blindekuh are two restaurants where patrons are served in the dark. The restaurants are located in Basel and Zürich, Switzerland. The name is derived from "Blinde Kuh" (blind cow), the German name for Blind man's bluff. No lights are allowed inside a blindekuh. Patrons are served by blind and visually impaired people. Both locations offer cultural events such as readings or concerts in the dark. The dark restaurants are a project of the Blind-Liecht (Swiss German for blind-light) foundation. The foundation works to create employment opportunities for blind and visually impaired people. Their first venture, the blindekuh in Zürich, opened on September 17, 1999 and is claimed to be the world's first dark restaurant. The second location opened in Spring 2005 in Basel. blindekuh won several awards, among them the Social Innovations Award of the Institute for Social Innovations in London. The restaurant concept has subsequently been replicated elsewhere, including in London, Paris, Sydney, Amsterdam, Tel Aviv, Beijing, and Vancouver as restaurants and multiple cities in the United States as special events.

The Zürichberg Tunnel (German: Zürichbergtunnel) is a railway tunnel in the Swiss city of Zürich. The tunnel runs from a junction with the Lake Zürich right bank line at Zürich Stadelhofen station, to Stettbach railway station. It passes under the Zürichberg range of hills that separates Zürich city centre from the Glattal region. The tunnel incorporated a set of underground platforms at Stettbach station, and carries twin standard gauge (1,435 mm or 4 ft 8+1⁄2 in) tracks electrified at 15 kV AC 16,7 Hz using overhead line.The tunnel is principally used by suburban trains of the Zürich S-Bahn, but occasional use is also made by postal trains, freight trains, and long-distance passenger trains. The tunnel was opened in 1990 as part of a program of major changes to the railway geography of this part of Zürich. Prior to these changes, Zürich Hauptbahnhof was a west-facing terminal station that required through trains to reverse in its platforms. Trains to and from the Lake Zürich right bank line had to traverse a 5 km (3.1 mi) long 270° curve to reach Stadelhofen station, whilst trains to and from the north and east were forced to use a rather indirect route through Zürich Oerlikon station. To improve these routings and allow the introduction of cross-city S-Bahn trains, the Hirschengraben Tunnel was constructed, taking a 2 km (1.2 mi) long direct route from new low-level platforms at Hauptbahnhof to Stadelhofen. At the same time the Zürichberg Tunnel was constructed from Stadelhofen to Stettbach, where a new station was constructed. To the east of Stettbach new links were constructed, linking to the Zürich to Winterthur line at Dietlikon station, and to the Wallisellen to Rapperswil line at Dübendorf station, thus allowing trains to take a direct route to and from the east and north of Zürich.In 2014, the routing via Hirschengraben and Zürichberg tunnels was supplemented by the Weinberg Tunnel, which links a further set of low-level platforms at Hauptbahnhof via an eastbound route to Oerlikon station, as part of the Durchmesserlinie Zürich. Unlike its 1990 equivalent, this routing is intended for use by long distance passenger trains as well as the S-Bahn.

Raetia ( REE-sh(ee-)ə; Latin: [ˈrae̯tɪ.a]; also spelled Rhaetia) was a province of the Roman Empire, named after the Rhaetian people. It bordered on the west with the country of the Helvetii, on the east with Noricum, on the north with Vindelicia, on the south-west with Transalpine Gaul and on the south with Venetia et Histria, a region of Roman Italy. It thus comprised the districts occupied in modern times by eastern and central Switzerland (containing the Upper Rhine and Lake Constance), southern Germany (Bavaria and most of Baden-Württemberg), Vorarlberg and the greater part of Tyrol in Austria, and part of northern Lombardy in Italy. The region of Vindelicia (today eastern Württemberg and western Bavaria) was annexed to the province at a later date than the others. The northern border of Raetia during the reigns of emperors Augustus and Tiberius was the River Danube. Later the Limes Germanicus marked the northern boundary, stretching for 166 km north of the Danube. Raetia linked to Italy across the Alps over the Reschen Pass, by the Via Claudia Augusta. The capital of the province was Augusta Vindelicorum, present-day Augsburg in southern Germany. The Mandarin Chinese name for Switzerland, 瑞士 (Ruìshì in pinyin) is a homonym of Raetia.

The Pavillon Le Corbusier is a Swiss art museum in Zürich-Seefeld at Zürichhorn dedicated to the work of the Swiss architect Le Corbusier. In 1960 Heidi Weber had the vision to establish a museum designed by Le Corbusier – this building should exhibit his works of art in an ideal environment created by the architect himself in the then Centre Le Corbusier or Heidi Weber Museum. In April 2014 the building and museum went over to the city of Zürich, and was renamed in May 2016.

The Botanical Garden of the University of Zurich (German: Botanischer Garten der Universität Zürich) is a botanical garden in the Swiss city of Zurich. It was opened in 1977 and is located at Zollikerstrasse in the Weinegg quarter of the city. The garden should not be mistaken for the Old Botanical Garden, located on the former zur Katz bastion in the city centre, which is also owned by the University of Zurich.

Seefeld is a quarter in the district 8 of Zürich. It was a part of Riesbach municipality that was incorporated into Zürich in 1893. The quarter has a population of 4,923 distributed over an area of 2.45 km²; 71.6% (1.76 km²) of the district's area belongs to Lake Zürich.

Zürich has been continuously inhabited since Roman times. The vicus of Turicum was established in AD 90, at the site of an existing Gaulish (Helvetic) settlement. Gallo-Roman culture appears to have persisted beyond the collapse of the Western empire in the 5th century, and it is not until the Carolingian period. A royal castle was built at the site of the Lindenhof, and monasteries are established at Grossmünster and Fraumünster. Political power lay with these abbeys during Medieval times, until the guild revolt in the 14th century which led to the joining of the Swiss Confederacy. Zürich was the focus of the Swiss Reformation led by Huldrych Zwingli, and it came to riches with silk industry in Early Modern times.

The canton of Zürich (German: Kanton Zürich [ˈtsyːrɪç] (listen); Romansh: Chantun Turitg; French: Canton de Zurich; Italian: Canton Zurigo) is a Swiss canton in the northeastern part of the country. With a population of 1,553,423 (as of 31 December 2020), it is the most populous canton in the country. Zürich is the de facto capital of the canton, but is not specifically mentioned in the constitution. The official language is German. The local Swiss German dialect, called Züritüütsch, is commonly spoken.

The Psychology Club Zürich (German: Psychologischer Club Zürich) is an association founded in Küsnacht, Switzerland, in 1916 by Swiss psychiatrist and psychologist Carl Jung, with former patients and students, to promote and develop analytical psychology. Located in a neo-Gothic building at Gemeindestrasse 27, Zürich, it became a prototype for other psychology clubs. The club continues to play an important role in the global development of Jungian psychology. Its centenary was celebrated in 2016.

The Chinese Garden (German: Chinagarten Zürich) is a Chinese garden in the Swiss city of Zürich. It is a gift from Zürich's Chinese partner town Kunming, dedicated to the Three Friends of Winter.
