La Rabatelière (French pronunciation: [la ʁabat(ə)ljɛʁ]) is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France.

Chavagnes-en-Paillers (French pronunciation: [ʃavaɲ ɑ̃ paje]) is a commune of the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France. Chavagnes en Paillers is known as one of the two villes saintes (holy towns) of the Vendée. (The other is Saint-Laurent-sur-Sèvre). It is home to the mother-houses of two religious congregations: the Sons of Mary Immaculate and the Ursulines of Jesus, both founded by the Roman Catholic priest Louis-Marie Baudouin in about 1802 in the wake of the French Revolution (1789) and the War in the Vendée (mainly 1793-1796). Still present also in Chavagnes is the seminary Baudouin founded for the training of boys and men destined for the priesthood. It was the first junior seminary to be approved in France after the Revolution. It now continues as Chavagnes International College, an international Catholic boarding school for boys, teaching through the medium of English. The word Chavagnes is thought to come from the dog Latin cabanas, meaning cabins. The inhabitants are known as Chavagnais.

The Chavagnes Studium is an English-speaking international centre for the study of the Liberal Arts, founded in 2002 as part of Chavagnes International College, an educational institution in the Vendée in the west of France. The Studium supports the postgraduate work of the Fellows of the college, is involved in adult education and also organises seminars and conferences open to the public. From September 2018 the Studium offers, in conjunction with the Institut catholique d'études supérieures, a local Catholic university, a UK-validated Bachelor of Arts degree in the Liberal Arts with French, based on the model followed by Liberal Arts Colleges in the United States.

Chavagnes International College is an independent Catholic secondary school for boys, located in Chavagnes-en-Paillers, France. Founded in 1802 by Louis-Marie Baudouin the school was re-fashioned an "international college" in 2002. The school's language of instruction is English, and it prepares pupils for British GCSEs and A-levels, with the French Brevet and Baccalauréat as options. The College claims to be a traditional English school in France. Although pupils come from Britain and other English-speaking countries there are also more and more pupils from France. In this international environment, modern languages are particularly strong, with many boys taking GCSE languages (French, German, Spanish, English) one or two years early. Older boys often speak several languages fluently.

Saint-Fulgent (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ fylʒɑ̃]) is a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France.

The Battle of Saint-Fulgent (22 September 1793) saw Royalist and Republican French forces clash at Saint-Fulgent during the War in the Vendée. The 11,000 Vendean rebels, led by Henri de La Rochejaquelein, defeated a 6,000-man republican division, commanded by Jean Quirin de Mieszkowski and belonging to the Army of the Coasts of La Rochelle. Half of the Republican force was killed, wounded or captured, but rebel losses were only one tenth as many. In mid-September, the Republican Army of the Coasts of La Rochelle, led by Jean Antoine Rossignol, advanced into the Vendée from the south and the east while the Army of the Coasts of Brest and the Army of Mainz, under Jean Baptiste Camille Canclaux, advanced from the west. In a series of battles at Coron, Pont-Barré, Tiffauges, Montaigu and Saint-Fulgent, the royalist rebels concentrated against and defeated each republican column in turn.

Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɔʁʒ də mɔ̃tɛgy], literally Saint Georges of Montaigu) is a former commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region in western France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Montaigu-Vendée.
