It is home to the École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts de Nice (National School of Fine Arts of Nice) and the Centre Nationale d'Art Contemporain (National Centre for Contemporary Art), and was created under a ministerial charter in 1972 by the Ministry of Culture.

The Nice French Riviera Open (or Open de Nice Côte d'Azur in French) was an ATP World Tour 250 series and, formerly, Grand Prix tennis circuit affiliated men's tennis tournament. This tournament was originally founded in 1895 as the Nice International also known as the Nice Lawn Tennis Club Championships. It was held in Nice, France at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club and played on outdoor clay courts. The last singles champion is Dominic Thiem from Austria. Originally part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit between 1970 and 1989. The event was played under various (sponsored) names from 1971 through 1995. In 2010 Nice became the location of a World Tour 250 series clay court tournament, replacing the Interwetten Austrian Open in Kitzbühel, Austria on the ATP calendar. It was scheduled a week before the French Open. In November 2016 it was announced that the tournament would be replaced on the 2017 calendar by a new event, the Lyon Open, because the venue in Nice at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club could not be expanded.Ilie Năstase, Björn Borg, Henri Leconte, Nicolás Almagro, and Dominic Thiem have each won the singles title twice.

The St Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral, Nice (French: Cathédrale Orthodoxe Saint-Nicolas de Nice, Russian: Николаевский собор, Ницца) is an Eastern Orthodox cathedral located in the French city of Nice. Property of the Russian Federation, it is recognized as a national monument of France, and it currently belongs to the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate. It is the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedral in Western Europe. The cathedral was opened in 1912, thanks to the generosity of Russia's Tsar Nicholas II. From 1931 until 15 December 2011 (after a longstanding legal dispute over ownership was resolved), the parish that occupied the cathedral was part of the Paris-based Patriarchal Exarchate for Orthodox Parishes of Russian Tradition in Western Europe under the jurisdiction of the Church of Constantinople. After 2011, following a final ruling by France's highest court, the Court of Cassation, the cathedral was declared to be property of the Russian state, and the congregation came under the jurisdiction of the Korsun diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Nice CP station (French: Gare de Nice CP) is a small French railway station in Nice, France. It is the terminus of the Train des Pignes line, a metre-gauge railway which runs from Digne-les-Bains station to Nice and is operated by Chemins de Fer de Provence. The station was opened in December 1991, replacing the old Gare du Sud station which had been built in 1890. The old station was sold to the council because it was in a poor state of repair and the council had redevelopment plans for the area, making repairs to the station not financially worthwhile. The new station was built a few hundred metres up the line to allow Nice city council to redevelop the old station site into a retail, catering and leisure complex. The new station was built in a modernist style which contrasts with that of every other station on the route. It is served by the Nice tramway and city bus. The city's main railway station, Nice-Ville station, is a 10–15 minute walk away.

Stade Municipal du Ray was a football stadium in Nice, France. It was the home of OGC Nice since it opened in 1927 and had a capacity of 17,415. It was popular for being located in the center of the city, but suffered from its old structure and small capacity. The red and black colored stadium was mostly used for football. A new stadium was supposed to be built in the Lingostière side, but the project was cancelled in 2006. The stadium was replaced by the Allianz Riviera in September 2013.

The Church of Saint Joan of Arc (French: Sainte Jeanne d'Arc) is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Nice, France. Noticeable for its original architecture, the church is dedicated to Joan of Arc. The style of this church is controversial among the inhabitants of Nice, judged ugly by some. The church is sometime nicknamed "the Meringue" for its white color.

The Gare du Sud is a food court in the Libération quarter of the city of Nice in south-east France. It has been constructed within the buildings of the former railway station that bore the same name. The station was the terminus of the metre gauge railway of the Chemins de Fer de Provence rail company which links Nice to Digne-les-Bains in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. The line, known as the Train des Pignes because it follows a scenic route through the mountains, has been served by a nearby replacement Nice terminus station, the Gare de Nice CP station, since the original station was closed in December 1991. The Gare du Sud site then remained derelict until 2013, when the station building was renovated and converted into a library.The remainder of the station site was subsequently redeveloped into a food court, shopping centre and cinema as part of project to regenerate the Libération quarter. The main entrance is through the train station's original, restored 19th-century facade.

Nice-Ville station (French: Gare de Nice-Ville), also known as Nice-Thiers station (Gare de Nice-Thiers), is the main railway station of Nice, France. It is situated on the Marseille–Ventimiglia railway and constitutes the southwestern terminus of the Nice–Breil-sur-Roya railway. Nice-Ville is served by TER, Intercités and TGV services, as well as the Gare Thiers stop on Line 1 of the Nice tramway.
