The Kubitschek Residence Museum (Portuguese: Museu Casa Kubitschek) is a museum house located on the shore of Lake Pampulha in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The building served as the weekend residence of Juscelino Kubitschek, prefect of Belo Horizonte at the time.

Mineirinho Arena (officially Estádio Jornalista Felipe Drummond), sometimes called just Mineirinho, is the biggest indoor sporting arena in Brazil. Located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, the arena holds 25,000 people.Mineirinho is located in the Sports Complex of Mineirão Stadium in the Pampulha, which was one of the headquarters of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The nickname (small Mineiro) is due to being located close to the larger Mineirão (big Mineiro), the stadium.At the time of its construction, the now extinct ADEMG (Administração de Estádios do Estado de Minas Gerais), the organization responsible for building the arena, was administered by sportswriters, who decided to honor Felipe Drummond, one of the most important sportswriters in the history of Minas Gerais, for his work as a journalist.

Lake Pampulha (Portuguese: Lagoa da Pampulha, Portuguese pronunciation: [pɐ̃ˈpuʎɐ]) is an artificial lake located in Pampulha, Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is also the name of an administrative region (região administrativa) of Belo Horizonte, and the name of one of 29 neighborhoods (bairros) within the administrative region of the same name. The lake was built in the early 1940s during the mayoralty of Juscelino Kubitschek, later president of Brazil from 1956 to 1961. Pampulha was created as a source of water for the city of Belo Horizonte, but quickly became polluted.Lake Pampulha covers 2.6 square kilometres (1.0 sq mi), has a volume of 14,000,000 cubic metres (18,000,000 cu yd), and a drainage basin of 97 square kilometres (37 sq mi). It has a mean depth of 5.1 metres (17 ft) and reaches a maximum depth of 16 metres (52 ft). The lake is fed by 8 small streams, the largest being the Sarandi and Ressaca. 424,000 residents live in the catchment area of the lake.

The Pampulha Modern Ensemble (Portuguese: Conjunto Moderno da Pampulha) is an urban project in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. It was designed around an artificial lake, Lake Pampulha, in the district of Pampulha and includes a casino, a ballroom, the Golf Yacht Club and the Church of Saint Francis of Assisi. The buildings were designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer, in collaboration with the landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx, Brazilian Modernist artists, and engineer Joaquim Cardozo.In July 2016 the site was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its outstanding examples of modern architecture and its importance in the development of a Brazilian architectural identity.

The Pampulha Art Museum (Portuguese: Museu de Arte da Pampulha), formerly known as Cassino da Pampulha, is a building that is part of the Pampulha Modern Ensemble located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The building was designed by the architect Oscar Niemeyer at the request of the then-mayor of the city, Juscelino Kubitschek, and is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site along with the rest of the ensemble since 2016.

Pampulha (Portuguese: Região Administrativa da Pampulha) is an administrative region in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is one of nine administrative regions of Belo Horizonte, and occupies 47.13 kilometres (29.29 mi) in the northeast of the city. It has a population of 145,262 and a population density of 3.08 per square kilometer. The center of the Pampulha is occupied by Lake Pampulha, an artificial lake constructed in the early 1940s by Mayor Juscelino Kubitschek, later president of Brazil from 1956 to 1961. The Pampulha administrative region is further subdivided into 29 neighborhoods (bairros), one of which is also called Pampulha.Otacílio Negrão de Lima, mayor of Belo Horizonte in the early 20th century, dammed a small streamed called Pampulha in 1936 for flood control and augment the city water supply through the creation of a reservoir. The resulting Lake Pampulha became the site of an urban development project by Juscelino Kubitschek. Kubitschek called on the young architect Oscar Niemeyer to create a series of buildings; Niemeyer was joined by the landscape architect Roberto Burle Marx and numerous artists to create site now considered the earliest and most important example of Modernism in Brazil.In July 2016 the area around the lake became an UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Pampulha Modern Ensemble (Conjunto Arquitetônico da Pampulha).

The Casa do Baile (English: "Ball House") is an architectural landmark in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer. It is part of the Pampulha Modern Ensemble, a complex of buildings constructed around Lake Pampulha in the 1940s that represents some of Niemeyer's earliest works in his distinctive modernist style utilizing curved forms. The Casa do Baile was inaugurated in 1943 as a restaurant and dance hall for popular entertainment, though it had a short lifespan in that role. After years of alternate uses, it reopened in 2002 as an architecture and design center. Its fluid curves integrating with the natural landscape have made it an icon of modern Brazilian architecture, garnering protected status at municipal, state and national levels.

The Iate Tênis Clube (English: Yacht Tennis Club) is a recreational club located on the shore of the Lake Pampulha in Belo Horizonte. Its building was designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer in the early 1940s, integrating the Pampulha Architectural Complex, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 2016.

Belo Horizonte Street Circuit is a 3.100 km (1.926 mi) planned street circuit located in Belo Horizonte around the Mineirão stadium and Lake Pampulha. The circuit will be opened in August 2024 by hosting the seventh round of 2024 Stock Car Pro Series, and the race will be named as BH Stock Festival.

Mineirão (Portuguese pronunciation: [minejˈɾɐ̃w]), officially Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto (Governor Magalhães Pinto Stadium) is the largest football stadium in the state of Minas Gerais. It was established in 1965, and it is located in Belo Horizonte. It served as a venue in the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup. It also hosted some matches of the football tournament of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The stadium has a seating capacity of 61,846 spectators. The property of the state of Minas Gerais, it is used by Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.

The Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) School of Medicine is one of the oldest and biggest in Brazil. Founded in 1911, shortly after the creation of the capital city of Belo Horizonte, it graduates 320 doctors every year – the biggest number of graduates per year in Brazil – and another 50 speech-language therapists.

The Federal University of Minas Gerais (Portuguese: Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, UFMG) is a federal research university located in the state of Minas Gerais. Its main and biggest campus is located at the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is one of Brazil's five largest and best universities, being the largest federal university. It offers 79 undergraduate education programs, upon completion of their curricular schedule the student is awarded either a Bachelor's degree, a Licenciate degree, or a Professional title (the latter usually applies to regulated health professions), all officialized by the issue of a University Diploma. It also has 90 postgraduate education programs, awarding 30 postbaccalaureate specialization degrees, 92 Master's degrees, and 72 Doctoral degrees, as well as 41 medical residency programs offered at UFMG's hospital facilities complexes. The UFMG has a population of roughly 72 thousand people among 34,482 undergraduate students, 2,247 postbaccalaureate specialization students, 10,556 Master's and Doctoral students, 3,202 professors, and 4,246 administrative employees. Competition to get into undergraduate programs involved 111,718 candidates to 6740 vacancy openings (16.6 candidates per vacancy; 6% of candidates get a position). It is research-oriented, even at the undergraduate level, whose students are encouraged to take part in research development through the Scientific Initiation program. Out of the number of professors, 761 (24%) are CNPq award-recipients due to outstanding research productivity. It encompasses 860 research groups, 1051 patent deposits in Brazil and abroad, and has the highest score (5 out of 5) at the Ministry of Education's undergraduate assessment.The university also has campi at Tiradentes and Montes Claros. Most courses, however, are taught at the main campus, located in the Pampulha district of Belo Horizonte. It receives the second highest amount of federal funds and resources among all federal universities, and registered over 1060 national and international patents in 2016 the biggest amount among other Brazilian higher education institutions. In 2014, according to Scopus, UFMG published over three thousand articles in influential international newspapers and magazines. Past students include former Brazilian presidents Dilma Rousseff, Juscelino Kubitschek and Tancredo Neves; former Governor of Minas Gerais Rondon Pacheco; writer, medical doctor and diplomat João Guimarães Rosa, writers Fernando Sabino, Pedro Nava and Cyro dos Anjos; plastic surgeon Ivo Pitanguy, poet Carlos Drummond de Andrade and musicians Fernando Brant, Samuel Rosa of Skank and Fernanda Takai of Pato Fu; electrical engineer and mathematician Welington de Melo. The undergraduate students are admitted through the national annual exams called Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio (National High School Exam). Its undergraduate courses were ranked 1st place in the 2007 results of the Student's National Performance Exam (ENADE). UFMG is the fifth best university in Latin America, according to the 2021 Times Higher Education ranking, and the 3rd best university in Brazil. UFMG's communication, psychology and management degrees, among others, were also elected as the best in the country and almost all undergraduate courses offered by the institution rank in the top 5 when compared to their counterparts in other Brazilian universities. Furthermore, the university is the highest ranking Brazilian university in terms of quality of education and second place when it comes to recognition in the job market.
