Saint-Lyphard

The Château du Ranroët is a castle existing since the 12th century, located in Herbignac in the Loire-Atlantique department of France. Since 1925, the Château du Ranroët has been listed as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Brière (Breton: Ar Briwer) is the marsh area to the north of the Loire estuary in France at its mouth on the Atlantic Ocean. The residents of Brière are called Briérons. The Brière marsh area includes a vast area of humid zones stretching from the Gulf of Morbihan and the estuary of the Vilaine to the north, to the salt marshes of Guérande to the west to the estuary of the Loire and the Lac de Grand-Lieu in the south. Peat used to be harvested here. The Brière territory extends over 490 km2 (190 sq mi), including 170 km2 (66 sq mi) of humid zone, at the heart of which lies the Grande Brière Mottière which encompasses 70 km2 (27 sq mi) and 21 communes. It is rich in flora and fauna, and navigation is possible with boats called chalands. Cottages are a common sight in the area, with around 3000 thatched roof cottages dotted throughout the area. Alphonse de Chateaubriant's prize-winning novel La Brière (translated as Passion and Peat), 1923, is set in the area and describes its traditions and culture. It has been suggested that the small islands of the Brière, now joined by silt, could have been the location of the Cassiterides - islands mentioned in antiquity as the Phoenician source of tin.

Saint-Joachim (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ ʒɔaʃɛ̃] ; Breton: Sant-Yoasin) is a commune in the Loire-Atlantique department in western France. It is in the centre of the Brière marsh, and comprises a group of "islands" within the marsh.

La Roche-Bernard (French pronunciation: [la ʁɔʃ bɛʁnaʁ]; Breton: Ar Roc'h-Bernez) is a commune in the Morbihan department of Brittany in north-western France. Inhabitants of La Roche-Bernard are called in French Rochois for men and Rochoises for women. Forming a part of Petites Cités de Caractère, a quality label, the town is known for its marina along the waterfront of the river named Vilaine and also for its old area.

The coastline includes the peninsula of Guérande (in French "Presqu'île de Guérande", including the following localities and seaside resorts from south to north: Saint-Nazaire, Pornichet, La Baule-Escoublac, Le Pouliguen, Le Croisic, Batz-sur-Mer, Guérande, La Turballe, Piriac-sur-Mer and Mesquer.
