Aunac (French pronunciation: [onak]) is a former commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Aunac-sur-Charente.

Aunac-sur-Charente (French pronunciation: [onak syʁ ʃaʁɑ̃t], literally Aunac on Charente) is a commune in the department of Charente, southwestern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Aunac (the seat), Bayers and Chenommet. On 1 January 2025, the former commune of Moutonneau was merged into Aunac-sur-Charente.

The Château de Bayers is a historic château that is located in the commune of Bayers (which merged into the new commune, Aunac-sur-Charente, in 2017), in the French department of Charente in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The château overlooks the Charente river and is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) north of Angoulême.

The village of Lichéres is home to a 12th-century Catholic church dedicated to Saint Denis. Saint Denis of Lichéres has been considered a Monument historique since 1903. Although there is a conventional road bridge across the river Charente near La Salle, there is also a very small ferry called a Barque. The Barque is guided by a steel wire with which users propel the boat.

Chenommet (French pronunciation: [ʃənɔmɛ]) is a former commune in the Charente department in southwestern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Aunac-sur-Charente.

The Bonnieure (French pronunciation: [bɔnjœʁ]) is a river in the Charente département, southwestern France, left tributary to the river Charente. It is 46.9 km (29.1 mi) long. Its source is in Genouillac, in the east of the department. It flows into the Charente near Mansle. Another town along the Bonnieure is Chasseneuil-sur-Bonnieure. The Tardoire is a left tributary of the Bonnieure.

The Tardoire (French pronunciation: [taʁdwaʁ]) is a river in southwestern France, left tributary to the river Bonnieure. It is 114 km (71 mi) long. Its source is in Châlus, in the Haute-Vienne département. It flows into the Bonnieure near Saint-Ciers-sur-Bonnieure. Over much of its length, the Tardoire flows underground. Its largest tributary is the Bandiat. It flows through the following départements and towns: Haute-Vienne: Châlus, Cussac Charente: Montbron, La Rochefoucauld, Rivières (a small municipality next to La Rochefoucauld)

Saint-Ciers-sur-Bonnieure (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ sje syʁ bɔnjœʁ], literally Saint-Ciers on Bonnieure, before 1962: Saint-Ciers) is a commune in the Charente department in southwestern France.
