Oregon-Canadian Forest Products, Inc., known as OCFP or simply Oregon-Canadian, is an American lumber product manufacturer headquartered in North Plains in Oregon's Portland metropolitan area. It has been recognized as one of the top 100 private companies in Oregon. They are the largest manufacturer of high-grade Douglas fir lumber in the United States. They are also the only company that makes wood gutters used for the restoration of homes on the East Coast.

North Plains is a city in Washington County, Oregon, United States, off U.S. 26 on the northwest outskirts of the Portland metropolitan area. The population was 3,441 at the 2020 census.

Glencoe is a neighborhood and former community in Washington County, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1842, the town, which was north of Hillsboro, died off after 1910 when neighboring North Plains was created to the west. Most of Glencoe is now a part of North Plains. Glencoe gives its name to the road connecting Hillsboro to North Plains, as well as the name of the second high school built in Hillsboro, Glencoe High School.

Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club is a championship golf club in the northwest United States, located in North Plains, Oregon, northwest of Portland. The award-winning 36-hole club opened 31 years ago in 1992 and has hosted several major golf tournaments, including the U.S. Women's Open in 1997 and 2003 and the Safeway Classic on the LPGA Tour from 2009 through 2012. The Witch Hollow course is private; the Ghost Creek course is public.

The WinCo Foods Portland Open was a golf tournament in Oregon on the Korn Ferry Tour. It debuted in August 2014 at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in North Plains, a suburb northwest of Portland. Northwest-based supermarket chain WinCo Foods was named as the title sponsor in June 2013. After a seven-year run, the tournament was removed from the Korn Ferry Tour schedule in 2021 due to WinCo Foods ending its title sponsorship.With the exception of 2020 (when the season was altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the Portland Open was always the last regular-season event on the Korn Ferry Tour. Played on the Witch Hollow course, the tournament gave players one last chance to place in the top 25 on the money list to earn a PGA Tour card or play their way into the top 75 to retain full Korn Ferry Tour privileges and earn a chance at a PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour Finals.

The 2003 U.S. Women's Open was the 58th U.S. Women's Open, held July 3–7 at the Witch Hollow course of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near North Plains, Oregon, northwest of Portland. Hilary Lunke won her only major (and only LPGA) title in an 18-hole Monday playoff over Angela Stanford and Kelly Robbins, and became the first qualifier to win the championship. The three Americans finished the fourth round at 283 (−1), one stroke ahead of two-time champion Annika Sörenstam, who bogeyed the par-5 72nd hole after putting her tee shot in the fairway. The last playoff was five years earlier in 1998 and it had been sixteen years since three players were involved. In the playoff round, all three players birdied the final (90th) hole, and Lunke clinched the title by one stroke over Stanford.This was the second U.S. Women's Open at the Witch Hollow course; it hosted six years earlier in 1997, won by Alison Nicholas. It was also the site of the U.S. Amateur in 1996, the third straight victory by 20-year-old Tiger Woods in his final competition as an amateur.

The 1997 U.S. Women's Open was the 52nd U.S. Women's Open, held July 10–13 at the Witch Hollow course of Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near North Plains, Oregon, northwest of Portland. Alison Nicholas entered the final round with a three stroke lead and shot an even-par 71 to win her only major title, one stroke ahead of runner-up Nancy Lopez. In the final pairing, Lopez slid a 15-foot (4.6 m) downhill birdie putt past the 72nd hole while Nicholas sank a three-footer (0.9 m) for par to win at 274 (−10). Lopez, age 40 and in search of the title that eluded her, was the first-ever player to shoot four rounds in the 60s in the U.S. Women's Open.Two-time defending champion Annika Sörenstam's attempt for an unprecedented third straight title came up short. Five-over-par after her first nine holes on Thursday, she carded 77-73 for 150 (+8) and missed the 36-hole cut by three strokes, fourteen strokes behind the lead. Through 2021, no one has won three consecutive U.S. Women's Opens. The final round attendance on Sunday was a record 31,700 and the seven-day total was 123,850.This was the first U.S. Women's Open at Pumpkin Ridge; the championship returned just six years later in 2003. It previously hosted the U.S. Amateur in 1996, the third straight victory by 20-year-old Tiger Woods in his final competition as an amateur.

The Old Scotch Church, also known as the Tualatin Plains Presbyterian Church, is a church and national historic site located in an unincorporated part of Washington County, Oregon, near Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. The church dates to 1873 while the church structure with an eight-sided steeple dates to 1878. A cemetery on the church grounds holds the graves of church members and local pioneer settlers of the Tualatin Plains, including Joseph Meek.

Mountaindale is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States, about four miles northwest of North Plains. Settled in the 1850s, the small community was the longtime home of the Mountaindale Store. The area is part of Washington County Fire District 2.

The Manning–Kamna Farm is a private farm adjacent to Hillsboro in Washington County, Oregon, United States. Settled in the 1850s, ten buildings built between 1883 and 1930 still stand, including the cross-wing western farmhouse. These ten structures comprise the buildings added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as an example of a farm in the region from the turn of the 20th century. Until the 1950s the farm was used to grow seeds, including rye grass and vetch. Listed buildings on the property include a barn, smokehouse, pumphouse, woodshed, and privy.

Glencoe High School is a public secondary school in Hillsboro, Oregon that is part of the Hillsboro School District. It was founded in 1980 to relieve overcrowding at Hillsboro High School caused by the city's rapid expansion. Glencoe High is the second oldest of the four high schools in the city. Glencoe is classified as a 6A school for activities and sports. It takes its name from the former community of Glencoe. In 2003, the school, along with all schools in the district, made national news when 17 days of classes were cut from the school year due to budget cuts to education in Oregon. IN 2016, the graduation rate was 86%.
