West Caister

Caister Roman Site is a Roman Saxon Shore fort, located in Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk, England. It was constructed around AD 200 for a unit of the Roman army and navy and occupied until around 370-390 AD. This fort was possibly known as Gariannonum, although the single record that describes it as such may also mean the Roman site at Burgh Castle.

North Denes Airport (ICAO: EGSD) is a heliport that is located in the northern suburbs of Great Yarmouth, just off the A149 next to Yarmouth Stadium, formerly used as a base for services to the gas platforms in the southern North Sea. Fixed-wing aircraft were not permitted to use the heliport. The heliport was owned by CHC Helicopter, which operated several AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters.

Yarmouth Stadium is a greyhound racing track located at Caister-on-Sea in the Borough of Great Yarmouth and English county of Norfolk. It is licensed by the Greyhound Board of Great Britain.Greyhound Racing takes place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evening. Facilities include a modern designed 'Raceview Restaurant' seating 240, several executive suites, fast food facilities and a number of bars.

Scratby Halt was a railway station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway which served the Norfolk village of Scratby, England.

Great Ormesby railway station was a station in Ormesby St Margaret, Norfolk. It was opened in 1877 and later became part of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway route bringing holiday passengers from the Midlands to the Norfolk coastal resorts. It was closed in 1959 along with the rest of the line.

Caister-on-Sea railway station is a former railway station in Norfolk, England. It was opened in 1877. It later became part of the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway route from Birmingham to Great Yarmouth, predominantly used by holidaymakers. The station was a few miles north of the terminus at Yarmouth Beach railway station. The station closed with the rest of the line in 1959. The station was demolished after closure and houses now cover the site.

Caister-on-Sea, also known colloquially as Caister, is a large village and seaside resort in Norfolk, England. It is close to the large town of Great Yarmouth. At the 2001 census it had a population of 8,756 and 3,970 households, the population increasing to 8,901 at the 2011 Census.It used to be served by Caister-on-Sea railway station. Following its closure in 1959, Great Yarmouth railway station, 4 km (2.5 mi) to the south, became the nearest station.The wind farm at Scroby Sands has thirty 2–megawatt wind turbines, 2.5 km (1.6 mi) off shore. Caister Castle, a 15th century tower, and part of which is now a car museum, is about 2 km (1.2 mi) to the west.

California Halt was a railway station on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway which served the Norfolk village of California, England.

The Never Turn Back is a grade II listed public house in Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk, England. It was designed by A. W. Ecclestone in the Art Deco and Streamline Moderne styles and built in 1956 (opening the following year) as a memorial to the nine lifeboatmen who died in the Caister lifeboat disaster of 1901.Arthur William "Billy" Ecclestone was chief surveyor of Norfolk brewers Lacons.

Ormesby St Margaret with Scratby is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is made up of the inland village of Ormesby St Margaret and the adjacent seaside resorts of Scratby and California. The villages are some 1.2 mi (1.9 km) apart, and they are situated about 6.2 mi (10.0 km) north of the town of Great Yarmouth and 19 mi (31 km) east of the city of Norwich.The civil parish has an area of 4.5 mi (7.2 km) and in the 2001 census had a population of 4,021 in 1,680 households, the population reducing to 3,974 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Great Yarmouth.Ormesby St Margaret is separate from the village of Ormesby St Michael, which lies some 2 mi (3.2 km) to the west. Great Ormesby railway station was once located here on the line between Great Yarmouth and Melton Constable. It is now closed. California owes its name to the discovery of some 16th-century gold coins on the beach in 1848, at a time when the California gold rush had captured the attention of the world. The 1940s Home front museum Blitz and Pieces is based in the parish.
