The Paknam Incident was a military engagement fought during the Franco-Siamese crisis in July 1893. While sailing off Paknam on Siam's Chao Phraya River, three French ships violated Siamese territory and a Siamese fort and a force of gunboats fired warning shots. In the ensuing battle, France won and blockaded Bangkok, which ended the war.

Phra Chulachomklao Fort (ป้อมพระจุลจอมเกล้า; also known as "Phra Chun Fort") is a water fortress in a sub-district of Laem Fa Pha, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province. With no evidence of the date, approximately in March 1884, King Chulalongkorn (King Rama V) built this fort to protect the enemy from England and France. The King Rama V built this fort as a western artillery turret, which contained 7 153/32 mm Armstrong cannons, nicknamed a 'crouching tiger cannon,' which were the major weapons of this fort, making the fort the most modern in those days. King Rama V, besides the idea of building this fortification, also came to test-fire a crouching tiger cannon by himself on May 28 in 1893, this fort was used to fire against French warships in the Paknam Incident with Rear Admiral Phraya Chonlayutyothin be the guardian of the mouth of the Chao Phraya River. At present, Phra Chulachomklao Fort is under the supervision of the Bangkok Naval Base and built a statue of King Rama V in 1993 to commemorate the virtues of King Rama V, and the Royal Thai Navy has also organized a museum open to the public. For this reason, they considered this fort as another important tourist attraction in Samut Prakan Province.In 1993, a statue of King Rama V was built to commemorate his virtues, then, in 1996, Royal Thai Navy decided to discharge the Phra Chulachomklao Fort. At present, the fort is an open-air museum that is under the management of the Bangkok Naval Base. For this reason, Phra Chulachomklao Fort is considered an important tourist attraction in Samut Prakan Province.

The Chao Phraya ( or ; Thai: แม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา, RTGS: Maenam Chao Phraya, pronounced [mɛ̂ːnáːm tɕâːw pʰráʔ.jāː] or [tɕâːw pʰrā.jāː]) is the major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the centre of the country. It flows through Bangkok and then into the Gulf of Thailand.

The Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo (Thai: ฟาร์ม จระเข้ สมุทรปราการ) is a crocodile zoo in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. The park claims to hold the world's largest crocodile in captivity, named Yai, measuring 6 m (19 ft 8 in) and weighing 1,114 kg (2,456 lb). Yai is one among over 100,000 crocodiles at the farm. Visitors to the crocodile farm can see a wide variety of animals other than crocodiles, including elephants, lions, tigers, monkeys, great apes, horses and hippos. There are daily crocodile shows, famous for the performers doing tricks such as putting their heads and arms inside a crocodile's mouth. Elephant shows display the dexterity of elephants as they walk tightropes, ride skateboards and dance. Visitors may also take short elephant ride, ride a train, enjoy a paddle boat ride or explore the dinosaur museum. Admission for non-Thai adults is 300 baht. Admission for children is 200 baht. Thai nationals pay 60 baht admission. Foreign-looking residents of Thailand still pay 300 baht. The Samutprakarn Crocodile Farm is located at 555 Moo 7 Taiban Road, Taiban Sub-District, Amphur Muang, Samutprakarn, Thailand. Opening hours are from 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. daily.The farm shut down due to Covid-19 situation and went into liquidation in 2020.

Kheha (Thai: สถานีเคหะฯ, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː kʰēː.hàʔ]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Samut Prakan, Thailand. Kheha is the eastern terminus of the Sukhumvit Line. It opened on 6 December 2018 as part of the 13-km eastern extension. Rides on the extension were free until 2 January 2024. A further extension to Bang Pu is planned.

Phra Samut Chedi (Thai: พระสมุทรเจดีย์, pronounced [pʰráʔ sā.mút t͡ɕēː.dīː]) is the westernmost district (amphoe) of Samut Prakan province in central Thailand.

Ancient Siam (also known as Ancient City, Thai: เมืองโบราณ, Mueang Boran) is a museum park constructed by Lek Viriyaphant and occupying over 200 acres (0.81 km2) in the shape of Thailand. Ancient Siam is dubbed as the world's largest outdoor museum. Close to the Crocodile Farm in Samut Prakan Province, the 320-hectare "city" features 116 structures of Thailand's famous monuments and architectural attractions. The grounds of Ancient Siam correspond roughly to the shape of the kingdom, with the monuments lying at their correct places geographically. Some of the buildings are life-size replicas of existing or former sites, while others are scaled down. Still others are "creative designs," and not replicas of any historical structure. The replicas were constructed with the assistance of experts from the National Museum to ensure historical accuracy. Outstanding works include the former Grand Palace of Ayutthaya (destroyed in the Burmese invasion of 1767), Phimai Sanctuary in Nakhon Ratchasima, and Wat Khao Phra Viharn on the Cambodian border.

Sai Luat station (Thai: สถานีสายลวด, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː sǎːj lûa̯t]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. It opened on 6 December 2018 as part of the 13 km eastern extension. Rides on the extension were free until April 16, 2019.

Phraek Sa station (Thai: สถานีแพรกษา, pronounced [sā.tʰǎː.nīː pʰrɛ̂ːk.kā.sǎː]) is a BTS Skytrain station, on the Sukhumvit Line in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. It is located next to Robinson Lifestyle Samut Prakan Mall and Big C Supercenter Samut Prakan. It opened on 6 December 2018 as part of the 13-km eastern extension. Rides on the extension were free until April 16, 2019.

Samut Prakan School (Thai: โรงเรียนสมุทรปราการ) is a public school in Samut Prakan Province, Thailand. The school is coeducational, teaches junior high school and high school level. Samut Prakan School was a boys school in the past. The school has nine permanent buildings. There are six levels M 1–6. Each class has 12 rooms.
