Llanfair Talhaiarn

The River Aled, a small river near Conwy County Borough, flows into River Elwy.The river originates at Llyn Aled on Mynydd Hiraethog to the right of the village Llansannan. It flows through Llyn Aled Isaf and then towards the north through Llansannan and Bryn Rhyd-yr-arian before meeting River Elwy to the east of village Llanfair Talhaearn. The River Aled is controlled, and thus so is the River Elwy, by reservoirs and Llyn Aled. In the Middle Ages the river marked the boundary between Commotes and Upper and Lower Aled. Fishing on a long section of the River Aled, both banks, is controlled by the Rhyl and St Angling Association, near to Bryn Rhyd-yr-Arian.

Llansannan is a rural village and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It lies on the bank of the River Aled and is about 8 miles to the south of Abergele and 9 miles (14 km) to the west of Denbigh. The population was 1,291 in 2001, with 67% able to speak Welsh. The figures for the 2011 census were: population 1,335 with 63% able to speak Welsh. The community includes the hamlets of Bylchau, Rhydgaled and Y Groes, and the lake Llyn Aled and reservoir Aled Isaf on Mynydd Hiraethog. Llansannan is in the traditional county of Denbighshire.

Betws yn Rhos (English: Chapel house in Rhos) is a village and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales. Betws yn Rhos is located about 5 miles (8.0 km) inland between the coastal towns of Abergele and Colwyn Bay. Until 1974 it formed part of Denbighshire, but subsequent local government reorganisations saw it administered as part of Clwyd from 1974 to 1996, before its current administration as part of Conwy County Borough. At the 2001 census the population was 944, increasing to 1,052 at the 2011 census.The village itself only has a population of 312. The community includes the small settlements of Llanelian-yn-Rhos, Trofarth, Dolwen , Bryn-y-maen, and Dawn.

Moelfre Isaf is a 317 m (1,040 ft) hill located to the south of the town of Abergele. There are views towards the Clwydian Range, Snowdonia, and the Isle of Man and the Cumbrian Mountains can be seen on a clear day. Nearby is the small settlement of Moelfre, Conwy. Almost opposite is the higher hill of Moelfre Uchaf.

Moelfre Uchaf is a hill in the borough of Conwy, North Wales, 5 miles (8.0 km) south-east of Colwyn Bay and 1.5 mi (2.4 km) south-west of Betws-yn-Rhos. It is 396 m (1,299 ft) above sea level. A trigpoint is on the summit.

Moelfre is a hamlet in the county of Conwy, North Wales, close to Abergele (3 miles north), Betws yn Rhos (4 miles west) and Llanfair Talhaiarn (3 miles south). A commercial fishing pond, some small places of accommodation, a small independent beer and mead brewery, a handful of farms and a logging enterprise are located in the region. There are no shops or amenities nearby (the closest being a petrol station and garage at Pentrefail Crossroads, 1 mile west, which provides basic foodstuffs for tourist campsites and locals in the area). A public house once located in Moelfre closed a few years ago and is now a large residential property. Running through Moelfre is the Roman road that was heavily used by Roman soldiers during the Welsh occupation. From the road Moelfre Isaf, a large hill (1040 ft) with views of Snowdonia, can be reached on foot. A hoard of Bronze Age axe-heads has been found on Moelfre Isaf and the hill was used for the lighting of a beacon (as part of a chain of other high places throughout Wales) to celebrate the marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana in 1981. Wild animals and birds are varied in the woodland and groups of wild deer are sometimes seen in the copses near Moelfre at night.

Colwyn was a local government district with borough status from 1974 to 1996, being one of six districts in the county of Clwyd, north-east Wales.

Abergele Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Abergele) is a community hospital in Abergele, Wales. It is managed by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Castell Cawr, or Tan-y-Gopa as it is known locally, is a heavily forested hill above the town of Abergele in Conwy county borough, Wales. On it is found the Iron Age hillfort of Castell Cawr, which overlooks the River Clwyd. Rare lesser horseshoe bats inhabit caves on the hill. The woods are owned by the Woodland Trust. The hill rises to 189 m (620 ft) above sea level, with extensive views to Snowdonia and the Clwydian Range. Thomas Pennant visited the area in the 18th century, and noted the existence of the hillfort. In 1860, James Halliwell-Phillipps wrote that the outline of the hillfort was obscured by vegetation, and identified the workings of a Roman lead mine on the hillside. The Welsh knew these excavations by the name "Ffos-y-bleiddiaid" ("Ditch of the Wolves")

Coed y Gopa is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the preserved county of Clwyd, north Wales. Located on a prominent limestone hillside in the Vale of Clwyd in North Wales, Coed y Gopa is a popular wood managed by the Woodland Trust, with a wide variety of wildlife, coastal views, and features of historical interest.Mine adits and natural caves provide roosts for bats and the second largest lesser horseshoe bat hibernaculum in North East Wales is present at the site, hence the designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The site is also home to ospreys and goshawks.The hill fort of Castell Cawr is located within the SSSI.

Rhyd-y-foel is a small village near the coast of north Wales in the area of Rhos in the County Borough of Conwy, Wales. It is named after the old ford (Welsh: rhyd) over the River Dulas. It lies at the foot of the western slopes of Pen y Corddyn Mawr, an Iron Age hillfort on the River Dulas, about a mile south of the village of Llanddulas. It is a rural area, with Abergele to the east and Betws yn Rhos to the south.

Abergele Golf Club (Welsh: Clwb Golff Abergele) is a golf club located in Abergele, Conwy, Clwyd, Wales. The 18-hole course was formed in 1910 and established itself at its present location in 1968 near Gwrych Castle and is a member of the Community amateur sports club. It was redesigned between 2002 and 2003 to meet United States Golf Association standards allowing its members and visitors to play on the course all-year round. Abergele Golf Club is regarded by many golf publications to be "one of the most picturesque courses in Wales". Becky Brewerton, a member of the Ladies European Tour, has played on the course, and Abergele Golf Club has held several regional and national golf tournaments.
