Piquecos

The Canton of Montauban-1 is one of the 15 cantons of the Tarn-et-Garonne department, in southern France. Since the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015, the canton covers the western part of the commune of Montauban.

Montastruc (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃tastʁyk]) is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Note that Montrastruc is not the site of the "Montastruc rock shelter" in which prehistoric remains have been found in Bruniquel. Honor-de-Cos is a rural town with 1,600 inhabitants in 2020. It is part of the Montauban attraction area. Its inhabitants are called Honorois or Honoroises. The town has a remarkable natural heritage: a Natura 2000 site (The "valleys of the Tarn, Aveyron, Viaur, Agout and Gijou"), a protected area (the "course of the Garonne, 'Aveyron, Viaur and Tarn') and three natural areas of ecological, faunal and floristic interest.

The Aveyron (French pronunciation: [aveʁɔ̃] ; Occitan: Avairon) is a 291 km long river in southern France, right tributary of the Tarn. It rises in the southern Massif Central, near Sévérac-le-Château. In 1855 evidence of prehistoric man was found near Bruniquel under a hill called Montastruc. The hill was 98 foot high. The account said the overhang extended for about 46 feet along the river and the area enclosed was 298 square yards. Within this cave was found the 13,000-year-old sculpture called Swimming Reindeer.

Barry-d'Islemade (French pronunciation: [baʁi dilmad]; Occitan: Lo Barri d'Ilamada) is a commune in the Tarn-et-Garonne department in the Occitanie region in southern France.

The Monument aux Morts de Montauban is an 1894 bronze sculpture by Antoine Bourdelle. His romantic vision of the monument generated many violent oppositions. Auguste Rodin's intervention in 1897 enabled Bourdelle to do this sculpture without any compromise. The monument was erected in Montauban, in the department of Tarn-et-Garonne, in 1902.
