Blyth Priory was a priory in Nottinghamshire, England, dedicated to St Mary the Virgin.

Oldcotes Dyke is the name of the final section of a river system that drains parts of north Nottinghamshire and the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. Historically, it has supported milling, with seven water mills drawing their power from its water, and ran through the grounds of the Cistercian Roche Abbey. It is a tributary of the River Ryton.

Worksop (previously Blyth and Cuckney) was a Rural District in Nottinghamshire, England. It originated as Worksop Rural Sanitary District in 1872. In 1894, under the Local Government Act 1894, the Worksop RSD was split to match county borders, with the West Riding of Yorkshire part becoming the Kiveton Park Rural District, and the Derbyshire part becoming Clowne Rural District. The remainder, in Nottinghamshire, became the Blyth and Cuckney Rural District, taking its name from two of the parishes, Blyth and Cuckney. In 1925 it was renamed Worksop Rural District. The district consisted of two detached parts, north and south of the town of Worksop. The northern part contained Blyth; the southern contained Cuckney. It was abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972 and now forms part of the Bassetlaw district, with the exception of small areas that are now part of the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster.

Despite its name, it is not and never has been a priory. Hodsock is renowned for its snowdrops in early spring. It is also a venue for special events and weddings.

Serlby Hall is a grade I listed 18th century mansion and estate in Nottinghamshire, England, located 7 miles north-east of Worksop.It is constructed of red brick and ashlar with a hipped slate roof. It is built in two storeys with a nine bay frontage, which has a colonnaded portico.

The parish lies in the north of the county. It is 138 miles north west of London, 31 miles north of the city of Nottingham, and 15 miles east of the city of Sheffield. The parish rests alongside the county border with South Yorkshire.

Harworth Colliery was a colliery near the town of Harworth Bircotes in Bassetlaw, Nottinghamshire, England. It was abandoned in 2006 due to troubles at the seam. UK Coal, who owned and maintained the mine, were waiting for a contract to make it worth investing money to open up a new seam. Bassetlaw has at the moment no working pits; the nearest was Maltby Main Colliery in South Yorkshire which closed in 2013. The mothballing of the pit in 2006 brought an end to 86 years of mining in Bassetlaw. The area has since been redeveloped for retail, industrial and residential.

Bilby is a hamlet in Nottinghamshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Barnby Moor. It is located 5 miles west of Retford, close to the A1 road. Bilby was recorded in the Domesday Book as Billebi.

Styrrup is a village in the civil parish of Styrrup with Oldcotes on the B6463 road in the Bassetlaw district, in the English county of Nottinghamshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 685. It is near the small town of Harworth. The village is surrounded by farmland and is approximately 1 mile from the A1 road intersection at Blyth. The housing consists primarily of modern properties constructed in the 1970s and numerous barn conversions arranged off the Main Street. The local pub, The White Swan, has been demolished and replaced by modern housing.
