Avadi

Avadi taluk is a taluk, or township, of Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The administrative center of the township is Avadi, a neighbourhood of Chennai. The Avadi taluk comes under the Chennai Metropolitan Area. Avadi, Pattabiram, Thiruninravur are some of the important areas that fall under the jurisdiction of Avadi taluk. The township was formed from Poonamallee taluk and Ambattur taluk in 2015.,

Avadi is a state assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu, India, newly formed after constituency delimitation. It consists of a portion of Avadi taluk and includes Avadi. It is included in the Thiruvallur parliamentary constituency.

Avadi railway station is one of the major railway termini of the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. It serves the neighbourhood of Avadi, a suburb of Chennai located 23 km west of the city centre. It is situated at Tirumalairajapuram locality of Avadi, with an elevation of 26.85 m above sea level. According to a railway release in 2008, there are plans to develop Avadi station as a coaching terminal (satellite terminal) for Chennai Central railway station, on the lines of Tambaram station being developed as a terminal for Egmore railway station.

Paruthipattu Lake, also known as Avadi Lake, is a lake in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located in the Avadi locality of Chennai. It is the second eco-park in the city after Chetput Lake.

Vilinjiyambakkam Lake, or Vilinjiyambakkam aeri, is a rain-fed reservoir in Avadi, Chennai, India, that is filled during the monsoon seasons. The lake is spread over an area of 37 acres. Dry during summers, the lake has been used for dumping sewage and garbage in recent years.

St. Peter's College of Engineering and Technology is a co-educational engineering college located in Avadi, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is affiliated with Anna University.

Hindu College railway station, Chennai is one of the railway stations of the Chennai Central–Arakkonam section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. Located about 24 km from Chennai Central railway station, the station serves the neighbourhoods of Pattabiram a suburb of Chennai. It has an elevation of 28 m above sea level. The Hindu College is among the colleges in India to have a railway station very near. The other two are A. M. Jain College (Meenambakkam) and Loyola college (Nungambakkam)
