Montfort-sur-Argens (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃fɔʁ syʁ aʁʒɑ̃(s)], literally Montfort on Argens; Occitan: Montfòrt d'Argenç) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.

Château Miraval is a château and vineyard located in the village of Correns, just north of Brignoles, a village in the Var département in the south of France. The château hit headlines in late May 2008 when it was revealed that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had leased it for three years with an option to buy, after surveying prospective properties by helicopter, with the intention of having the twins they expected born in France. Pitt and Jolie exercised the buy option and were married in the château's chapel in August 2014.

The Monastère Saint-Benoît is an independent anglophone Catholic Benedictine monastery located in the commune of Brignoles, 46 kilometres (29 mi) from Toulon, France. The Bishop of Fréjus-Toulon established the monastery as a Public Association of the Faithful in 2011. The current location was purchased in 2020. The Association was suppressed in June 2022 after two members of the community were ordained priest and deacon without the bishop's knowledge. The suppression has been appealed and the monks have indicated they intend to continue their traditional life of prayer, study, and work regardless of the outcome.

In 2020, the commune of Brignoles had a population of 17,652.

Communauté d'agglomération de la Provence Verte is an intercommunal structure, centred on the cities of Brignoles and Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume. It is located in the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, southeastern France. It was created in January 2017. Its seat is in Brignoles. Its area is 947.5 km2. Its population was 98,529 in 2017, of which 17,179 in Brignoles proper.
