Pitcher Mountain

Stoddard is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 1,374 at the 2020 census, up from 1,232 at the 2010 census.Between 1842 and 1873, the town was home to four glass manufacturers. The glass produced by these works, now known as Stoddard glass, is noted for its deep amber colors and design. Stoddard glass products are highly prized by collectors.

Highland Lake is a 697-acre (2.82 km2) water body located in Sullivan and Cheshire counties in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Washington and Stoddard. The lake has two outlets. The north outlet feeds Shedd Brook, while the south outlet flows through Island Pond to the North Branch of the Contoocook River. Water from the two outlets rejoins in the town of Hillsborough, approximately 8 miles (13 km) east of Highland Lake and one mile upstream from the Contoocook River. The northern end of the lake is only accessible by boat through a channel approximately 50 feet wide. The lake has been a popular site for recreational boating during the summer and snowmobiling during the winter since before the 1960s. Waterskiiers are a frequent sight, and sea planes are known to occasionally use the lake. Most of the lakeside real estate has seasonal and year-round residences situated on plots of land smaller than .25 acres. The Highland Lake Marina (the waterway's only such establishment) is located at the end of Shedd Hill Road. It is open during summer weekends, and offers boat storage, docking, and recreational merchandise. There is also a diner attached. The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery and is home to species such as black crappie, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, horned pout, and white perch. The land surrounding Pickerel Cove is owned and protected by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests.

Island Pond is a 179-acre (0.72 km2) water body located in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Stoddard. It is fed primarily by the outflow from Highland Lake, and its outlet is a tributary of the North Branch Contoocook River, part of the Merrimack River watershed. The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery and contains largemouth and smallmouth bass, rock bass, yellow perch, pumpkinseed and horned pout.

Granite Lake is a 233-acre (0.9 km2) lake located in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Nelson and Stoddard. The village of Munsonville, within the town of Nelson, is located at the outlet. The lake flows into a tributary of Otter Brook, which flows southwest to the Ashuelot River in Keene and thence to the Connecticut River. Granite Lake Dam regulates the lake's water level.New Hampshire Route 9 formerly passed along the southern shore of the lake as it traveled from Keene to Hillsborough, but since the 1990s has bypassed the lake on higher ground to the south. The old routing is now the local Granite Lake Road. The lake is classified as a coldwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, rock bass, chain pickerel, and horned pout.

Nelson is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 629 at the 2020 census, down from 729 at the 2010 census. Nelson includes the village of Munsonville.

The Nelson Schoolhouse is a historic school building at 7 Nelson Common Road in Nelson, New Hampshire, United States. Built in 1838 as a district schoolhouse, it served as a school and community function space for many years, and now houses town offices. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Sullivan is a town in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 658 at the 2020 census. It includes the villages of East Sullivan and Ellisville.

Windsor is a town in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 262 at the 2020 census. It is the location of the Wediko Children's Services Summer Program and of Windsor Mountain International, a summer adventure and travel camp founded in 1961. It is also the home of Windsor Hills Camp and Retreat Center, a ministry of the Church of the Nazarene.

The outlet of the lake is Nubanusit Brook, a tributary of the Contoocook River in the Merrimack River drainage basin. The lake is classified as a coldwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, chain pickerel, yellow perch, and horned pout.

The Timothy Bancroft House is a historic house on Bancroft Road in Harrisville, New Hampshire. Located in a rural area once known as Mosquitoville, this c. 1785 wood-frame house was built by Timothy Bancroft, who operated a sawmill nearby that was one of the town's major industries for nearly a century. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.

Silver Lake is a 346-acre (1.40 km2) water body located in Cheshire County in southwestern New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Harrisville and Nelson. Water from Silver Lake flows via Minnewawa Brook and The Branch to the Ashuelot River, a tributary of the Connecticut River. The Silver Lake District, located along the southern portion of the lake, is a historic district listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The lake is classified as a coldwater fishery, with observed species including rainbow trout, lake trout, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and horned pout. Many small islands on the south and west side of the lake are NH Loon Preserve registered habitats. In 2018, the largest remaining undeveloped parcel on Silver Lake was permanently protected via a conservation easement with the Harris Center for Conservation Education. The center worked closely with the Silver Lake Land Trust and the Seaver Silver Lake Farm Trust for more than a year on the project. The easement includes 50 acres (20 ha) of land and nearly 800 feet (240 m) of shoreline on the southern end of the lake in Harrisville, and it adds to a block of more than 6,000 acres (2,400 ha) of contiguous conservation land in the towns of Nelson, Roxbury, Harrisville, and Marlborough. With the completion of the project, 80% of the Silver Lake watershed, including 2.9 miles (4.7 km) of shoreline, are protected.
