The Pöstlingberg (German pronunciation: [ˈpœstlɪŋˌbɛʁk] ) is a 539-metre (1,768 ft) high hill on the left bank of the Danube in the city of Linz, Austria. It is a popular tourist destination, with a viewing platform over the city, and is the site of the Pöstlingberg pilgrimage church, and the Linz Grottenbahn. The Pöstlingberg is reached from the city centre by line 50 of the Linz tramway, running over the Pöstlingbergbahn mountain tramway.

The Freinberg Transmitter is a broadcasting transmitter on the Freinberg near Linz. It was established in 1928 as medium wave broadcasting station and used until 1936 a T-antenna, which hung up on two guyed masts, which were 45 metres tall. In 1936, the T-antenna was replaced by a 165 metre tall mast, insulated against ground. In summer 1950, the antenna mast was shortened to 120 metres, because it was too long for the new frequency and would have a bad radiation diagram. In October 1957, the mast was again extended to 146 metres and in 1965 the transmitters were replaced by a new device. At the beginning of the 1980s, medium wave broadcasting ceased at Freinberg. The mast is now used for FM transmission.

The Aloysian College (German: College Aloisianum) is a private Catholic Gymnasium and Realgymnasium located in Linz, Austria. Its roots are in a Jesuit seminary on the school's grounds in 1837, and the enlargement of this seminary as St. Aloysius Jesuit College in 1853. In 1912 the seminary took its present name, and in 1992 it became a day school open to the general populace.

The Pöstlingbergbahn (German pronunciation: [ˈpœstlɪŋˌbɛʁkbaːn] ) is a narrow-gauge electric railway, or "mountain tramway", in Linz, Austria. It connects the main square in the centre of Linz with the district of Pöstlingberg, located at the top of a hill (or small mountain) at the northern end of the city. Opened in 1898, for 110 years the metre-gauge railway ran from a terminal station in Linz's Urfahr neighbourhood, located across from the terminus of urban tram route 3, to Pöstlingberg. In 2009, service was extended from Urfahr to the city centre. To permit this change, the railway was regauged from 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in) metre gauge to 900 mm (2 ft 11+7⁄16 in) and a track connection to the Linz tram network was built. Service was suspended from March 2008 until May 2009 for this work. With a maximum grade of 11.6%, the Pöstlingbergbahn is one of the steepest adhesion railways in the world. There are steeper grades on at least one other tram system, that of Lisbon, but the Pöstlingbergbahn is still among the world's steepest adhesion railways and has the steepest grade of any in Austria.

2006 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships is the second in a series of World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships (also called World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor, or WMACi). This second edition took place in Linz, Austria, from 15 to 20 March 2006. The main venue was TipsArena Linz (called Intersport Arena Linz at the time), which is reputedly one of the most beautiful indoor arenas in Europe. : 19  The arena has a banked six-lane indoor track where the turns are raised to neutralize the centrifugal force of athletes running the curves. Supplemental venues included Linzer Stadion for throwing events. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Percy Hirsch, Wilhelm Koester, Brian Keaveney. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. A full range of indoor track and field events were held. In addition to indoor competition, non-stadia events included Half Marathon, 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.

TipsArena Linz (formerly Linzer Sporthalle and Intersport Arena) is an indoor sports arena, located in Linz, Austria. The capacity of the arena is 6,000 people for tennis and football events, and 2,500 for athletics. The arena opened in September 1974. It is the home of the Generali Ladies Linz, a WTA Tour tennis tournament.

Linzer Stadion was a multi-purpose stadium, in Linz, Austria. Originally built in 1952, the stadium was last modified in 2012 and now has a capacity of 21,005. The 2012 modifications included the installation of rail seats for safe standing. The stadium was opened on 28 July 1952, on the grounds of the former Froschberg-Brickworks. The stadium is also known as "Auf der Gugl", the name of the hill on which it is situated. It was used for football matches and hosted most matches of FC Blau-Weiß Linz and the top matches of LASK Linz. In July 2020, LASK presented their plans to build a new stadium on the site of the old stadium, with groundbreaking planned for early 2021 and completion scheduled for February 2023.

Raiffeisen Arena is a football stadium in Linz, the capital of the state of Upper Austria. It opened in 2023 on the site of the Linzer Stadion, which was built in 1952 and demolished in 2021. The new stadium has a total of 19,080 seats (standing, seated and box seats), with 17,117 seats available for international matches.The cost of the stadium was 65 million euros. With the additional facilities (e.g. offices, training grounds or daytime restaurant), it would be 85 million euros. Due to the increased cost of construction materials, the exact cost will not be known until after completion. Right next to the stadium is the TipsArena Linz multipurpose arena with a six-lane, 200-meter synthetic track and a maximum seating capacity of 8,755.

Linz Castle (Linzer Schloss) is located on a hill above the old town district of Linz, Austria, directly on the Danube.

The Atelierhaus Salzamt (lit: "Studio House Salt Authority") is a cultural institution in the city of Linz, Austria founded in 2009. Its goal is to promote and support international exchange programs in the field of visual arts. The house is located in the centre of Linz, directly on the southern bank of the Danube. It functions as an art gallery, an artists' residence, and a studio space for local and international artists.

The Linz State Theatre (German: Landestheater Linz) is a theatre in Linz, Austria.

The Stadtwerkstatt is an open event and project house in Linz. Founded in 1979 by young activists, it is the city's oldest autonomous cultural center. In addition to several music events each week, other cultural and artistic events are also held regularly. Three different associations operate in the Stadtwerkstatt building: the Friedhofstr 6 association (vulgo Stadtwerkstatt) with its Cafe Strom, art projects and events departments, as well as the non-commercial radio station Radio FRO and the net art and culture initiative servus.at.
