Cardaillac (French pronunciation: ​[kaʁdajak]; Occitan: Cardalhac) is a commune in the Lot department in south-western France. It is located 9 km (5.6 mi) northwest of Figeac. The village is located on the edge of the Limargue—a rich agricultural region—and Ségala, a poor rye-and chestnut-producing region. It has a rich medieval history and has been officially listed as one of the "most beautiful French villages". A stronghold was built on a rocky promontory above Cardaillac from 1064 at the orders of Hugo, Lord of Cardaillac. Today only three towers remain, dating from the thirteenth century. In 1188 it was attacked by Richard the Lionheart soon before his accession to the throne. On 11 May 1944, three youths were executed by the "Das Reich" division, which subsequently massacred the population of Oradour-sur-Glane.

The Château de Masclat is a castle in the commune of Masclat in the Lot département of France.In the 13th century, the castle was held by the Cardaillac family. The edifice has a H-shaped plan, following various additions to the original central square tower. A second tower is discernible to the north, as well as traces of medieval openings. The cellar level, half underground, still has many remains from this period. In the 15th or 16th century, a tower with staircase was added to the corner. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the façades, the entrances and the interior arrangements were reorganised. Two dependant buildings line the cour d'honneur, one from the 17th century and the other from the 19th, built with stone brought from the former priory at Camilnel.The Château de Masclat is privately owned and is not open to the public. It has been listed since 2007 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Champollion Museum (French: Musée Champollion) is located in Figeac, Lot. It houses a collection devoted to Figeac's most famous son, Jean-François Champollion. It was inaugurated 19 December 1986 in the presence of President François Mitterrand and Jean Leclant, secrétaire perpétuel of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres. After two years of building work and extension, the museum re-opened in 2007. Besides Champollion's life and discoveries, the museum also recounts the history of writing. The whole façade is covered in pictograms, from the original ideograms of the whole world.

The Château de Puy-Launay is a ruined castle in the commune of Linac in the Lot département of France.A castle has existed on the site since the 14th centuries. It underwent major building works in the 15th century. The building is a three-storey latticed quadrangular structure. The north east corner forms a nook partly occupied by a square tower containing a spiral staircase. Two round towers, flanking the southern façade, were razed during the French Revolution. A round walk constructed of brick and wooden walls is still visible. In the basement are traces of an earlier keep. On the first floor, a large hall is decorated with paintings of floral and plant motifs imitating a tapestry, dating certainly from the 19th century. The so-called Francis I Room has a 17th-century ceiling.The castle is privately owned. It has been listed since 1989 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.
