LV Osprey entered service as a Light Vessel for the Commissioners of Irish Lights in 1955. On 9 May 1975 she was sold to the New Ross Harbour Commissioners for use as a floating oil berth, pilot station and harbour store. In March 1998 she was sold again and moored on the Seine.Le Batofar ignited the "night club on boat" trend in Paris. This lighthouse boat (in French bateau-phare) offers an original setting on the bank of the Seine in the 13th arrondissement. It is known for its progressive musical programming which champions cutting edge electro bands live, and its renowned DJ-driven afterhours dance parties. Les Frigos is an arts centre located at 19 rue des Frigos in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, France. The large building is a former refrigerated storage depot built in 1920. It was squatted in 1985 and later legalized.

Paris Diderot University, also known as Paris 7 (French: Université Paris Diderot), was a French university located in Paris, France. It was one of the inheritors of the historic University of Paris, which was split into 13 universities in 1970. Paris Diderot merged with Paris Descartes University in 2019 to form Paris Cité University. With two Nobel Prize laureates, two Fields Medal winners and two former French Ministers of Education among its faculty or former faculty, the university was famous for its teaching in science, especially in mathematics. Many fundamental results of the theory of probability were discovered at one of its research centres, the Laboratoire de Probabilités et Modèles Aléatoires (Laboratory of Probability and Random Models).

The Great Mills of Paris (Grands Moulins de Paris) are former industrial flourmills which were built in Paris during World War I; they have now been rebuilt and become part of a university campus situated on “Quai Panhard-et-Levassor”. The Parc de Bercy (English: Park of Bercy) is a public park located along the Rive Droite in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Development started in 1994 on the site of a former wine depot, before an official opening three years later by Mayor Jean Tiberi. Sponsored by President François Mitterrand, the project covered 14 hectares (34.6 acres). Composed of three different gardens on different themes connected by foot bridges, the Parc de Bercy is Paris's tenth largest park. It is accessible by Bercy and Cour Saint-Émilion Métro stations, as well as by a foot bridge to the Mitterrand site of the Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF) on the other side of the Seine. The first director of the laboratory was Pierre Binetruy (2005-2013). From January 2014 until December 2017 the director was Stavros Katsanevas, followed by Sotiris Loucatos, and Antoine Kouchner (since July 2018).

The wine warehouses of Bercy were a commercial district reserved for wine merchants located in the Bercy neighborhood in the east of the 12th arrondissement of Paris. Located along the Seine, this area received, stored and distributed wines and spirits. During the late 1900s and the early 20th century, the Bercy wine district was the largest wine market in the world.

The Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir (initially known by the provisional name of passerelle Bercy-Tolbiac) is a bridge solely for pedestrians and cyclists across the Seine River in Paris. It is the 37th bridge on the Seine in Paris. It is located between the bridges of Pont de Bercy and Pont de Tolbiac and links up the 12th and 13th arrondissements of Paris. Its nearest Paris Metro station is Quai de la Gare.

The Institut Jacques Monod, funded jointly by the CNRS and the University Paris Diderot, is one of the main centres for basic research in biology in Paris, France. It is headed by Michel Werner. There are 3 broad research topics (Genome and chromosome dynamics, Cellular dynamics and signalling, Development and evolution) and 2 main transverse axes (Quantitative biology and modelling, Molecular and cellular pathologies). Research at the interface of biology with physics, mathematics, chemistry and medicine is strongly encouraged. Some 300 people work at the Institute (tenured investigators, Ph.D. students, post-docs, technicians, engineers, French and foreign visitors, and administrative staff).

Paris Rive Gauche is a new neighbourhood in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, on the left bank of the Seine. The district is bordered by the Seine, the railway tracks of Gare d'Austerlitz and the Boulevard Périphérique. This 130 ha plot of land has 10 ha of green spaces and 2,000 trees. Paris Rive Gauche is divided into three districts along the Seine: Austerlitz, Tolbiac and Massena (from North to South).A dense, compact, multi-faceted, mixed income, pedestrian-friendly, cyclist-friendly, and public transport rich new development. With construction starting in 1995, this sector was built around former railway yards, warehouses, and industrial businesses. It has been cited as a model of quality urban design and planning integration with sustainable transport.The vast Bibliothèque nationale de France and one of the campuses of the University of Paris are located in this area, along the river. The development accommodates approximately 15,000 residents, 30,000 students and university staff and 50,000 employees. It is served by the Métro and RER stations Bibliothèque François Mitterrand, Line 3A at the stop Avenue de France, and Paris Métro station Quai de la Gare.
