Floirac (French pronunciation: ​[flwaʁak]; Occitan: Hloirac) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.

The Bordeaux Observatory is an astronomical observatory affiliated with the University of Bordeaux. Built in Floirac, France in 1893 its lenses were focused between +11 and +17 degrees declination. Until 1970 it had taken over 4,000 photographic plates. Bordeaux Observatory is home to a large collection of instruments and archives from well over a century of astronomical activities. Until the 2016 it was actively used until the institution moved to a new location at the University. In the French language the name is Observatoire de Bordeaux.

Floirac Dravemont tram stop is the terminus of the southern branch of line A of the Tramway de Bordeaux. It opened on 27 February 2007, when the line was extended from La Morlette. The stop is located in the commune of Floirac and is operated by the TBC.For most of the day on Mondays to Fridays, trams run every ten minutes between Floirac Dravemont and Bordeaux city centre. Services run less frequently in the early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

La Morlette tram stop is located on line A of the Tramway de Bordeaux, and served as terminus of the southern branch of that line between 21 December 2003, when the line opened, and 27 February 2007, when the line was extended to Floirac Dravemont. The stop is located in the commune of Cenon and is operated by the TBC.For most of the day on Mondays to Fridays, trams run every ten minutes in both directions through the stop. Services run less frequently in the early morning, late evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Arkéa Arena (previously known as the Bordeaux Métropole Arena) is a multi-purpose indoor arena in Floirac, near Bordeaux in France. Opened in January 2018, it offers a capacity for all types of shows and events from 2,500 to 11,300. The arena is mainly used for concerts and sporting events.

Bouliac (French pronunciation: [buljak]; Occitan: Boliac) is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.

Bordeaux-État or Bordeaux-Deschamps was a mainline railway station in the French city of Bordeaux. The station was at the terminus of the line from Paris of the CF de l'État. The station opened late on 1 August 1896 after years of building a line to compete with the PO's line also from Paris. On 1 August 1893, the last portion of the main line was opened and État trains were permitted to use the Midi's Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean station. Three years later, the 2 km long branch to Bordeaux-État was opened as well as the station. Only a small number of trains ever used the station as most were routed to Saint-Jean to allow passengers to use connecting services.Bordeaux-État was closed at the creation of the SNCF and all services were rerouted to Saint-Jean. The station was situated near the Pont de Pierre and was subsequently converted into a cinema and restaurants.
