Wijnegem

The Dessel–Turnhout–Schoten Canal is a 63 km long canal across the province of Antwerp, Belgium. It links Dessel to Schoten, where the canal flows into the Albert Canal. Construction of the eastern section between Dessel et Turnhout canal started in 1844 and was completed a year later. The western section, linking to the Maastricht Canal (subsequently replaced by the larger and more freely navigable Albert Canal) at Schoten was started in 1854 but completed only in 1875.

Schilde (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsxɪldə] (listen)) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Schilde proper and 's-Gravenwezel. In 2021, Schilde had a total population of 19,925. The total area is 35.99 km². It has one of the highest per capita income levels in Flanders.

It features 250 stores and has a gross leasable area of 61,913 square metres (666,430 sq ft), making it the largest shopping mall in Belgium and the Benelux. In 2018, the mall changed its name. The previous name was Wijnegem Shopping Center.

Wommelgem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋɔməlɣɛm]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Wommelgem proper. In 2021, Wommelgem had a total population of 12,991. The total area is 13.01 km².

Ranst (Dutch pronunciation: [rɑnst] (listen)) is a municipality in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Broechem (townhall), Emblem, Oelegem, and Ranst (postoffice) proper. In 2021, Ranst had a total population of 19,249. The total area is 43.58 km2 (16.83 sq mi).

Schoten (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsxoːtə(n)] (listen)) is a municipality located in Antwerp Province, Belgium. The municipality only comprises the town of Schoten proper. As of 1 January 2020 Schoten has a total population of 34,311. The total area is 29.55 km2 (11.41 sq mi) which gives a population density of 1,122/km2 (2,910/sq mi). Schoten borders the Antwerp districts Merksem to the west and Deurne to the south west. Neighboring municipalities include Brasschaat to the north, Brecht to the north east, Schilde to the east, and Wijnegem to the south.

The Arrondissement of Antwerp (Dutch: Arrondissement Antwerpen; French: Arrondissement d'Anvers) is one of the three administrative arrondissements in Antwerp Province, Belgium. It is both an administrative and a judicial arrondissement. The territory of the Judicial Arrondissement of Antwerp coincides with that of the Administrative Arrondissement of Antwerp.

Rugbyclub Diabolos is a Belgian rugby club in Schilde, founded in 1991. The club is affiliated to the Belgian Rugby Federation through its flemish branch Rugby Vlaanderen.The first teams, both men´s and women´s, played in 2022-2023 in the Belgian third division (D3). The club also has a Mixar team including players with different abilities.

Borsbeek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈbɔrzbeːk] (listen)) is a municipality (Dutch pronunciation) located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Borsbeek proper. On 1 January 2021 Borsbeek had a total population of 11,076. The total area is 3.92 km² which gives a population density of 2.825 inhabitants per km². On 28 January 2022, the mayors of Borsbeek and Antwerp announced they intend to merge: the small, densely populated town of Borsbeek might become the 10th district of the city of Antwerp by 2025.

The Belgian Open is a men's golf tournament which has been played intermittently from 1910 to 2000. All editions since 1978 have been part of the European Tour. After not having been played since 2000, it returned in 2018 as the Belgian Knockout, hosted by PietersProductions, along with its co-founder, Belgian professional golfer Thomas Pieters. With a prize pool set at €1 million, 144 professional golfers start the competition with 36 holes of stroke play, followed by 9-hole match play for the top 64 finishers from the stroke play rounds.
