Thursford

Thursford railway station was a station in Norfolk, England on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway line between Melton Constable and South Lynn. It was closed in 1959 along with the rest of the line. It served the settlement of Thursford, where Station Road remains as a reminder.

Thursford Wood is a 10-hectare (25-acre) nature reserve north-east of Fakenham in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.The oak trees in this wood are some of the oldest in the county, and some may be over 500 years old. The site also has a variety of woodland birds, as well as many ferns and fungi.The site is open to the public.

The Thursford Collection is a museum located in Thursford, Norfolk. Founded by local man George Cushing, it is now known for the scale of its collection of steam engines, organs and fairground attractions, and its annual Christmas spectacular show, which draws over 100,000 people to the Norfolk countryside.The Thursford Collection is a registered charity under English law.

Swanton Novers Woods is an 83-hectare (210-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Fakenham in Norfolk. The site is composed of Swanton Great Wood, Little Wood, Barney Wood and Guybon's Wood. It is a Nature Conservation Review site, Grade I. Swanton Great Wood and Little Wood are designated Swanton Novers National Nature ReserveThese ancient woods are almost certainly of primary origin, and they are regarded as one of the most important groups of woods in the country. The trees and ground flora are exceptionally diverse, and they include the nationally rare may lily.The site is currently closed to the public although the main public footpaths are still accessible.

It covers an area of 7.55 km2 (2.92 sq mi) and had a population of 177 in 85 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 197 at the 2011 Census.
