The Montreal East Refinery (French: Raffinerie de Montréal-Est) was an oil refinery located in Montreal East and formerly Shell Canada's largest refinery. In October 2010, refinery operations permanently ceased and the facility was subsequently converted into a storage terminal.

Montreal East (in French: Montréal-Est) is an on-island suburb in southwestern Quebec, Canada, on the island of Montreal. Montreal-Est has been home to many large oil refineries since 1915.

The Montreal Refinery is an oil refinery located in the city of Montreal inside the Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles borough. The refinery is not far from the Montreal East Refinery. This refinery is the largest Suncor Energy refinery.

The Institut national de psychiatrie légale Philippe-Pinel is a psychiatric hospital located in Montreal, Quebec for individuals accused of crimes and found to be not criminally responsible due to mental disorder. It is located at 10905 Henri Bourassa Blvd. East in the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Pointe-aux-Trembles was a municipality, founded in 1674, that was annexed by Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in 1982. This was the last city to be merged into Montreal until the 2002 municipal reorganization. On January 1, 2002 this neighbourhood at the far east end of the Island of Montreal became part of the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles–Montréal-Est. On January 1, 2006 Montreal East demerged, and the borough became Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles. One can find a windmill, at the corner of Notre-Dame Street and Third Avenue, which was built in 1719. Its three storeys make it the tallest windmill in Québec that still stands. In 1650 the Grou family of Rouen France established a land holding here.

Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles is a suburban borough (arrondissement) on the eastern tip of the city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is located at the eastern end of the Island of Montreal.

La Pointe-de-l'Île (French pronunciation: [la pwɛ̃t də lil]) is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Its population in 2001 was 98,878. The riding was created in 2003 from parts of Anjou—Rivière-des-Prairies, Hochelaga—Maisonneuve, and Mercier ridings.

Rivière-des-Prairies station is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is served by the Mascouche line.The station is located parallel to Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis at the corner of Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Rivière-des-Prairies. Two tracks run through the station, but only one is served by the station's single low-level side platform on the north side of the tracks. There is no station building, with the platform exiting directly onto the sidewalk. The station is wheelchair accessible. The station's parking lot and bus terminus are located across Boulevard Maurice-Duplessis from the station. A sculpture by Gilles Mihalcean entitled J'arrive is located in the parking lot.

École secondaire d'Anjou is a francophone public co-educational secondary school located in most part in Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough and in small part in Anjou borough in Montreal. Part of the Commission scolaire de la Pointe-de-l'Île, it was originally in the catholic School board Commission scolaire Jérôme-Le Royer before the 1998 reorganization of School boards from religious communities into linguistic communities in Quebec. École secondaire d'Anjou offers regular and special education programs, welcoming classes, professional programs and adults programs. This school hosts actually 1,337 students and 67 teachers.

LaFontaine is a provincial electoral district in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It consists of the neighbourhood of Rivière-des-Prairies in the borough of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles. It was created for the 1966 election from a part of Bourget electoral district. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, its territory was unchanged. From 1992 to 2001, the riding also included the northern half of Pointe-aux-Trembles. It was named after the First Prime Minister of the United Province of Canada, Louis-Hippolyte Lafontaine.

Honoré-Beaugrand station is a Montreal Metro station in the borough of Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and is the eastern terminus of the Green Line. It is located in the district of Tétreaultville. The station opened on June 6, 1976, replacing Frontenac station as the terminus.
