Chabrillan

The Château de Chabrillan is a ruined castle in the commune of Chabrillan in the Drôme département of France.The castle was first mentioned in 1150, belonging to the "Chabreihha" family, who also owned Autichamp.On the northern side of the castle, the square keep is 20 m high with walls almost 2 m thick. Built in the 12th century to protect the lord and his family, it contains no comforts and was intended purely as a refuge. The only entrance to the keep was by a door about halfway up, reached by a wooden ladder. To the south, a round tower is more recent. Between the two were another keep and other buildings which were added later to form a complete fortress and to serve as a residence. To the east, a well provided water. A document from 1634 mentions a room for playing tens.The Moreton family left the castle around 1650 (their descendants still own it). At the time of the French Revolution, its roof had gone. It was declared a national asset and was used as a quarry, its stones being reused in buildings across the commune.The castle is privately owned. It has been listed since 1926 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

The Château de Grâne is a ruined castle in the commune of Grâne in the Drôme département of France. The castle stands above the village of Grâne and is largely in ruins. Remains include sections of the curtain wall and a tower. The mounting for an old mullioned window and a spiral staircase are visible, as well as vaulted cellars from the 13th century.

The Capuchin Friary in Crest in Drôme, France, is a Capuchin convent. The convent was established in 1609 in the former Benedictine priory of Crest. A small community of twelve friars lived there, following the contemplative life which that branch of the Franciscans had developed to revive. They followed a routine of prayer and study, as well as conducting preaching missions to the people of the surrounding towns and villages. The friars nursed the sick during a plague which struck the town in 1628, and carried off one-third of the townsfolk. A school for boys was established by the friars in 1682, which they maintained till 1712. The community of friars was suppressed during the French Revolution and the friary was confiscated by the town in 1791 and sold off two years later. The building was returned to the order in 1820. The friars were expelled once again in 1903 under the anticlerical laws in France, then in force under the Third Republic, but they were able to return in 1920. At that point, they established it as a seminary dedicated to the special preparation for their overseas mission fields in Syria and Central Africa. Armand-François-Marie de Charbonnel, OFMCap, (1802-1891), a former Bishop of Toronto, Canada, lived here in his retirement and is buried in the friary church. Currently (2010), it is occupied by a small community of retired friars.

Crest station (French: Gare de Crest) is a railway station located in Crest, Drôme, south-eastern France. The station was opened in 1871 and is located on the Livron to Aspres-sur-Buëch line. Train services are operated by SNCF.
