Charavines (French pronunciation: [ʃaʁavin]) is a commune in the Isère department in southeastern France.

Lake Paladru (Lac de Paladru, nicknamed "Lac Bleu" by local residents) is a small lake located in the Isère département of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, near Charavines, in France. The lake was formed by the glacier of the Rhône. It is 5.3 kilometres long and 1.2 kilometres wide when full, the maximum depth is 36 metres. The lake is shared between four municipalities and two cantons. It is the fifth largest natural lake of glacier origin in France. It is a major archaeological site, with several protected natural areas that are inaccessible by the public.

Virieu (French pronunciation: [viʁjø]), also Virieu-sur-Bourbre (French pronunciation: [viʁjø syʁ buʁbʁ], literally Virieu on Bourbre), is a former commune in the Isère department in southeastern France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Val-de-Virieu.

Val-de-Virieu (French pronunciation: [val də viʁjø]) is a commune in the Isère department in southeastern France. It was established on 1 January 2019 by merger of the former communes of Virieu (the seat) and Panissage.

Villages du Lac de Paladru is a commune in the department of Isère, southeastern France. The municipality was established on 1 January 2017 by merger of the former communes of Paladru (the seat) and Le Pin.

The Château de Clermont (also known locally as Tour de Clermont) is a ruined 11th-century castle in the commune of Chirens in the Isère department of France. From the 10th century, Chirens belonged to the Clermont-Tonnerre family. They built a castle on the Clermont hill overlooking the Chirens Valley. The castle was built with a triple enceinte and with an irregular pentagonal keep. The castle seems to have been abandoned at the start of the 16th century and was dismantled in 1626 by royal order inspired by Cardinal Richelieu, along with other castles which no longer served to defend France. Only the keep (which still belongs to the Clermont-Tonnerre family) exists today. It has been listed since 1983 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Paladru (French pronunciation: [paladʁy]) is a former commune in the Isère department in southeastern France. On 1 January 2017, it was merged into the new commune Villages du Lac de Paladru.

Valencogne (French pronunciation: [valɑ̃kɔɲ]) is a commune in the Isère department in southeastern France.

Panissage (French pronunciation: [panisaʒ]) is a former commune in the Isère department in southeastern France. On 1 January 2019, it was merged into the new commune Val-de-Virieu.
