The Jardins des Martels is a 3.5-hectare (8.6-acre) commercial botanical garden and flower park located in Giroussens, Tarn, Occitanie, France. It is open daily in the warmer months; an admission fee is charged. The gardens were created by Marie-Thérèse and André Reynier in the late 1960s, as a private garden on their farm, and after considerable development opened to the public in 1994. Today the garden is set upon a well-landscaped terrain of numerous pools and hills, and features more than 2500 plant varieties from five continents, as well as a greenhouse of aquatic plants and a mini-farm with about 150 animals such as sheep, goats, ponies, ducks, and so forth.

The Dadou (French: le Dadou) is a 115.8 km (72.0 mi) long river in the Tarn department in southern France. Its source is near Saint-Salvi-de-Carcavès. It flows generally west. It is a right tributary of the Agout, into which it flows near Ambres.

Giroussens is a commune in the department of Tarn in southern France. It is particularly famous for its market of European pottery that attracts many tourists in the spring.

The Chemin de Fer Touristique du Tarn (CFTT), or Tarn Light Railway, is a narrow-gauge light railway near the village of Saint-Lieux-lès-Lavaur, in the vicinity of Saint-Sulpice in the department of Tarn, France. It is run as a heritage railway by a French association, the ACOVA (Association pour la Conservation Occitane de Véhicules Anciens) incorporated in 1975 and based in Toulouse. It operates on a 500 mm (19+3⁄4 in) gauge and the line was reconstructed from 1974 over a length of 3.5 kilometers (2.2 mi) on the trackbed of the former line from La Ramière to Saint-Sulpice which operated only from 11 April 1925, to 20 June 1931. The line starts from the Saint Lieux-lès-Lavaur terminus at the former station ex-TVT and follows the streets of Saint-Lieux till a 132-metre (433 ft) long viaduct over the river Agout. Then it runs in the Tarn countryside and woods before arriving at the present terminus at les Martels. The ACOVA owns five steam locomotives, among which three are operating and four are considered as monuments historiques. One of them is coming from New Caledonia and was originally in the 500mm gauge (Decauville 0-4-0T) and the others have been adapted from 600 mm (1 ft 11+5⁄8 in) gauge hardware. The Tarn Light Railway is operating from begin of April to the end of October, on Sundays and holidays, and every day of the week in July and August. The trains perform a one-hour travel between the Saint-Lieux station and the Les Martels terminus. It is planned to extend the line to reach the hamlet and chapel of Saint-Cyriaque. As of 2008, the current ridership is 24,000 per year.

The bishopric of Lavaur (Tarn, France) (in Latin: dioecesis Vaurensis) was founded by Pope John XXII in his plan to reorganize the sprawling diocese of Toulouse. The town is situated some fifteen miles to the east of Toulouse. Lavaur had the reputation of being one of the strongest centers of Catharism, being referred to as sedes Satanae, atque erroris haeretici primatica ('seat of Satan and prime source of heretical error' The diocese consisted of some 80–90 parishes. It hosted one abbey, that of Sorèz, a convent of the Clarisses, a convent of the Daughters of the Cross, a convent of Dominicans, one of Franciscans, one of Capuchins, two of reformed Dominicans, and two houses of the Doctrinaires. The diocese produced some 35,000 livres for the bishop.The diocese was abolished by the Concordat of 1801.

Lavaur Cathedral (French: Cathédrale Saint-Alain de Lavaur) is a Roman Catholic church and former cathedral located in the town of Lavaur, Tarn, France. The cathedral is a national monument since 1911.Until the Concordat of 1801, this was the seat of the Diocese of Lavaur, now held by the Archbishop of Albi. The cathedral is dedicated to Saint Alan of Lavaur. The present structure dates from the 13th, 14th and 15th centuries, and has an octagonal bell-tower. A second, smaller square tower contains a 16th-century jacquemart (a statue which strikes the hours with a hammer). In the bishop's garden is the statue of Emmanuel, comte de Las Cases, one of the companions of Napoleon on Saint Helena. On 5 February 2019, teenagers vandalised parts of the cathedral, lighting a small fire and twisting the arm of a crucifix to make it appear that Christ was dabbing.
