The Institute of Leather Engineering & Technology (ILET) is an educational institution at Hazaribagh, Dhaka, Bangladesh that provides education related to making leather, leather products and footwear. It is an institute of the University of Dhaka.

Birshreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College (BNMPC) (formerly Rifles Public School and College) is a Bangladeshi school and college located at the headquarters of Border Guard Bangladesh in Pilkhana. Although, originally established to ensure the education of the children of Border Guards Bangladesh (former Bangladesh Rifles) members but civilians can also study here. Major General Shakil Ahmed is the chief patron of the college, Brigadier General Benazir Ahmed is the chairperson of the governing body, and Lieutenant Colonel Md. Abu Sayed is the principal.

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (Bengali: লিবারেল আর্টস বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশ) (ULAB) is a private liberal arts-based University in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in February 2002, permission to open was received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh in November 2003, pursuant to the Private University Act 1992. ULAB incorporates the values of Liberal Arts and Sustainability into its curricula, through its General Education Department and its Center for Sustainable Development (CSD). ULAB is a research-intensive University, with multiple research opportunities for its faculty members and students. The Bangladesh Rifles revolt, also known as the Pilkhana massacre or Pilkhana tragedy, was a mutiny that took place on 25–26 February 2009 in Dhaka, when a group of Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) personnel seized the force’s headquarters in Pilkhana. The mutineers killed Director General Shakil Ahmed, 56 other army officers and 17 civilians, fired on bystanders, held officers and their families hostage, and looted and vandalised property. Unrest later spread to several other cities before the rebels surrendered following negotiations with the government. In 2013, a Dhaka court convicted hundreds of accused BDR personnel in what international human rights organisations criticised as an unfair mass trial. On 23 December 2024, the Ministry of Home Affairs established a seven-member commission to re-investigate the incident, which reported in November 2025 that the mutiny had been a planned operation rather than a spontaneous uprising, alleging involvement of senior Awami League figures, including incumbent Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and flagging evidence destruction and gaps in the original probe.

Northern University Bangladesh (Bengali: নর্দান বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশ) or NUB is a private university in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established in 2002. The university was sponsored and funded by International Business Agriculture & Technology (IUBAT) Trust. Presently known as NUB Trust (NUBT), a registered, non-political, non-profit voluntary organization, NUB made its foray into the field of higher education and established itself as a center for excellence.

University of Asia Pacific (Bengali: ইউনিভার্সিটি অব এশিয়া প্যাসিফিক) often abbreviated as UAP is a private university located at Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The Dhanmondi Shahi Eidgah (Bengali: ধানমণ্ডী শাহী ঈদগাহ), also known as Mughal Eidgah (Bengali: মোগল ঈদগাহ), is located in Saat Masjid road, in Dhanmondi residential area of Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Eidgah was built in 1640 CE during the Mughal era and has been in use for Eid celebration since then.The structure is a listed archaeological site of the Department of Archaeology and has historical, architectural and heritage values. It is an example of Mughal architecture. Conservationist architect Abu Sayeed M Ahmed wrote, "This Eidgah is the oldest surviving Mughal monument in Dhaka city. There is no second one with the architectural forms and features similar to it."

Northern International Medical College is a medical school in Dhaka, Bangladesh, affiliated with University of Dhaka and approved by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). It was established in 2005.

Popular Medical College (PMC) (Bengali: পপুলার মেডিকেল কলেজ) is a private medical school in Bangladesh, established in 2010. It is located in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. It is affiliated with University of Dhaka as a constituent college. It offers a five-year course of study leading to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. A one-year internship after graduation is compulsory for all graduates. The degree is recognised by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council.

Institute of Social Welfare and Research is one of the oldest institutes of the University of Dhaka. It is the apex institution for the social work education in Bangladesh. It offers Graduation, Post-Graduation, M.Phil and PhD degrees to students in social welfare/social work. The institute is situated in New Market area in the capital, adjacent to the gate-3 of Border Guard Bangladesh headquarters. It is situated in the same premises of two female dormitories of the University of Dhaka, Begum Fajilatunnessa Mujib Hall and Bangladesh- Kuwait Maitree Hall and detached from the main campus of the University of Dhaka.
