St. Charles Community Schools (STCCS) is a school district headquartered in St. Charles, Michigan. It is a part of the Saginaw Intermediate School District and serves the St. Charles area, including the village of St. Charles, the northern portions of Brant and St. Charles townships, and the southern portions of Fremont and Swan Creek townships. Its schools include St. Charles Elementary School, Anna M. Thurston Middle School, and St. Charles Community High School.

A new event in 2019, it is held at Midland Country Club in Midland, Michigan. It is a team event, similar to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour, with alternate shot (foursome) in the first and third rounds and better ball (fourball) for the second and fourth rounds. Dow Chemical Company is the title sponsor.The 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For the 2021 edition, the purse was increased to $2.3 million, with the first-place team splitting $559,000. For 2022, the purse was increased to $2.5 million, with the first-place team splitting $603,172.In 2023, the 70 two-woman teams are set featuring foursomes and fourballs in alternating days, including a 36-hole cut, to determine the winning team. The purse was increased to $2.7 million, with the first-place team splitting $656,230.

The Mahoney Site, designated 20SA193, is an archaeological site located near Bridgeport, Michigan, United States. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.The site was a Woodland period fall and winter camp.In 1963, human remains representing at least two individuals were removed from site by archaeologists from the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropological Archaeology.

The Bad River is a 44.3-mile-long (71.3 km) river in Michigan. It rises in Newark Township near the city of Ithaca in Gratiot County and flows in a north-easterly direction into Saginaw County, and through the village of St. Charles, before emptying into the Shiawassee River within the bounds of the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge.The river and its tributaries have a total combined length of 175 miles (282 km); most of it channelized. Land use within the surrounding watershed is 86.5 percent agricultural; as a result, the river system has been adversely impacted by sedimentation.The name "Bad River" comes from the Chippewa Indians who called the river "maw-tchi-sebe" or quite literally, "bad river," because of how difficult it was for them to navigate it.

The county was created by September 10, 1822, and was fully organized on February 9, 1835. The etymology of the county's name is uncertain. Swan Valley School District is a school district headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan. It is a part of the Saginaw Intermediate School District and serves 20 square miles (52 km2) including James Township, northeastern Swan Creek Township, eastern Thomas Township. Its schools include Robert B. Havens Elementary School, Shields Elementary School, Swan Valley Middle School, and Swan Valley High School.

Thomas Township is a civil township of Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The 2020 Census places the population at 11,931.

Swan Valley High School is a public high school located in Thomas Township, Michigan and part of the Swan Valley School District and under the Saginaw ISD. They are part of the Tri-Valley Central Conference. Swan Valley has been part of the Mid-Michigan B, TVC East, TVC West, and the TVC Central conferences since its start in 1971. Swan Valley's original mascot was the Panthers which soon changed to the Vikings. When the new high school was built the mascot needed to be changed because there was already a high school in the area that were panthers. The sports teams of Swan Valley were then divided up between the Vikings and the Valkyries to show individual support for both male and female teams. Later the sports teams were simply called the Vikings and the Lady Vikes.
