Easington Greyhound Stadium, also known as Moorfield Stadium, was a greyhound racing stadium in Sunderland Road, Easington, County Durham.

Easington is a constituency created in 1950 represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Grahame Morris of the Labour Party.

Easington was, from 1974 to 2009, a local government district in eastern County Durham, England. It contained the settlements of Easington, Seaham, Peterlee, Murton, Horden, Blackhall, Wingate and Castle Eden. It did not however include Easington Lane which is administered as part of the City of Sunderland. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of Seaham urban district with most of Easington Rural District. It had the lowest percentage of foreign-born residents in England at 1.2% (2001 census).The district was abolished as part of the 2009 structural changes to local government in England. An electoral ward in the name of Easington still exists. The population of this ward taken at the 2011 census was 7,693.

Stony Cut, Cold Hesledon is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Easington district of north-east County Durham, England. It consists of a shallow cutting alongside Seaham Golf Course close to the village of Cold Hesledon. The cutting exposes a section of Late Permian Ford Formation (Zechstein) dolomite in which the transition from the flat to the crest of the shelf-edge of an ancient reef is clearly visible. The site has been designated as of national importance in the Geological Conservation Review.

Dalton Old Pump House, formerly Dalton Pumping Station, is a Victorian former pumping station at Cold Hesledon, near Dalton-le-Dale in County Durham in England. It used to provide drinking water for Sunderland and the surrounding district and now functions as a wedding venue. Built in the Venetian Gothic Revival style, it is a grade II* listed building. Inside, a pair of beam engines (dating from 1873-79, when the complex was built) remain preserved in place, though they are no longer operational.

Originally known as Glendene School, it converted to academy status since September 2012 and was renamed Glendene Arts Academy. It was formally reopened by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh following a £2.3 million refurbishment.In 2014, a report was released by the Education Funding Agency—who are responsible for funding and monitoring the finances of free schools and academies—alleging financial mismanagement and demanding the school repay £162,000 of taxpayers' money. A spokesperson said that the school had engaged in a "serious mismanagement of funds" Following the publication of the report, three people connected to the school were arrested by police on suspicion of fraud and released on bail.The school has since been renamed Hope Wood Academy and is now sponsored by the Ascent Academies’ Trust.

Easington Academy is a secondary school with academy status located in the village of Easington, County Durham, England. The school was first created as Easington Comprehensive School in 1978, as a result of a merger between Easington Secondary Modern School and Murton Secondary Modern School. The school was later renamed Easington Community School, and then Easington Community Science College in January 2007 after becoming a specialist science college. The school has become an academy school, and is now known as Easington Academy.

Easington, also known as Easington Village, is a village and civil parish in eastern County Durham, England. It is located at the junction of the A182 and B1283, leading north-west to Hetton-le-Hole and south east to Horden. It is near the A19, which travels north to Seaham and Sunderland as well as south to Peterlee and Stockton-on-Tees. The population of Easington Village was 2,164 in 2001, increasing slightly to 2,171 at the 2011 Census.

Hawthorn Dene is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the Easington district of County Durham, England. The site occupies the incised valley of Hawthorn Burn and extends from just south of the village of Hawthorn eastward as far as the Durham Coast railway line: the area between the railway line and the sea forms part of the Durham Coast SSSI. Much of the area consists of semi-natural and relatively undisturbed woodland that has developed on Magnesian Limestone; within Durham, only Castle Eden Dene SSSI has a larger area under this type of vegetation. At the eastern end of the dene, the woodland gives way to magnesian limestone grassland, while at the western end there is an area of tall fen vegetation. Much of the woodland is dominated by ash, Fraxinus excelsior, but in places wych elm, Ulmus glabra is dominant; such woodland is scarce in Durham. Another notable feature is the occurrence of yew, Taxus baccata, on the lower valley slopes, this being rare in Britain.

Little Thorpe is a hamlet in County Durham, England. It is situated between Easington and Peterlee. This small settlement literally derives its name from the fact it is a small village, as "Thorpe" is Anglo-Saxon for village. It seems to have been a community that was originally centred on a farmstead, and most of the buildings appear to be in the Elizabethan style, but are more probably Victorian in age.

Easington Colliery is a town in County Durham, England, known for a history of coal mining. It is situated to the north of Horden, a short distance to the east of Easington Village. The town suffered a significant mining accident on 29 May 1951, when an explosion in the mine resulted in the deaths of 83 men. Easington had a population of 4,959 in 2001, and 5,022 at the 2011 Census.The town's prominence increased after its use as the fictional Everington in the film Billy Elliot (2000), starring Jamie Bell.
