Edison Park station

Edison Park is a park located in Edison Park community in Chicago, Illinois. The park became part of the Chicago Park District in 1936. Edison Park's historic fieldhouse was built in 1907 as a public school. The fieldhouse was designed by Solon Spencer Beman in the Arts and Crafts style. A branch of the Chicago Public Library operated out of the fieldhouse from 1937 to 1960, and the building has also served as a community center. The park contains hawthorn trees planted in the 1930s as well as a historic flagpole. In addition, the park contains a playground added in 1988, and a boulder honoring Thomas Edison dedicated in 1979. The park was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 21, 2007.

The Turzak House is a house located at 7059 North Olcott Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The house was built between 1938 and 1939 by Bruce Goff for Charles Turzak. It was designated a Chicago Landmark on December 9, 1992.

The Wingert House is a nineteenth-century farmhouse located at 6231 North Canfield Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. One of the oldest surviving farmhouses within the Chicago city limits, the building received Chicago Landmark status on July 31, 1990. It is part of the Norwood Park neighborhood. The house was built in 1854 as the home of John Wingert, a German immigrant who had fled his home country due to religious persecution. A two-story Italianate style section was added between 1868 and 1875. The Wingert House is one of the few extant buildings in Chicago that predate the Great Fire of 1871.

Edison Park (formerly Canfield) is one of the 77 community areas of Chicago on the North Side, Chicago, Illinois. It consists entirely of the Edison Park neighborhood, and is named after Thomas Alva Edison, who gave his blessing to this community namesake in 1890. According to the 2000 Census, its population is 11,259. Edison Park has one of the highest concentrations of Irish ancestry in Chicago, where they make up over three-fourths of the neighborhood's population. Located between the Des Plaines River and the Chicago River, this area served as a local watershed divide. The Des Plaines River feeds into the Illinois River and the Mississippi River to reach the Gulf of Mexico. Like nearby Portage Park, Edison Park was a common portage for early travelers, who would carry their canoes across it.

The Pickwick Theatre is an art deco movie palace located in Park Ridge, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.Designed by Roscoe Harold Zook, William F. McCaughey, and Alfonso Iannelli, the Pickwick opened in 1928 as a vaudeville stage and movie theatre. It is widely recognized for its marquee and 100-foot tower, which appeared in the opening credits of At the Movies. The main auditorium, built to resemble an Aztec or Mayan temple, originally seated up to 1,400 people. Seating capacity in the main auditorium was reduced by 200 seats in 1968 and an additional 400 seats in 2012 as the result of renovations. The 2012 renovation project, valued at $1.2 million, also included a new roof, mechanical improvements and exterior renovations including those to the original marquee.The theater was named in 1928 by the mayor of Park Ridge, William H. Malone I, for the title character Samuel Pickwick in Charles Dickens' novel The Pickwick Papers.The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and continues to host films as well as live stage shows. In 1990, theatre management expanded the Pickwick by adding three new screens behind the original auditorium. In 2017, owner Dino Vlahakis added a 39-seat theatre located on the second floor of the rear building, in place of the theatre's offices. In celebration of the 2018 Illinois Bicentennial, the Pickwick Theater was selected as one of the Illinois 200 Great Places by the American Institute of Architects Illinois component (AIA Illinois).

The library serves a population of 37,775 residents and is located at 20 S. Prospect Avenue, Park Ridge, IL 60068 in the Uptown neighborhood. The purpose of the Park Ridge Public Library is to advance human knowledge and understanding by providing access to information, literature, technology, and the arts relevant to the community it serves.

Park Ridge is one of two commuter railroad stations on Metra's Union Pacific Northwest Line in the city of Park Ridge, Illinois. It is officially located at 100 South Summit Avenue, and lies 13.1 miles (21.1 km) from the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Park Ridge is in zone C. As of 2018, Park Ridge is the 33rd busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 1,168 weekday boardings.As of April 25, 2022, Park Ridge is served by 22 trains in each direction on weekdays, by 16 inbound trains and 15 outbound trains on Saturdays, and by nine inbound trains and 10 outbound trains on Sundays. Parking is available on both sides of the tracks. On the north side, on-street parking can be found along Summit Avenue and Busse Highway, and a parking lot can be found on the southwest corner of Summit and Touhy Avenues. On the south side of the tracks, the parking areas are much further away from the station south of Main Street. Among these are street-side parking along Garden Avenue beginning halfway between Prospect and Fairview Avenues and halfway between Prairie Avenue and Third Street, one parking lot on the south side of Garden Avenue between Fairview and Prospect Avenues, street-side parking along Prairie Avenue north of Garden Street, which end at parking lots on both sides of Prairie Avenue, and another parking lot next to the one on the east side of Prairie along Fairview Avenue. Unlike nearby Dee Road, Park Ridge's main station provides bus connections for both Pace and CTA buses. Park Ridge serves as the northern terminus of CTA's Route 68 Northwest Highway.

St Adalbert Cemetery is a Roman Catholic cemetery located in Niles, Illinois. It is bordered by Milwaukee Avenue on the east, Albion and Hayes Streets on the south, and Harlem Avenue on the west. Various non-cemetery properties separate it from Touhy Avenue on the north. It is intersected at its center from north to south by Newark Avenue. Its main entrance is on Milwaukee Avenue, approximately midway between Devon and Touhy.

Moraine Township is a township in Lake County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 34,129. Moraine Township was originally called Deerfield Township, but the name was changed on October 29, 1998.

The Passionist Fathers Monastery is a historic monastery at 5700 N. Harlem Avenue in the Norwood Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The monastery was built in 1910 for the Passionists, an order of Roman Catholic monks which believed in austere living and hosting spiritual retreats. Architect Joseph Molitor, who also designed several churches for the Archdiocese of Chicago in the early twentieth century, designed the monastery. The building incorporates elements of Classical Revival, Baroque Revival, and Romanesque Revival architecture. The building's most prominent Classical Revival element its main entrance, which includes a balustrade and detailed pediment. Its Baroque influence is apparent in the Dutch gable above the main entrance, while its rounded arched windows and corbeling come from the Romanesque style.The monastery was added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 6, 2013.

St. Sava Academy is a Serbian-American private school located in the city of Chicago Illinois, United States. The school offers schooling for children in Kindergarten to the 8th grade. The school is in cooperation with the Serbian Orthodox Church, and seeks to promote bilingual education and cultural growth to the city's Serbian community. Instruction is in Serbian and English. The school was established in 2001, originally being in a union with the Greek-American School "Socrates".There is another Serbian-American day school, the St. Sava Orthodox School, in Milwaukee.
