The Beecher Mausoleum is a community mausoleum located at the junction of Illinois Route 1 and Horner Lane in Washington Township, Will County, Illinois, southeast of the village of Beecher. The mausoleum was built in 1913–14, making it an early example of a community mausoleum. The first community mausoleum in the United States was built in 1907, and changing burial traditions and successful marketing made them a popular method of burial through the 1930s. These mausoleums were most common in large cities, and the Beecher Mausoleum is a rare early example of a community mausoleum in a small, rural village. Architect Cecil E. Bryan, who designed many community mausoleums for the National Mausoleum Company, designed the mausoleum in the Neoclassical style.The mausoleum was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 2013.

Beecher is a village in Will County, Illinois, United States. It is located on the old Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad and the Dixie Highway. Situated in the center of Washington Township, it was originally named Washington Center. Named for Henry Ward Beecher, Beecher was founded in 1870 and incorporated as a village in 1884. Originally governed by a village president and board of trustees, a village administrator was hired to handle daily tasks in 1988. The city clerk is an appointed position. The population was 4,713 at the 2020 census.

Yellowhead Township derives its name from the Potawatomi warrior, Yellow Head, whose village was located at what is now Yellowhead Point.

Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve is a unit of the Forest Preserve District of Will County located in Crete Township in Will County, Illinois. The closest town is Crete, Illinois. The preserve covers 898 acres (3.63 km2) and contains 4 miles (6.4 km) of trails and a man-made 40-foot (12 m) hill which is a sledding hill in the winter.Goodenow Grove Nature Preserve contains mostly woods, but has some prairie. It is moderately hilly with one small pond. Plum Creek crosses the preserve. Amenities include primitive campsites, picnic shelters available for reservation, and an ice-skating pond when conditions allow.In 1996, Goodenow Grove was dedicated as a State Nature Preserve for its diverse ecosystems, including forests, floodplain, seeps, savanna, prairies, meadows, and marshes. The nature preserve provides protection for the habitat of state-threatened or endangered species, including the eastern massasauga rattlesnake, the spotted coral root orchid, and more.

Grant Park is a village in northeastern Kankakee County, Illinois, United States. Grant Park was incorporated in 1883. In 2010, Grant Park had a population of 1,331. It is part of the Kankakee–Bradley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Much of the town was destroyed by a cyclone in 1912, according to Frank Leslie's Weekly magazine, which ran pictures.

Balmoral Park is an equestrian facility located just south of Crete, Illinois, United States. It operated from 1926 to 2015 as a horse racing track. It reopened in 2017 as a horse show facility under the same name.
