The Australian Reptile Park is located at Somersby on the Central Coast, New South Wales in Australia. It is about 50 kilometres (31 mi) north of Sydney, and is just off the M1 Pacific Motorway. The Park has one of the largest reptile collections in Australia, with close to 50 species on display. The wide variety of reptile species at the Park includes snakes, lizards (such as Komodo dragons), turtles, tortoises, tuataras, American alligators and crocodiles. In addition, the Park features Australian mammals such as kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, platypuses, Tasmanian devils, bare-nosed wombat, quokkas, echidnas, and dingoes. Australian birds featured include cassowaries. The park is heavily involved in snake and spider venom collection for use in the production of antivenom and is credited for saving the lives of thousands. It is an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association.

The Holt-Bragg Bridge is an arch road bridge that carries the Old Pacific Highway (B83) across Piles Creek at Somersby on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. It was opened on 30 June 2009 as a replacement for the previous bridge that collapsed two years earlier during severe weather. The bridge is named in honour of the five people who perished when the bridge collapsed.The Pacific Highway is the main road link from Sydney to Brisbane and travels alongside the coast. The section from Cowan to Kariong, where the Holt-Bragg Bridge is, follows a scenic winding route, however, with the majority of traffic using the Pacific Motorway. The original bridge was built around 1986, during the construction of the Calga to Somersby section of the Pacific Motorway. It was a concrete culvert bridge.

Kariong Mountains High School is a government-funded co-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Kariong, a suburb of Gosford, in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. Established on 22 February 2010 for students in Year 7 and Year 8 only, the school enrolled 540 students in 2018, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom five percent identified as Indigenous Australians and ten percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Anne Vine.

The Mooney Mooney Bridge, officially the Mooney Mooney Creek Bridge, and popularly known as The NSW Big Dipper Bridge, is a twin cantilever bridge that carries the Pacific Motorway (M1) across Mooney Mooney Creek, located near Mooney Mooney in the Brisbane Water National Park on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. The concrete box girder bridge was opened on 14 December 1986 by the Prime Minister of Australia, Bob Hawke, and is owned and maintained by Transport for NSW, an agency of the Government of New South Wales. The Pacific Motorway is the main road link between Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter Region. The only other road that links all three regions is the Pacific Highway (B83) which from Cowan to Kariong follows a scenic winding route.

The Mount Penang Juvenile Justice Centre is a heritage-listed former juvenile detention centre, now a parkland and redevelopment precinct known as Mount Penang Parklands. It is situated on the Pacific Highway at Somersby, Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by James Nangle and built from 1912 by the New South Wales Public Works Department. It was also known as The Farm Home for Boys, Girrakool and Kariong Juvenile Detention Centre. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 19 September 2003. Today, Mount Penang Parklands is a redevelopment precinct containing parks and gardens, a high school, an events park, commercial and office space and residential development.

Kariong () is a locality of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia west of Gosford along the Central Coast Highway. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area.

West Gosford is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. West Gosford is home to the Henry Kendall cottage and was home to the Gosford Classic Car Museum prior to its 2019 closure. While there is some residential areas, West Gosford is known as a retail and industry hub. Bunnings, Spotlight, Anaconda and Officeworks join the Gosford RSL and a Reliance Super Clinic along the Central Coast Highway. The West Gosford shopping centre, containing Coles supermarket is in Brisbane Water Drive. Primewest's shopping centre is in nearby Manns Road.

The Brisbane Water National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Central Coast region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The 11,506-hectare (28,430-acre) national park is situated 47 kilometres (29 mi) north of Sydney, 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) west of Woy Woy, and 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) southwest of Gosford.

Tascott is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia between Gosford and Woy Woy on Brisbane Water's western shore. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area.

Tascott railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the southern Central Coast suburb of Tascott opening in October 1905.

Koolewong is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia between Gosford and Woy Woy, and is mostly on a hill overlooking Brisbane Water. It is part of the Central Coast Council local government area. The suburb contains Koolewong railway station, which is on the Main North railway line. The land around Koolewong is flat to the southeast, but to the northwest it is hilly. The highest point in the vicinity has an elevation of 150 meters and is 1.0 km south of Koolewong. The nearest larger town is Umina, 6.5 km south of Koolewong. In the region around Koolewong, coves, bays, and beaches are unusually common.

Koolewong railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the southern Central Coast suburb of Koolewong opening on 29 November 1920.Koolewong was originally known as "Glenrock" but the name Koolewong was selected by the NSW Railways and the locality subsequently also became known as Koolewong.
