federal Eagle, the Brandenburg Gate and the texts between the Olympic Rings (in German language): "Olympic Games 1936" and "I call the youth of the world". The bell rings the note F sharp. The tower is an important tourist destination offering a panorama of Berlin, Spandau, the Havel Valley, Potsdam, Nauen and Hennigsdorf.

The Waldbühne (Woodland Stage or Forest Stage) is a theatre at Olympiapark Berlin in Berlin, Germany. It was designed by German architect Werner March in emulation of a Greek theatre and built between 1934 and 1936 as the Dietrich-Eckart-Freilichtbühne (Dietrich Eckart Open Air Theater), a Nazi Thingplatz, and opened in association with the 1936 Summer Olympics. Since World War II it has been used for a variety of events, including boxing matches, film showings and classical and rock concerts. It seats more than 22,000 people. The venue is located off Friedrich-Friesen-Allee just northeast of Glockenturmstraße.

The Murellenberge, the Murellenschlucht and the Schanzenwald are a hilly landscape formed during the Weichselian Ice Age in the Berlin district of Ruhleben in the Westend part of the District of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The area is located to the west of the Olympic site. The largest part of the upslope and terminal moraine landscape is designated as nature reserve Murellenschlucht und Schanzenwald, which is part of the biotope network Fließwiese Ruhleben, Tiefwerder Wiesen and Grunewald. About 1.5 kilometers northeast of the area (from Murellenberg) is the natural monument Murellenteich. The Murellenberge (often referred to as 'Murellenberg', formerly: Morellenberge) are part of the Teltownordband, which forms the northernmost spur of the Teltow plateau to the Berliner Urstromtal. The connection of the original natural area was largely lost due to urban development. The up to 62 meter high mountains and the up to 30 meter incised basin have a diverse and endangered flora and fauna, especially in their dry grassland areas. Used as a military and police area for over 150 years, the forest stands in the Schanzenwald were able to develop almost undisturbed. The Waldbühne was built in the eastern part of the ravine in 1936 under the direction of the architect Werner March. The National Socialists set up an execution site in the mountains for deserters and so-called "wehrkraftzersetzer". The Installation Memorial to the Murdered by Nazi Military Justice on the Murellenberg by the artist Patricia Pisani from 2002 commemorates the victims.

The Berlin 1939–1945 War Cemetery is one of two Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) cemeteries in Berlin, the other being the World War I Berlin South-Western Cemetery in Stahnsdorf, Brandenburg. The Berlin 1939–1945 War Cemetery was established in 1945 as a central burial ground for aircrew and prisoners of war who were interred in the Berlin area and in East Germany. There are also 260 burials from the post-war British Occupation Authorities staff, or their relatives. Of the wartime burials, about 80% are aircrew, killed in action over Germany: the remainder are prisoners of war.

The Maifeld (German: Mayfield) is a venue in the Olympiapark Berlin. It was created as a huge lawn (112,000 square metres, 28 acres) for gymnastic demonstrations, specifically annual May Day celebrations by Hitler's government. The open field’s dimensions were 290 meters by 375 meters. The total capacity was 250,000 on its for rallies and 44,000 in the large stands on its west end. The Maifeld was designed by Werner March. During the 1936 Olympics, the Maifeld was used for the Polo competition and equestrian dressage events. During the games the stands at the Bell Tower 4,500 seats, and accommodated 44,000 standees. Stands on the two sides perpendicular to the Bell Tower stands each provided standing room for 14,000 spectators. This allowed 75,000 spectators can be accommodated during the Olympics. The Bell Tower was built with a searchlight that provided lighting for the Mayfield, and an observation platform that could be reached via an electric lift. After World War II the British military occupation forces (Berlin Infantry Brigade) annually celebrated The Queen's Official Birthday on the Maifeld and used it for a variety of sporting activities including Cricket. Starting in 2012, Maifeld became home to the Berlin Cricket Club. In more recent years the Maifeld has also hosted many concerts.

The Transmitter Stallupöner Allee, Berlin is a transmission site for medium wave radio broadcasts situated on the Stallupöner Allee ("Stallupone Avenue") in Berlin-Charlottenburg, Germany. This transmission site was established in 1948. It uses as aerial a 130-metre-high guyed steel framework mast with triangular section, which is insulated against ground. Until 1998 there was a second insulated guyed steel framework mast on the site. It was replaced by a small freestanding steel framework tower. The transmission power of the medium wave transmitter was reduced during the nineties from 100 kilowatts to 2.5 kilowatts.

On 21 March 2013, two helicopters of the German Federal Police collided while landing in front of Berlin Olympic Stadium, Germany, in whiteout conditions. One crew member was killed and nine other people, both on board the helicopters and on the ground, were injured.

Deutsches Stadion was a multi-use sports stadium in Berlin, Germany. It was located at Deutsches Sportforum in the present-day Westend quarter on the northern rim of the large Grunewald forest. Built according to plans designed by Otto March, it was opened on 8 June 1913, on the occasion of Emperor Wilhelm's II silver jubilee, due to host the 1916 Summer Olympics that were cancelled after the outbreak of World War I. The stadium was destroyed 20 years later and replaced by the current Olympiastadion.

The Stößenseebrücke is a steel truss bridge over the Stößensee and the Havelchaussee in the Berlin district of Spandau. The listed bridge from 1908/1909 is part of Heerstraße (federal highway 2/5) and connects the Spandau district of Wilhelmstadt with the Westend district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The biggest technical and financial problem during the construction of the Heerstraße was bridging the Havel lowland, which includes the Stößensee, an old arm of the Havel. From several options, including an additional 250-meter-long bridge over the Scharfe Lanke, the planners opted for a route that could manage with two bridges - over the Havel and the Stößensee. With regard to the variants of the Stößensee bridge, the "small" solution with a dam embankment and a bridge around 100 meters long was chosen instead of a bridge over the entire lake. The bridge consists of a system of cantilever girders with connected towing girders and has a span of around 50 meters. It was designed by civil engineer Karl Bernhard.

At the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, 29 athletics events were contested, 23 for men and 6 for women. The program of events was unchanged from the previous Games. There was a total of 776 participants from 43 countries competing.

The Olympiastadion (German pronunciation: [oˈlʏmpi̯aˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn]) is a sports stadium at Olympiapark Berlin in Berlin, Germany. It was originally built by Werner March for the 1936 Summer Olympics. During the Olympics, the record attendance was thought to be over 100,000. Today the stadium is part of the Olympiapark Berlin. Since renovations in 2004, the Olympiastadion has a permanent capacity of 74,475 seats and is the largest stadium in Germany for international football matches. The Olympiastadion is a UEFA category four stadium and one of the world's most prestigious venues for sporting and entertainment events. Besides its use as an athletics stadium, the arena has built a footballing tradition. Since 1963, it has been the home of the Hertha BSC. It hosted three matches in the 1974 FIFA World Cup. It was renovated for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, when it hosted six matches, including the final. The DFB-Pokal final match is held each year at the venue. The Olympiastadion Berlin served as a host for the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup as well as the 2015 UEFA Champions League Final.
