St. Mary and St. Martin's Church, Blyth, is a Grade I listed parish church in Blyth, Nottinghamshire, England.

Blyth is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of the county of Nottinghamshire, in the East Midlands, north west of East Retford, on the River Ryton. The population of the civil parish as of the 2011 census is 1,233. It sits at a junction with the A1, and the end of the motorway section from Doncaster.

Oldcotes Dyke is the name of the final section of a river system that drains parts of north Nottinghamshire and the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham in South Yorkshire, England. Historically, it has supported milling, with seven water mills drawing their power from its water, and ran through the grounds of the Cistercian Roche Abbey. It is a tributary of the River Ryton.

Serlby Hall is a grade I listed 18th century mansion and estate in Nottinghamshire, England, located 7 miles north-east of Worksop.It is constructed of red brick and ashlar with a hipped slate roof. It is built in two storeys with a nine bay frontage, which has a colonnaded portico.

Ranskill is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England, with its nearest town being Retford approximately 5 miles (8.0 kilometres) south. The Ranskill parish according to the 2001 census has 2,226 residents, falling to 1,362 at the 2011 census. There is also a Bassetlaw ward called Ranskill. This ward had a population of 2,417 at the 2011 census.Ranskill dates back to the Danish invasions of the 9th century where the name 'Ravenskelf' meant 'shelving knoll/ridge of the raven'.The village features St. Barnabas Church, built in 1878 and a Methodist chapel first built in 1868 and expanded in the 1930s. The Methodist chapel also features a schoolroom, where today the local newspaper, the STAR (Scrooby, Torworth and Ranskill) is printed. Ranskill also has a reading room, built in 1891 by the Gillott family as a library and reading room, where in 1909 the room was changed to include billiard tables. Today the room is still in use and features two billiard tables, two pool tables and a darts board. The East Coast Main Line railway passes to the east of the village, which was the site of a Royal Ordnance Factory from 1940 until 1975. Ranskill also had a railway station which opened in 1852 where there was a half-hourly service between Retford and Doncaster. The station closed in 1958.

Hodsock is a settlement and civil parish about 4 miles from Worksop, in the Bassetlaw district, in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. The parish includes the village of Langold and the country house Hodsock Priory. In 2011 the parish had a population of 2,472. The parish is surrounded by the settlements of Babworth, Barnby Moor, Blyth, Carlton in Lindrick, Costhorpe, Firbeck, Letwell, Maltby, Styrrup with Oldcotes and Torworth.

Harworth Colliery was a colliery near the town of Harworth Bircotes in Bassetlaw, Nottinghamshire, England. It was abandoned in 2006 due to troubles at the seam. UK Coal, who owned and maintained the mine, were waiting for a contract to make it worth investing money to open up a new seam. Bassetlaw has at the moment no working pits; the nearest was Maltby Main Colliery in South Yorkshire which closed in 2013. The mothballing of the pit in 2006 brought an end to 86 years of mining in Bassetlaw. The area has since been redeveloped for retail, industrial and residential.

Hodsock Priory is an English country house in Hodsock, Nottinghamshire, 4 miles (6.4 km) north of Worksop, England, and 1 mile (1.6 km) south of Blyth. Despite its name, it is not and never has been a priory. Hodsock is renowned for its snowdrops in early spring. It is also a venue for special events and weddings.

Bircotes is an area in the civil parish of Harworth Bircotes (with Harworth) in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England on the border with South Yorkshire. The population of the civil parish was 7,948. The local school in the area is Serlby Park Academy. Bircotes was founded in the 1920s, with the discovery of coal during the First World War and the establishment of Harworth Colliery (which has since closed), to provide homes for miners. It was home to one of the last deep-mine pits in the UK.

Bilby is a hamlet in Nottinghamshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Barnby Moor. It is located 5 miles west of Retford, close to the A1 road. Bilby was recorded in the Domesday Book as Billebi.
