Mautby is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, in the East Flegg Hundred. The parish comprises a largely rural area along the north bank of the River Bure, and also includes the small villages of Runham and Thrigby. It is located some 10 km (6.2 mi) northwest of the town of Great Yarmouth and 30 km (19 mi) east of the city of Norwich.The civil parish has an area of 16.6 km2 (6.4 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 395 in 145 households, the population reducing to 383 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.The parish churches of Mautby and Runham are both dedicated to St Peter and St Paul; Thrigby's dedication is to St Mary. All three churches are Grade II* listed.

Filby is a village and civil parish in the English of Norfolk. The village is located 4.6 miles (7.4 km) north-west of Great Yarmouth and 15 miles (24 km) east of Norwich, between Filby and Ormesby Little Broads.

Ormesby St Michael is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated some 12 km (7.5 mi) north-west of the town of Great Yarmouth and 25 km (16 mi) east of the city of Norwich. Nearby are Ormesby Broad and Ormesby Little Broad, both part of the Trinity Broads within The Broads.The villages name means 'Omr's farm/settlement'. The civil parish has an area of 4.21 km2 (1.63 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 297 in 128 households, increasing to 302 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.Ormesby Manor is a Grade II listed 19th manor house with an Italianate tower.Ormesby St Michael should not be mistaken for the village of Ormesby St Margaret, which lies some 3 km (1.9 mi) to the east.

Thrigby is a village and former civil parish 14 miles (23 km) east of Norwich, now in the parish of Mautby, in the Great Yarmouth district, in the county of Norfolk, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 47.

Trinity Broads is a 316.8-hectare (783-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest north of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. They are in The Broads Special Area of Conservation. They are also part of the Broads National Park in Norfolk, England, comprising 5 broads in total. The three largest are Rollesby Broad, Ormesby Broad and Filby Broad, and there are two much smaller broads named Lily Broad and Ormesby Little Broad. They are managed by the Broads Authority.The Trinity Broads are on a tributary of the River Bure, but there is no navigable link to the main river system, and they are therefore virtually undisturbed.

Filby Broad is one of five broads (lakes) in the Trinity Broads in Norfolk, England. It lies within the Broads National Park, adjacent to the village of Filby. The broad has an abundant selection of birds and wildlife. The lake is connected to Ormesby Broad and Rollesby Broad via a narrow inlet under a road bridge and via the River Bure and the main broads network by a now unnavigable cutting with a lock gate. This cuts the broad off from the main Broadland area and that means there is no water traffic for a majority of the time. As with the other Norfolk broads, Filby is a peat working and is now only about six to eight feet at its deepest. It is approximately half-a-mile long and surrounded on all sides by reed banks and trees, and one end of the Bridges Carrs area of the broad has been given Site of Special Scientific Interest status. Currently the main use as a body of water is as a reservoir serving the Yarmouth and Broadland areas, owned and operated by the Essex and Suffolk Water Company. There is no public access to the Broad. It has a public boardwalk constructed at the north west side. As a leisure facility the main occupant of the broad is the Norfolk Schools Sailing Association, which has occupied the site since the early 1970s and has built over time a sailing base, slip ways and dinghy park at the north end of the broad. The Association is a voluntary group that provides sailing training to children and adults within the county of Norfolk. This has created a body of water that has a very restricted level of human access leaving it an ideal spot within the broadland area for nesting birds away from the tourist bustle of the main rivers.

West Caister is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated just inland from the coast, some 2 km (1.2 mi) from the seaside resort of Caister-on-Sea and 4 km (2.5 mi) north of the town of Great Yarmouth.The civil parish has an area of 6.85 km2 (2.64 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 195 in 83 households, reducing to a population of 175 in 72 households at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.West Caister is the site of Caister Castle, a 15th-century moated castle built by Sir John Fastolf, who was the inspiration for William Shakespeare's Falstaff. The great Thomas Ward lived much of his life there adjacent to the main part of the village next to its close neighbour Ormesby St Margaret".

Great Ormesby railway station was a station in Ormesby St Margaret, Norfolk. It was opened in 1877 and later became part of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway route bringing holiday passengers from the Midlands to the Norfolk coastal resorts. It was closed in 1959 along with the rest of the line.

Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is made up of the inland village of Ormesby St Margaret and the adjacent seaside resorts of Scratby and California. The villages are some 1.2 mi (1.9 km) apart, and they are situated about 6.2 mi (10.0 km) north of the town of Great Yarmouth and 19 mi (31 km) east of the city of Norwich.The civil parish has an area of 4.5 mi (7.2 km) and in the 2001 census had a population of 4,021 in 1,680 households, the population reducing to 3,974 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.Ormesby St Margaret is separate from the village of Ormesby St Michael, which lies some 2 mi (3.2 km) to the west. Great Ormesby railway station was once located here on the line between Great Yarmouth and Melton Constable. It is now closed. California owes its name to the discovery of some 16th-century gold coins on the beach in 1848, at a time when the California gold rush had captured the attention of the world. The 1940s Home front museum Blitz and Pieces is based in the parish.

Hall Farm Fen, Hemsby is a 9.2-hectare (23-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Hemsby in Norfolk. It is part of the Broadland Ramsar site and Special Protection Area, and The Broads Special Area of Conservation.This area of unimproved fen grassland and dykes is grazed by horses and cattle. It has diverse flora, including many orchids. The dykes have well developed aquatic plants and a rich variety of invertebrates, including the nationally rare freshwater snail Segmentina nitida.There is public access from a footpath through the site.

According to 19th-century directories, Nowhere or No-Where is a marshy area by the River Bure where the villagers of Acle, Norfolk had salt-pans to produce salt for food preservation, etc. In 1861 there were four inhabited houses and 16 people. Originally an extra-parochial liberty, it was formally incorporated into Acle parish in 1862 and the name no longer appears in maps and gazetteers.

Duncan Hall School was a boys’ prep school at Scratby Hall in Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby, Norfolk from 1949 to 1986, with girls admitted from 1979. Prior to occupying Scratby Hall, it was located in Great Yarmouth and was called Duncan House.
