Porto Brandão is a locality in the freguesia of Caparica e Trafaria, Almada Municipality, Portugal. With an excellent strategic location, it is situated by the Tejo river.

The Fort of São Sebastião de Caparica (Portuguese: Forte de São Sebastião de Caparica) also known as the Tower of São Sebastião (Portuguese: Torre de São Sebastião) or Fortress of the Old Tower (Portuguese: Fortaleza de Torre Velha) is a medieval fortification located in Monte da Caparica, civil parish of Caparica, in the municipality of Almada, in the Portuguese central region of Península de Setúbal. The fortress of Torre Velha is one of the more important examples of Renaissance-era military architecture, at a time when it served as part of an integrated system of defensive artillery outposts at the end of the 15th and beginning of the 16th century, in particular with the bulwarks of Cascais (1498) and São Vicente (1512).

Instituto Superior de Ciências da Saúde Egas Moniz (ISCSEM) is the largest private institute of learning in Portugal dedicated to higher studies in the medical field. Founded in 1987 it currently offers 15 degrees, from BsC to MsC.

Caparica is a former civil parish in the municipality (concelho) of Almada, Lisbon metropolitan area, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged with the civil parish of Trafaria into the new parish Caparica e Trafaria. The population in 2011 was 20,454, in an area of 11.02 km2.

The NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT NOVA or NOVA SST) is a Portuguese faculty of the NOVA University Lisbon located at the Caparica Campus, near Lisbon. The School operates with great autonomy and award degrees in several engineering and natural sciences specializations. FCT pioneered in offering the first strictly computer science degree in Portugal.

Caparica e Trafaria is a civil parish in the municipality of Almada, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Caparica and Trafaria. The population in 2011 was 26,150, in an area of 16.75 km2.

Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Portuguese pronunciation: [pɐˈdɾɐ̃w̃ duʃ dɨʃkubɾiˈmẽtuʃ]; lit. Monument of the Discoveries) is a monument on the northern bank of the Tagus River estuary, in the civil parish of Santa Maria de Belém, Lisbon. Located along the river where ships departed to explore and trade with India and the Orient, the monument celebrates the Portuguese Age of Discovery (or "Age of Exploration") during the 15th and 16th centuries.

The Museu de Arte Popular is an Art museum in Lisbon, Portugal.It was originally designed by Veloso Reis and João Simões for the Portuguese World Exhibition's popular life pavilion in 1940, and after the exhibition was refurbished and in 1948.

The Monument to the First Aerial Crossing of the South Atlantic is a monument in Lisbon, Portugal, placed at Brasília Avenue, within the civil parish of Belém. It consists of a stainless steel replica sculpture of Fairey III biplane, that was used by Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral during their 1922 South Atlantic aerial crossing. Inside are also installed their life-sized busts. It was designed by architects Martins Bairrada and Leopoldo Soares Branc, and sculptor Domingos Soares Branco, and unveiled in 1991.

Belém Tower (Portuguese: Torre de Belém, pronounced [ˈtoʁ(ɨ) dɨ bɨˈlɐ̃ȷ̃]), officially the Tower of Saint Vincent (Portuguese: Torre de São Vicente) is a 16th-century fortification located in Lisbon that served as a point of embarkation and disembarkation for Portuguese explorers and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon. It was built during the height of the Portuguese Renaissance, and is a prominent example of the Portuguese Manueline style, but it also incorporates hints of other architectural styles. The structure was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and a 30-metre (98.4 ft), four-storey tower. Since 1983, the tower has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the Jerónimos Monastery. It is often portrayed as a symbol of Europe's Age of Discoveries and as a metonym for Portugal or Lisbon, given its landmark status. It has incorrectly been stated that the tower was built in the middle of the Tagus and now sits near the shore because the river was redirected after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. In fact, the tower was built on a small island in the Tagus river near the Lisbon shore.

The Belém Cultural Center (Portuguese: Centro Cultural de Belém), is a complex of artistic venues located in Belém in the city of Lisbon. It is the largest building with cultural facilities in Portugal, with over 140,000 m2 (1,500,000 sq ft) of usable space. The centre was initially built to accommodate the programme of Portugal's Presidency of the European Council in 1992, but with the long-term goal of providing permanent venues for conferences, exhibitions and performance arts (such as opera, ballet and concerts), in addition to meeting halls, shops and cafés.
