Polk is an unincorporated community in Will County, Illinois, United States. It lies just north of the Kankakee County line and south of Beecher.

WYCA (102.3 FM "Rejoice 102.3") is a commercial radio station licensed to Crete, Illinois, and serving the southern suburbs of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is owned by Dontron, Inc., a subsidiary of the Crawford Broadcasting Company with studios in Hammond, Indiana. WYCA has an urban gospel radio format. Weekdays begin with a syndicated morning show hosted by Erica Campbell. Some local ministers host Christian talk and teaching shows. Services from several churches are broadcast on Sundays. WYCA has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,050 watts. The transmitter is on South Dixie Highway (Illinois Route 1) near 311th Street in Beecher, Illinois. WYCA broadcasts using HD Radio technology.

The Beecher Mausoleum is a community mausoleum located at the junction of Illinois Route 1 and Horner Lane in Washington Township, Will County, Illinois, southeast of the village of Beecher. The mausoleum was built in 1913–14, making it an early example of a community mausoleum. The first community mausoleum in the United States was built in 1907, and changing burial traditions and successful marketing made them a popular method of burial through the 1930s. These mausoleums were most common in large cities, and the Beecher Mausoleum is a rare early example of a community mausoleum in a small, rural village. Architect Cecil E. Bryan, who designed many community mausoleums for the National Mausoleum Company, designed the mausoleum in the Neoclassical style.The mausoleum was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 2013.

Beecher is a village in Will County, Illinois, United States. It is located on the old Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad and the Dixie Highway. Situated in the center of Washington Township, it was originally named Washington Center. Named for Henry Ward Beecher, Beecher was founded in 1870 and incorporated as a village in 1884. Originally governed by a village president and board of trustees, a village administrator was hired to handle daily tasks in 1988. The city clerk is an appointed position. The population was 4,713 at the 2020 census.

Grant Park is a village in northeastern Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. Grant Park was incorporated in 1883. In 2010, Grant Park had a population of 1,331. It is part of the Kankakee–Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Much of the town was destroyed by a cyclone in 1912, according to Frank Leslie's Weekly magazine, which ran pictures.

Yellowhead Township is one of seventeen townships in Kankakee County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,700 and it contained 1,065 housing units. Yellowhead Township derives its name from the Potawatomi warrior, Yellow Head, whose village was located at what is now Yellowhead Point.

Washington Township is located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 6,263 and it contained 2,404 housing units. Washington Township was formed from Crete Township and Sherburn Township on an unknown date.

Point School was a one-room schoolhouse was located at 6976 N. Vincennes Trail near Grant Park, Illinois. The school was built in 1854 to serve Yellowhead Township District #8, one of nine school districts in the county. As was typical of Midwestern one-room schoolhouses, the school was a white rectangular frame building; it featured a gable front and three windows along each of the sides. The school operated until 1948, when it was closed due to school consolidation in the area. While Kankakee County once had 151 one-room schoolhouses, an Illinois Historic Preservation Agency survey in 1992 determined that the Point School was one of only three one-room schoolhouses that still stood at its original site and had not been significantly altered.The school was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 5, 1992. It is no longer standing at its original site but owned / preserved by the Grant Park Area Historical Society. It can be seen in its preserved condition at 307 W. Taylor St., Grant Park, Illinois, 60940.

Will Township is located in Will County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 1,821 and it contained 700 housing units. Will Township was formed from the former township of Carey, which included modern day Monee Township and Will Township, in January 1859.

Sumner Township is one of seventeen townships in Kankakee County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 910 and it contained 337 housing units. It was formed as Union Township from part of Yellow Head Township on October 8, 1855; its name changed to Sumner Township on June 27, 1856.
