Messe Frankfurt (literally "Frankfurt Trade Fair") is the world's largest trade fair, congress and event organizer with its own exhibition grounds. The organisation has 2,500 employees at some 30 locations, generating annual sales of around €661 million. Its services include renting exhibition grounds, trade fair construction and marketing, personnel and food services.Headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, the company is owned by the City of Frankfurt (60 percent) and the State of Hesse (40 percent). The Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt consists of Wolfgang Marzin (Chairman), Detlef Braun, and Uwe Behm. Frankfurt has been known for its trade fairs for over 800 years. In the Middle Ages, merchants and businessmen met at the "Römer", a medieval building in the heart of the city that served as a market place; from 1909 onwards, they met on the grounds of the Festhalle Frankfurt, to the north of Frankfurt Central Station. The first Frankfurt trade fair to be documented in writing dates back to 11 July 1240, when the Frankfurt Autumn Trade Fair was called into being by Emperor Frederick II, who decreed that merchants travelling to the fair were under his protection. Some ninety years later, on 25 April 1330, the Frankfurt Spring Fair also received its privilege from Emperor Louis IV. And from this time onwards, trade fairs were held in Frankfurt twice a year, in spring and autumn, forming the basic structure for Messe Frankfurt's modern consumer goods fairs.

Festhalle Frankfurt is a multi-purpose arena located in Frankfurt, Germany. The interior of the dome at its highest reaches a height of 40 meters. It provides an area of 5,646 square metres, offering by a variable grandstand system space for up to 8,500 people (together with the two tiers) seated, and 13,500 people unseated.

Westend Gate, formerly known as Plaza Büro Center, is a 47-storey, 159 m (522 ft) skyscraper in the Westend-Süd district of Frankfurt, Germany. It was the tallest building in Germany from 1976 until 1978 when it was surpassed by the Silberturm, which is also located in Frankfurt. The Westend Gate is located just across the street from the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds and near the Naturmuseum Senckenberg and the Bockenheim Campus of the Goethe University Frankfurt. The structure consists of 2 slabs plus a narrow wing attached to the east side. It was renamed Westend Gate in 2011, when it was completely renovated as a green building.The lower half of the tower contains offices, while floors 26-44 are a hotel, originally the CP Frankfurt Plaza Hotel, known since 1989 as the Frankfurt Marriott.

The Europaviertel (European quarter) is a housing and business quarter development in the Gallus district of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Development work began in 2005, and the development is scheduled for completion by 2019. The area will have offices, hotels, apartments, parks, shopping, and leisure facilities. After its completion, Europaviertel will approximately have a population of 30,000 workers and 10,000 residents. The Skyline Plaza complex, including a shopping mall and congress center, is within the district.

The Messeturm, or Trade Fair Tower, is a 63-storey, 257 m (843 ft) skyscraper in the Westend-Süd district of Frankfurt, Germany. It is the second tallest building in Frankfurt, the second tallest building in Germany and the third tallest building in the European Union. It was the tallest building in Europe from its completion in 1991 until 1997 when it was surpassed by the Commerzbank Tower, which is also located in Frankfurt. The Messeturm is located near the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds. Helmut Jahn designed the Messeturm in a postmodern architectural style. It is regarded as one of the design classics among European skyscrapers. Despite its name, the Messeturm is not used for trade fair exhibitions but as an office building. It is one of the few buildings in Germany with their own postal code (60308), the others being Opernturm, another Frankfurt skyscraper, and the summit station on Zugspitze.

Skyline Plaza is a building complex in the western part of Frankfurt, Germany, near the trade fair premises of Messe Frankfurt. It is planned to consist of four buildings: a shopping mall with around 180 shops and restaurants (opened on 29 August 2013) and a large spa (opening scheduled for February 2014) a congress center for Messe Frankfurt (opening scheduled for June 2014) a 191 m (627 ft) office tower (under construction) Grand Tower: a 180 m (590 ft) residential tower (finished)

Frankfurt am Main Messe station (German: Bahnhof Frankfurt am Main Messe) is an S-Bahn station in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in the district of Bockenheim in the middle of the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds. The station was opened in 1999 to improve the fair's public transport connections. It consists of two platform tracks facing a central platform. Constructing the platform was a complex procedure as the space between the tracks had to be enlarged. The road next to the line had to be moved and a bridge had to be rebuilt.

AfE-Turm ('AfE Tower') was a 38-story (32 office floors), 116 m (381 ft) skyscraper in the Westend district of Frankfurt, Germany. The building was part of the Bockenheim campus of the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and until 2013 housed the offices and seminar rooms of the departments of Social Sciences and Education. AfE is an acronym for Abteilung für Erziehungswissenschaft (Department of Pedagogy); however, this department never moved in because it was closed before the construction of the tower was finished, which happened in 1972. The tower was demolished on February 2, 2014.

Messe Torhaus is a high rise building in the Bockenheim district of Frankfurt, Germany. It was designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers. Built by Hochtief, 400 workers constructed the 60,000 ton building in a record time of 13 months from 1983 to 1984. Its unusual shape and use of materials resembles a guillotine. The building houses the administration of Messe Frankfurt as well as services like a kindergarten and the press centre. The building consists of three interconnected components: from a single triangular concave grows out a building with a red stone façade. He pointed at the front and back is a lot of storeys high, square opening. Through this opening, an inner, spiegelverglaster component is seen, grows out of the outer and reaches about double of its height. It is 117 m high and has 30 floors. In addition to the headquarters of the Administration Center, the gatehouse, the central point of contact for exhibitors and visitors: The level two and three house all the necessary service facilities of contacts for the stand construction, catering and hostess service throughout the central exhibition, as well as tourist information including accommodation reservation to supermarket, post office and hairdresser. Even with a nursery (level one) can be used by Messe Frankfurt, and the only German trade fair location, it offers in-house opportunity for reflective moments prayer room (level four). Also at level four we find the press center with all service facilities for journalists. From level three of the gatehouse can be reached since January 1999 directly to the S-Bahn Frankfurt Messe. In the immediate vicinity is located on the fairgrounds of Messe Frankfurt, the CHP Mainova AG, which serves as a gate house chimney. Therefore, the building is also known as "Frankfurt's most beautiful fireplace".

IBC Tower is a skyscraper in the IBC building complex in Bockenheim district of Frankfurt, Germany. At 30-storeys and 112 m (367 ft), it is considerably taller than the other two buildings named IBC Tower A, and IBC Tower B, which are both ten storeys. The IBC was built by Deutsche Bank on a design by architect Kohler and was completed in 2003. It is situated at Theodor-Heuss-Allee close to the Frankfurt Trade Fair grounds. Originally, Deutsche Bank planned as Investment Banking Center to concentrate their traders in the complex. This has never been implemented. Finally, Deutsche Bank sold the entire complex to the U.S. financial investor Blackstone Group and only rented Building B, in which the German Private and Business Bank AG and parts of the Deutsche Bank Human Resources division moved in. Building A was rented by the Degussa Bank GmbH, ING Real Estate Development and Construction and the INDUSTRIA rental company rented mbH. In 2006, Deutsche Bank also temporarily rented Building C, the IBC Tower, because of a major renovation in their company headquarters, the Deutsche Bank Twin Towers. The renovation was completed in 2011.

The Grand Tower (formerly Tower 2) is a high-rise in the Europaviertel quarter in Frankfurt, Germany. The tower, completed in 2020 is Germany's tallest residential building at a height of 180 m (590 ft), exceeding the 147 m (482 ft) Colonia-Haus in Cologne built in 1973. The tower is located next to the Skyline-Plaza shopping center. The developer states the total investment at around 250 million euros.The Grand Tower is considered to be the first high-rise residential building in Germany to be marketed globally; with the Asian, Arab and North American markets being the main focus.
