Elmwood Park station

Elmwood Park is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 24,521 at the 2020 census. The community has long maintained a large Italian-American population, with a more recent influx of Polish-American and Hispanic residents.

Mont Clare is a station on Metra's Milwaukee District West Line in the Montclare community area in Chicago, Illinois. The station is 9.5 miles (15.3 km) away from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Mont Clare is in zone B. As of 2018, Mont Clare is the 145th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 303 weekday boardings. It is also the last outbound station in Chicago's city limits. As of 2022, Mont Clare is served by 14 trains in each direction on weekdays, by all 12 trains in each direction on Saturdays, and by all nine trains in each direction on Sundays. Mont Clare station consists of three tracks and two side platforms. The middle track has no platform, so stopping trains must use the outer tracks. Metra’s North Central Service trains use these tracks but do not stop.

Elmwood Park High School, or EPHS, is a public four-year high school located in Elmwood Park, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Elmwood Park Community Unit School District 401.

Montclare is one of 77 officially designated Chicago community areas located on the Northwest Side of the City of Chicago, Illinois.

Holy Cross High School was an all-boys, Roman Catholic high school in River Grove, Illinois, United States that operated from August 1961 until June 2004. In December, 2003, the school announced that they no longer had enough funding or interest in enrollment to continue. Only 79 students took the entrance exam for the 2004–2005 school year, and at least 125 were necessary to keep the school open. In June, 2004, the neighboring all-girls high school Mother Theodore Guerin High School accepted all Holy Cross students, becoming coed and changing their name to Guerin College Preparatory High School. Students from Mother Guerin and Holy Cross had already been sharing each other's facilities for certain classes, such as drama, music, and foreign languages.At one point, Holy Cross's enrollment was as high as 1,556 students. The school expanded its facilities in 1969 with the construction of a humanities learning center.

The 5th congressional district of Illinois covers parts of Cook and DuPage counties, as of the 2011 redistricting which followed the 2010 census. All or parts of Chicago, Elmhurst, Elmwood Park, Franklin Park, Hinsdale, La Grange Park, Norridge, Northlake, River Grove, Schiller Park, and Oakbrook Terrace are included.It has been represented by Democrat Mike Quigley since the April 2009 special election.

Elmwood Cemetery is located at 2905 Thatcher Avenue, in River Grove, Illinois. It features a cenotaph of comedian John Belushi, although his remains are buried elsewhere. However, his mother, Agnes Belushi, is buried in the same location.

Guerin Preparatory High School was a private, Roman Catholic high school in River Grove, Illinois, United States. It was located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. Guerin was established in 1962 as Mother Theodore Guerin High School, an all-girls school, by the Sisters of Providence of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. The sisters named the school after their congregation's foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin. The school was renamed when it became coeducational in 2004 and absorbed the students from the all-male Holy Cross High School after that school closed. Holy Cross High School had been opened in 1961. Guerin closed permanently after the 2019–20 academic year due to declining enrollment, increased need in financial aid for students, and lower than expected fundraising results.

Mars is a station on Metra's Milwaukee District West Line in Chicago, Illinois. The station is 9.1 miles (14.6 km) away from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Mars is in zone B. As of 2018, Mars is the 175th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 144 weekday boardings.As of 2022, Mars is served by eight inbound trains and four outbound trains on weekdays. There is no service on weekends or holidays. All trains scheduled to stop here treat the station as a flag stop. Mars station consists of three tracks and two side platforms. The middle track has no platform, so stopping trains must use the outer tracks. Metra’s North Central Service trains use the tracks but do not stop. The station is named for the Mars, Incorporated candy factory located on Oak Park Avenue in the Galewood neighborhood, right behind the station. The Chicago Park District's Rutherford Sayre Park immediately sits west of the station. A Shriners children's hospital sits to the north of the station.

River Grove is a station on Metra's North Central Service and Milwaukee District West Line in River Grove, Illinois. The station is 11.4 miles (18.3 km) away from Union Station, the southern terminus of the lines. In Metra's zone-based fare system, River Grove is in zone C. As of 2018, River Grove is the 138th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 333 weekday boardings.As of April 2022, on the Milwaukee District West Line, River Grove is served by 14 trains in each direction on weekdays, by all 12 trains in each direction on Saturdays, and by all nine trains in each direction on Sundays. On the North Central Service, River Grove is served by five inbound trains and four outbound trains on weekdays only. West of the station, the North Central Service diverges from the ex-Milwaukee Road's Chicago-Omaha-Kansas City mainline at the B-12 junction in Franklin Park, Illinois and proceeds north on the Canadian National Railway's Waukesha Subdivision, with the Milwaukee District West Line continuing to the west. Inbound North Central trains bypass the next six MD-West stations (not including the Mars station) east of River Grove, running nonstop to Western Avenue. The station is located across the tracks from Arnold Avenue on the corner of Illinois State Route 171, and is surrounded by the local St. Joseph's Cemetery. It is also located across from Elmwood Cemetery.

Trinity High School is a Roman Catholic college preparatory high school for girls located in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago, Illinois. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, it was founded in 1918 by members of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters. Originally the school was built on the grounds of Rosary College, which is now Dominican University, but in 1926 the campus was relocated a few blocks away from the original site. Today, Trinity High School has an enrollment of 500 young women divided among four grade levels. Trinity students come from 45 zip codes and 144 different grade schools.

Dominican University (DU) is a private Roman Catholic university in River Forest, Illinois, affiliated with the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters. It offers bachelor's and master's degrees, certificate programs, and a PhD in information studies. Dominican University offers more than 50 majors in the Rosary College of Arts and Sciences and 20 programs in five graduate academic divisions.
