Tielt

The Arrondissement of Tielt (Dutch: Arrondissement Tielt; French: Arrondissement de Tielt) is one of the eight administrative arrondissements in the Province of West Flanders, Belgium.

Pittem (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈpɪtɛm]) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Egem and Pittem proper. Pittem has a population of more than 6,700. The total area is 34.42 km² which gives a population density of 192 inhabitants per km².

Meulebeke (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmøːləˌbeːkə]; West Flemish: Mullebeke) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Meulebeke proper. On January 1, 2006, Meulebeke had a total population of 10,980. The total area is 29.35 km² which gives a population density of 374 inhabitants per km².

Wingene (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʋɪŋənə]; West Flemish: Wiengne; historically: Wynghene) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Wingene proper and Zwevezele. On December 1, 2019, Wingene had a total population of 14,398. The total area is 68.42 km2 which gives a population density of 192 inhabitants per km2.

Ruiselede (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈrœy̯səˌleːdə]; West Flemish: Ruuslee; historically Ruysselede) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. This town only comprises the town of Ruiselede proper. On January 1, 2006, Ruiselede had a total population of 5,113. The total area is 30.20 km2 which gives a population density of 169 inhabitants per km2. Ruiselede was the location of a coastal radio site. From 1923 to 1940 it had a VLF aerial. On 30 December 1933, the mast was demolished when an aircraft collided with it.

The 1933 Imperial Airways Ruysselede crash occurred on 30 December 1933 when an Imperial Airways Avro Ten collided with one of the radio masts of Belradio at Ruysselede, West Flanders, Belgium and crashed killing all ten people on board. The aircraft was operating an international scheduled passenger flight from Cologne, Germany to London, England via Brussels, Belgium.

The Zendmasts of Ruiselede were eight 287-metre (942-foot) high guyed radio masts at Ruiselede, Belgium, built in 1923 for carrying an aerial for VLF transmission (nominal frequency 16.2 kHz). On 30 December 1933, an Imperial Airways aircraft crashed into a mast and demolished it. Most of the masts were blown up by German troops in October 1940. The masts were designed by the Belgian engineer Arthur Vierendeel.

The VRT Zendstation Egem is a 305 metres (1,001 ft) tall guyed mast used as a broadcast antenna. It broadcasts the radio and TV programs of the VRT and Q-Music, JOE fm, and Nostalgie Vlaanderen. There are also a number of antennas for mobile communications (Base, Mobistar and Proximus) attached to the mast. It was built in 1973 and is located in Egem in Pittem, West Flanders, Belgium. It was the tallest structure in Belgium, the Sint-Pieters-Leeuw Tower beats it with its 302 meters in height. Since 2008 the tower is owned and operated by Norkring België.Radio services broadcast from the site (particularly those of the VRT) can be received in parts of neighbouring countries. Reception of the VRT services can regularly be received in the southern provinces of the Netherlands, Nord-Pas-de-Calais in Northern France and Kent in Southeast England.

Oostrozebeke (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌoːstˈroːzəbeːkə]; West Flemish: Ôostrôzebeke) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Oostrozebeke proper. On January 1, 2018 Oostrozebeke had a total population of 7,849. The total area is 16.62 km² which gives a population density of 472 inhabitants per km².

Kanegem is a Belgian locality, part of the municipality of Tielt, in the eastern part of the province of West Flanders. This rural locality is known as the "Green Village".
